Pushing out all the air from the case creates another problem, the water will be able to "touch" things on the display very easily. Reflections are another huge problem, snorkeling mask can have moisture inside (reduces visibility), underwater case can reflect light (less visibility), the display of the phone can reflect light (almost no visibility).
I totally agree because I have a life proof case on my phone and when I use phone in rain water drops hit screen and makes it hard to text when screen has water on it because if I want to text what’s up for example and touch w I get a q instead of w because water drops on screen get in way and I have to wipe screen off so I have a dry spot to type
It won't. pushing out the air locks the screen. water touching the screen is having air in it.
If the phone is waterproof DON'T use it in sea water (salt water)!!! Salt water is conducting electricity, the USB charging port is usually not covered! Conclusion ► Better use a dedicated waterproof action camera...

What if we use a case?
Is this the same for different cases as well??
Pushing the volume up/down buttons on the phone to capture a photo or start video is not a great idea either because the phone will move away inside the nylon case.
If the air is pushed out of the case the phone won't float on the top of the water if it falls out of the hand, it will quickly sink due to the weight!

A good rinse with water should do the trick.
I think it’s best to keep air in if u want case to float if it goes overboard if u plan on snorkeling to take photos then remove air
keeping air in it will have stop recording and random touches when waves hit. Also fogging problems.

Why does it take so long?
It is virtually impossible to get the phone out if you put it in there with the case. I had to rip the pouch open to remove my phone because the phone would not come out. Good luck with that !
My problem is that when I go under water my buttons don’t work!! I have an iPhone 11. I wanted to film footage swimming with turtles but every time I would go underwater I could not snap pictures or get my video button to turn on... very frustrating !! Thank you for this video!! I’m trying again today !

In that case we MUST use the volume keys to take photos or videos:} I'm sure you've figured it out by now :}
It's caused by a water pressure which imitates touching the screen all around. But there's a workaround. You have to turn on the Guided Mode in Accessibility settings which allows you to turn off the touch completely until you press the side button three times in a row to end it. By default iPhones have volume buttons set up as a shutter and if you hold down the Volume Down button it will start recording :)

My phone when is under the water starts pressing all the butons, is annoying. Anybody knows how to fix this? I can't make videos 😭😭
