    that grown woman kissing her was definitely sexual assault, not just sexual harassment because it was an act not just words ugh disgusting

    • @basicallyno1722
      @basicallyno1722 2 місяці тому +17

      Technically, the legal definition of assault is merely the attempt or threat of the act. Assault (in legal terms) is making someone reasonably fear the threat of imminent harm.
      Just some legal things - colloquially I know we use assault as a physical act. Legally it’s not though.

    • @basicallyno1722
      @basicallyno1722 2 місяці тому +25

      (Ctd) so if someone backs you into a corner and says they’re going to r@pe you but for some reason doesn’t finish it - that’s assualt. If they grope you during the process then it’s sexual battery. If they follow through on r@pe then it’s also a form of sexual battery. Within the term “sexual battery” there are different levels, which will incur different sentences….just like there are different levels to murder charges. Every state (and country) has varying levels of complexity for charges.
      Just an FYI - I think it’s always good to know the legal terms and definitions so victims can adequately navigate the Justice system when they pursue their options for coming forward.

    Very sad story to what happened to Allie DiMeco. Just because she didn't want to kiss a 30 YEAR OLD MAN. She was threated to be fired and affect her career. This reminds me to the Victorious episode "Beck Falls for Tori" where Tori feels uncomfortable to be a stunt double and she had the intention to tell the production that she didn't wanted to do it, but her mates does not recommend her to do that because she will put in risk to not be hired again by any production. Basically was Nickelodeon describing themselves on an episode. Also Allie DiMeco's case reminds me the Demi Lovato's song where she sings "Finally 29. 17 would never cross my mind".

    Brother I heard someone say this was the ‘me too’ for kids movement and I thought it was silly, but it literally is. Every single day there is more and more and more. With all this coming out I’ve come to a very scorched earth conclusion, and I’m no boomer, I’m only 27, but there is absolutely zero purpose for a live action children’s tv show. This happens wayyyy too darn often! Kids can watch animation, that’s all they need!

    • @nitely2345
      @nitely2345 Місяць тому +1

      Absolutely. They should always be animated and make sure they are not animated in any perverted ways that could harm the children watching. It is not worth it hurting all these kids just for some entertainment. Hollywood needs to be stopped in general. They have too much control over society and they are ruining children.

      I'm 27 too. I agree animation is way better than live action. There's no meetoo on cartoons because they don't exist. However there is a rule 34 on underage characters which I'm against. To solve this problem is to not search any cartoon characters on any search term and just watch the show offline

This is what I found from a google search as to why the show was named that. The title of the name at least makes a little more sense because I honestly had no clue why until after you asked that in your video....However, I think too many people lack the ability to read the room. Like...I get it was a joke they said when they were little, but can we please think about the message it comes across as to those who lack that context?! Hey, love the content, no disagreements. About 5:10 we start to address that making a formal complaint usually leads to the insinuation of termination of employment, and you later state "welcome to the industry", again I totally agree, but this behavior is rampant in almost all industries. I remember reporting a coworker who would follow me around and make lewd comments and I had told her to leave me alone eventually, I had a girlfriend. It persisted so I reported it to my HR. Not knowing it was her HUSBAND and he was all like "she is just joking with you, blah blah blah, man up, pull up your pants, etc." So I asked to be moved to a different line at least, as she was my superior, he said he would see what he could do. I went back to work as I used my smoke break to have this discussion. Not even two minutes later she approached me with something like "my husband told me what you said, if you don't want to be on this line you don't have to work here" mind you, this was a very well paying job with stock options and full benefits and I have a child to think about, so I dealt with it for over 4 months until I got a promotion and moved to a different building. Something similar happened when I reported my boss for forcing me to carry over 100lbs of glass up an unrailed staircase without PPE, I resisted doing it but did it under deress of being fired, I feĺ and hurt my back, had to go to the hospital, who obviously put in the information my delirious self gave, the next day I was called as I was resting that if I wouldn't be able to return timely they would have to let me go, I returned like a week and a half later, against the advisement of my doctor, they treated me very different and some life happened and I ended up in the hospital again, as I didn't give myself the proper healing time or physical therapy before returning so I got re injured and was let go that morning on my way to the hospital at like 1030 am. Heck, my old Wendy's manager was sleeping with a girl I knew was 16 he had to at least be 45, I said something once as like a joke as I was a kid myself, never have I ever been so berated by an individual, he then called the police on me claiming i stole from the store, luckily cameras and photos with time stamps from snapchat proved my innocence.The issue is in all industries and it's so disturbing, and it damages my already dwindling will to live.

    What makes it more ridiculous, centuries ago the stage mastered fake kissing where there is no actual kissing: from behind a curtain then revealing with make-up smudges the intent, to the Broadway dip, to even having one actor hold a piece of paper between the two actors faces. Those are just a few. You would think, especially with a lot of these shows having a stage-like setup, these tactics would be used more often. ESPECIALLY with child actors.
    The whole thing just makes me sick and want to hold onto my girls tightly. Also, makes me thankful that my parents told me essentially only local theatre productions (schools or public stage shows) when I expressed an interest with acting, even though I wanted to do film. I still remember my mom saying in no uncertain terms, "It's a hard business even as an adult, but going in as a child will only mess you up."

    I think you made a great point that applies to a lot of institutions. It comes from the top down. In my experience, in most industries, when it comes to management, there are some good apples in a field of rotten ones. Even just as someone who worked for one of these companies as a server in their parks with no union or anything I had a friend get SA'd by a manager and when she went to HR and they told her not to do anything because it was her word against theirs, despite having texts where she confronted him and he just made excuses for his actions and never denied it. These issues are the canary in the mine for all of corporate America. Glad to see you guys are starting the right conversations.

I think it’s a really fine line and just worry about the possible effects that could have on a survivor when it’s the public who releases that. Maybe talk to her and see how she feels about specifically putting a name and face publicly to that horrific experience. Either way, her story as it stands helps tear Nick down!! Which it needs to!! Thank you soooo much for boosting this public info!!
