Things feel right in the Yankee universe again. Still a lot of season left but more positive then ive been in the past two years
I really think Cole is helping the starters. Every game, they show Cole talking to them especially Gil.
Gotta love it man. Gil called him the professor.
"Jomboy's clone joins the show, a breakdown"
Best I've felt about the Yankees since pre-allstar break 2022
I know we’re excited, but let’s remember we dropped 3/4 to Baltimore. They’re a great team need to be sure we can beat them in October.
I would've never in a million years thought that are our Starting Rotation would be THIS GOOD without GERRIT COLE, like Matt Blake has genuinely saved my life man 🔥
Being able to look at a team like the white Sox and say “alright this sweep is gonna be good” instead of being worried each game last year feels absolutely amazing 😭
Loving the Trevino appreciation because he calls a great game and is an all around great player
Showing the videos during the burn is a hell of an upgrade! Love it!
Who would have thought Jose Trevino would be batting .280?
Bro has pop too
@@Bobabomb337 So glad Cashman traded Higgy to the Padres.
Jimmy I couldn’t agree more with your Pride of the Yankees pick. Trevy was on another level of existence especially this series.
Seeing him take command with such confidence was incredible to see. He’s so clutch too especially with RISP
The show treats Brad the same way the Yanks treat Ron.
Jimmy with the Trevy love 👏🏽 he’s ballin
Jake’s blanket analogy about Berti is so funny 😂
Great team. Great ep! Good times. Go Yankees.
Great show like always 🙂
Living high right now! I’m a huge Yankees fans but also from Indiana and a big pacers fan!! 💪🏼living high
Brad Ausmus is going to shatter the record for most Yankee MFer awards. 😂
The character and makeup of the team is the most important aspect to the team's success. This not a clollection of stars, it's a group of players who genuinely pull for each other and like one another.
GM Watson started this trend a long time ago and cashman has continued it and made it stronger. The character of the playeris just as important as the player's skill value.
Maybe you should start giving the Pride award to the starting rotation. They are making it look easy.
The O's are pretty much the only blip this season. We need to get them back for taking 3 out 4.
My Old Man (who is 80 years young this year), when he saw the Trevino 'pick off' at 3rd during the check swing review said "I have never seen a play like this my entire life"
What needs improvement is the broadcast department. Missed Stanton’s homer, missed Nestor’s quick pitch, missed Trevino’s pick off.
The amount of times they do that is ridiculous. Show the damn game they’re always worried about bs stats and unimportant stuff on the field
You guys need to relax damn 😅😅
@@Bobabomb337 i am very relaxed. This is just a matter of fact statement. There’s not even any emotion in it. Kind of a joke too.
Just remembered that we got Trevino for Albert Abreu...
I admit to being one of the sh*t talkers about Stanton for the past few years. While I love how he’s hitting, what really opened my eyes and heart was watching him hustle and slide into second base on one of his doubles. It was refreshing to see. 👏👏👏
31:03 that was a little bit like what Jim? 😂
The 2022 season had the best start almost of any season in history. To start 49-16 will probably not be done again anytime soon
48:59 What was that Jimmy? I rewatched like 5 times, lol.
I live in Bozeman Montana now and Michael Longfellow played a few shows out here and he crushed it. Very good dude who just so happens to be hilarious. I’m from New York and have been backstage at snl and that’s pretty amazing too. It’s a well oiled machine. I like Michael because it’s just funny. No politics. No one trying to teach life lessons. Just funny. Very refreshing. Also I wish jomboy would take over for Michael Kay. Your take on modern day Yankees is also refreshing.
You mean the same SNL that turned a blind eye to pedo active? 🤡
5:10 Still waiting for that sports optimist lamp
The look on Jake's face at the VERY end is fuckin hilarious 🙉🙉🙉
Perfect opportunity to give Clay the White Horse award, given the warm up song.
This team for sure has a much different feel than it has for years. Before you just knew they weren’t good enough to win it all or get my Houston in the playoffs
This year i feel like they are the cream of the crop with that lineup
The bottom of the lineup has made a huge difference this year. Routinely scoring a run or getting men on base with like 1 out to then turn it over to the Soto, Judge, Stanton/Verdugo onslaught. it just takes the pressure off those bigger guys and forces the pitchers to pitch to them
4th chair for joez button‼️
We’re in a completely different world compared to last year. Especially when you remember that Cole and the Martian were the only bright spots last year and this year they’ve been non factors and afterthoughts
Martian played 8 games bro lol.
When Dominguez is back, sitting Verdugo will be a legit option if Verdugo doesnt pick up the pace. Verdugo can be a great defensive replacement/PH but I think Dominguez can SLG better than .400
Dominguez will be going to Triple A. No room for him.
@@chrisheffernan6600 verdugo has a 103 OPS+ both this year and since 2021. His stats are a perfect fit for 4th outfielder/defensive replacement, despite the hype around him
Judgie likes Verdugo where he is I don't think he's going anywhere this season
@@smackofalltrades The Yankees aren't going to make that decision until the last second. It's going to be a more interesting conversation if Verdugo continues slumping and is batting .230/.305/.380 by the time Dominguez is ready. Right now he's already only slashing .244/.321/.394 which is not really that impressive
@@Requinix17 That's not happening. Already announced Dominguez will go back to Triple A until an injury happens or September. Get over it.
Baseball!
He’s the Francis Ngannou of baseball.
