I followed the instructions at the end of this vid it worked for me : place car in park, turn off the engine, place selector in 4 wheel high, apply and hold the breaks, restart the engine, place the car in drive, place selector in 2 wheel. you should hear it change under the car and the dash should return to normal, place the car in park, release the breaks.
Hi. Thanks! 2012 Xterra 4WD light came on after parked for a few days. I did the same thing you did. Everything worked and the light never came on. Thanks again.
What worked for me is after all else failed. Turn off 4x4 and it kept blinking for forever. I put the vehicle in reverse and move about 10 feet and and it will instantaneously go off and go to FWD.

@@MuhammadYousufMaher there is no physical switch, Its stands for Automatic Transfer Park warning light. the sign with the 4 wheels disappears. The gearbox is stuck in Neutral position and will not park. You need to drive the car forward and backwards a few times to assist in the transfer case to shift to the desired gear selection. you must do it on a flat surface. Switching from your current reduction gear 4Hi or to 4Lo will help. switching the engine on and off and cycling through the reduction gears also helps.
@@saifuddinahmadable Thank you for your reply. In my case 4H 4L and 2 wheel all are working fine but this light turn on after AC leakage maintenance (dashboard removal). After computer reset/fault code reset, this light turn off and 4x4 display was also working normally until I switch off my car and back on. It looks like lose connector/low voltage something because of which when car start it appear again.
Fadi Joy Unfortunately I didn't find solution, I've exhausted all internet option for a solution. Next step will be to take it to the dealer for $100 diagnostics

Mine worked fine except I had to go to 4lo.
