The night of Michael Jackson's passing I had the honor and priviledge to host The Original Quiet Storm on WHUR-FM 96.3 in Washington, DC. Every song was a Michael Jackson song or song he sang lead with the Jackson5. This song was on the playlist ending a music sweep where I had to back anounce the songs played...(I had never heard this song till that moment) ....with tears in my eyes and an emotional knot in my throat the size of a grapefruit.....I could barely speak, choked with EMOTION..this song moved me then and still does now.

Someone Put Your Hand Out" (on disc three of The Ultimate Collection) is a song originally written by Michael Jackson with Teddy Riley in 1987 for the Bad album and re-written in April 1992, having failed to make it on to Jackson's 1991 album Dangerous
Teddy Riley had nothing to do with the song in 87. He remixed it in 1991 and it was in the running to be on Dangerous.

@@adonisblair I just meant Teddy didn't have anything to do with it in 1987. He didn't meet Michael until 1990.
Jordan D the song was released as a super rare single for the Walkman for Michaels Dangerous World Tour but due to the allegations it was canceled and never finished
There’s also a 3inch record of the song for promotion but it too is rare then the full version

From 16th till 23th birthday (2006 - 2013) i bought a Michael Jackson present for my self. In 2006 i bought the Ultimate Collection. In contains 5 CD'S- the first four are his greatest hits and the fifth one is his live performance in beginning of 90's @ bulgaria i think. The best gift!

I remember watching the Live in Bucharest DVD back in 2009 and hearing this instrumental during a transition and thinking "damn that would sound great for a song" and then heard this a few months later and was amazed at the emotions he put into this song. A few years back UA-cam had took down every video with this song. Glad its back up

This is an amazing cut. I don't think I've heard this one before. MJ's killing on the vocals, and those harmonies are freakin' out of this world. It's just mind-boggling how much great music MJ recorded.
No, this song was from the Dangerous era...It's a rare song but, it was released. I remember having it on a Cassette tape, on side 'A' was a sample of Dangerous album which was all the song edited and mashed together which sounded cool and then this was on side 'B'. Always loved it
