Benedict is the man! Definitely a big influence on bringing adventure biking to the forefront of cycling. Great video plus the black metal sound track? Frickin awesome!
@@G-man45444 That's so trendy. It's supposed to be some band from the depths of Europe with less than 5 fans that you can listen alone while you cycle through the woods.
Metal and cycling fit perfect together! I listen to stuff like that and love it. THANK GOD IT IS A BIT WHAT MAKES THIS DIFFERENT TO THOSE 1000S OTHERS OF VIDEOS.
There is so much "perfect" going on in the imagery I almost can't stand it 😍 his hair, the woods, fire, food, music and then the snow at the end! Lovely.
Absolutely loving the Adventure Dispatch videos. If you were to go international and get visual stories from others around the world that would be sick!
This guy looks so young, yet his hairs are grey. I think it's a testament that this type of lifestyle keeps you young, that is not the face of a stressed man. Unreal! ❤
Awesome short film, and a terrific person it would seem :) Agree about the bike, on of the few good inventions that can help man rather than destroy us. Add sailboat to that as well and we have the two perfect vehicles to take us anyway any time.
I like this simple life, you don't have to think about anything else, that you wake up in the morning feeling relaxed, that you are relaxed, that you are relaxed
And the bike is an AWOL... isnt it. A much regrettably discontinued bike that is a legend even in Italy and of which I so happily managed to grab one of the very last specimens! In Italy we have a saying... "you don't don't ever sell your Awol"... true story 😌. Hope you'll go back on full steel some day soon!
Was that a photo of ?Matthew McConaughey? Love it. Hey Ultra I’m in Western mass let’s go for a ride sometime, I’d love to buy you a beer and learn more.
wow ultra!!! i read about you in my news paper in india. & then i become a fan of you & your life style. you are an amazing guy. its good that i found you in google & youtube. nice..
just sad, that Specialized doesn't build reliable bikes anymore. I cracked a Diverge Frame after 6000km, got a replacement and after just a bit over 2000km the frame starts creaking again. I wonder how long it will take until it's also trash. As a replacement, I've ordered a custom steel frame. I just hope my Diverge lasts until it gets here. The Diverge was my 5th and last Specialized.
Thanks for the reply. I believe that the standard size water bottle for bicycles is 24 ounces. And of course the water bottle cage will only fit a 24 ounce bottle as well. So if I wanted to purchase a 40 ounce bottle from Klean Kanteen I would need to find a source for the larger water bottle cage for attaching to my bicycle. Any ideas?
Once you have your bike, a high quality tent and equipment, and clothing, all you really need to get is food. That is why he said he spends a lot of money on food.
Hansthehorrible I made that print for him and had it laminated. I presented it to him on a ride up in Vermont a few years ago and I kid you not, I've never seen someone more genuinely excited, not even a child on Christmas morning. true story.

The music is cool but the first half of the video definitely felt a little bit all over the place as a result. Super cool set up though.... and is that picture of Matthew Mcconaughey?
My wife and I are still rolling on the floor with laughter! Stop! My sides are beginning to hurt! I think the funniest line was unintended: "I've never owned a car ... I've never had to do the payments ... I have loads of free time because I don't need to make a lot of money." The thought that immediately sprang to mind was: "What! Have you not priced a top-of-the-line Specialized bike?! Of course you need to make a lot of money!!!!!" ;-D
But if he is trying to keep within $10 a day, a tanning session probably (know idea what it cost for tanning) exceed it. Plus he had relatively new clothes and a bottle wine, in a cabin. from a story about him.... He “works” (or plays) as a fishing guide on his dad’s charter boat back home in Connecticut about six months a year and travels the world by bicycle for the rest, living on about $10 a day. “Benedict” (another name he calls himself for “tax reasons”) is not sure how much money he makes (he refuses to count it), but says he can live comfortably on about $10,000 a year. He keeps most of his cash buried in plastic bags and keeps a bank account only so he can buy and sell bicycle parts on eBay.
Still one of the best videos on the internet 🙌
Black metal + bikepacking = awesomeness
Blackpacking. :P

I like these videos that reach everyone as opposed to just aero, aero, aero. Well done!
But he has Aerotech gloves on! But I also like the departure of competitive cycling in this series. Cycling for the everyman.
Agreed. There are so many aspects to riding a bike and often we only see 1

black metal soundtrack on a corporate made video.... interesting....
Because he rides the custom Specialized blackmetal Awol
Haha, black metal is just meant for entertainment purposes, you know right? Serves the capital just as the brands, it’s not even art dude
@@polyushkopole5292of course it's human artifice, the root of the abbreviation "art"

This is the spirit that Specialized should uphold, not the pursuit of Roubaix Cafe, Epic Design etc. for infringement of imaginary copyright.

If you want to live simply in the nature, there's nothing better than the latest expensive bike tech.

very hipster, but still great video. Absolute truth: bicycle is the best invention. Put humanity forward with minimal risk.