I cant wait for the Martian 👽to showcase his God given 5 Tools 🔧 in the Bronx🗽
Fun Fact! Michael Tonkin at no point in his career has had close to as bad of a year as Caleb Ferguson is having! He also has never pitched more than 30 innings in a year with less than a 4 ERA, he has 2 years above 30 IP (one at 80 and one at 71.2) and has a 5.02 and 4.28 ERA in those seasons. He has also shown little to no promise! He will still somehow keep a spot over multiple other better players
When Cole comes back I think Nestor has to be the guy moved to the pen assuming everyone stays healthy because he's been the worst starter this year and he's been a bullpen guy before but this is a great problem to have, Go Yanks!
The Ian Hamilton, Ron convo was pretty off. Hamilton last year had a better season and threw more innings than Ron ever has. He's definitely struggled this year, but the Yankees clearly like him.
Ron was the man in 2022. It wasnt off at all. Ron is a beast, was injured last season which is why he struggled. Hamilton should be down, Ron should be up. Period.
@@chrisheffernan6600 Ron was very good in 2022. But he didn't throw as many inning or in as high leverage as Hamilton did last season. The Yankees clearly think Hamilton has better stuff than Ron, and I think they're right.
@@johnnytwotimes7854 Ron was hurt in 2023. You do realize when players are hurt they don't live up to their potential?
By Martian does he mean Augustin Ramirez? If I’m getting the name right
Jasson Dominguez
L1 streak
The only series we have lost this year was the Orioles series which Verdugo didn't play in 3/4 games. Him in the 4 hole has turned this team into a complete team ready to go deep in October
Even though he’s hit like absolute crap in the 4 hole and might be the worst 4 hitter in baseball. But hey, we’re still winning games!
We lost a series to Toronto as well 2-1
@@TonyScimeca true I forgot about that one, it was played in Canada that’s probably why😂 and verdugo wasn’t in 4 hole yet either so I don’t count it!
😂😂😂😂 imagine thinking 2 war verdugo is the reason they lost to a better team
@AnimeBronx I mean the Yankees are the better team by basically every metric though
Clay has a higher K/9 than Mo, its why the entire argument of "contact closer" is silly and flawed
The spinning ball is a cool addition to any man cave (I'd love to have it), but it's distractingly slow on the screen. If the revolutions were just a touch faster (or maybe if it were a background object), it wouldn't feel so frustrating to watch.
Or maybe I'm just autistic.
Keywords white Sox
You are forgetting about the Orioles. They are the new Astros, and we still don’t have enough depth.
We are loaded with depth. Lemahieu Peraza and Dominguez are the depth. Thats way better than most
And unlike another team, the Phillies cough cough, the Yankees actually beat teams over .500 😂
Takes bbd 3 minutes to switch to a solo shot what is bro in that corner doing
Tonkin clearly has to be sent down for Kahnle. Hamilton has struggled but they view him as a top 3 reliever. And he’s been good in the past, Tonkin hasn’t. Tonkin is the trash guy. DFA Tonkin for Kahnle. Ron has been treated horribly, but that’s not a good reason to treat other guys equally as horribly.
Also it is strictly wrong to say Ron is better than Hamilton imo. Hamilton had a better year last year than Ron has ever had. And he has better stuff
Knicks are done. Rangers should be done in a couple of weeks. It's time to focus on the best Yankees team in at least 15 years.
Spoke too soon considering last night's disaster.
On may 29 2022 Yankees were 33-15 and went 29-10 until the all star break 62-25 and we all know how that season turnout😢😢
Yea, but as they discussed, that year was full of “above the mean” performances. So far at least, the performances this year are akin to what you’d expect based on the “back of the baseball card”s.
Comparing 2024 to 2022 is such a lazy analysis
Gil not getting a pride is an all time low for this show. Rookie strikeout record for the freaking Yankees!!!!! Worst show ever. In UA-cam history.
Calm down wiener
Omg I'm reading the comments and I haven't gotten there yet, that's actually insane. Only consolation is, he'll be getting plenty of prides
I have no confidence so long as Boone is the manager.
He WILL find a way to screw up in the playoffs, even if the team were 130-32 in the regular season.
jinx
That's why stanton is so susceptible to offspeed pitches. I've always thought stanton was more worried about his statcast numbers than his batting average.
You honestly think Stanton cares more about his statcast #’s than the results/helping his team?
That’s hogwash. Stanton is a team first guy. Great teammate. He just happens to be the most powerful athlete in baseball. He’s never been a great pure hitter, but has made up for that with legendary pop. He’s been really good this year and I expect him to keep hitting like this.
How in the world is this the conclusion you come to when the Yankees and Stanton are playing like they are? What??? This is so dumb.
You clearly don’t know who Stanton is. The dude doesn’t give a shit what his numbers look like.
@@birdwatcher1337 right?
+ it’s a stat that JUST came out a few weeks ago
Oh on may 19th 2022 you were equally as confident....how that year end? Yankee fans are the worst, their smug organization is the worst, and their players (outside of rizzo and soto, who they traded for) haven't done anything team-wise to write home about. If judge ever wins a title it will be when hes a 38 year old dh.
You swept the ChiSox?!?!?! Look out. You lost 3/4 to a real team
You lost 2 out of 3 against Oakland.
Yankee success…. You literally hate to see it
does it mean anything, Mariners believe and have momentum they can beat Yankees in postseason play?did Mariners expose Holmes ,, Yankees biggest weakness.Yankees Fans= time to get strikeout closer Miller,
Don’t ever wear Mets colors on a Yankee show that was your first mistake 😂 very disrespectful lil boy
Who cares… it’s mid-May.
😂😂😂! This is simple guys. Soto is giving effort on defense this year because he has the second largest contract in the history of baseball on the line. Next year he’ll go right back to being a trash defender.
