How To Get Graphic Design Clients in 2023
As a freelance web designer/dev these were really good tips to hear. Especially the networking part, this is immensely value when it comes to freelancing.
As a Black graphic designer and illustrator, it's cool to see design specific content from a fellow Black designer!
You rasist
Invaluable tips as always
❤
I finally think I have my niche! This was really helpful, I was motivated before but I’m feeling even more excited to get into itttttt
Your videos are very insightful, I am also really enjoying the process of freelance...😃
Super helpful video as I am a new freelancer looking for work! Thank you!
Excellent information. Especially for young people just starting out. Especially the topic about having a 'niche' [focus] and not trying to do everything! I have subscribed to your channel.
Wow I really feel encouraged by this vid
I am going again full force❤🎉😊
Really enjoyed this ! Appreciate the tips fr
Thanks for watching!
Thank you for your insight

Thank uuu!
I love this so much ! Very helpful
Thank you! 💕
💖
thank you.
great video and tips
I really appreciate your videos! I took notes on this one! I’m a freelance graph designer and photographer from Fayetteville, NC, but I’m also a writer, designer and photographer for a news paper in the city. Finding the balance of client work and 9-5 design work is insanely tricky but I’ve learned a lot from your videos, can’t wait for more!
Thank you for watching!! That 9-5/Freelance balance is no joke but getting in control with your freelance capacity helps a lot. 😊
How does one get in contact with you
Aye listen!!!!! Craigs and his list had some hits! As a college dropout looking to get some design work i was in there going crazy lmao
😂😂 most random gigs ever, & I was gonna do em all idc!
Good work
Though I’m not in this same line of work, these tips and guidance is so versatile and definitely gonna utilize.
👏🏾 *especially* knowing your ideal client!
finally somone that gets straight to the point!!
I’m easily annoyed when I’m watching UA-cam videos on these topics so I’m tryna do the opposite of everything I hate LMAO
Loved it! Question: How do yo uset yourself up as a freelancer? Like- hwo do you move from W-2 to whatever it is you need ... systems/workflow/etc.
This needs a lot of detail, I’ll make a video on this!
@@HelloQori Looking forward to it!
I've been freelancing since 2,5 years now, and I love it!
Hi, I'm looking into becoming a freelancer. Any advice you can provide for me?
@@ShondaD_ Hi, it depends a bit on how much work experience you already have. Are you fresh out of university or have you already worked in the media or design industry? If not, I would definitely recommend working in an agency for 3-5 years to gain experience and soft skills and build up a network. When I started my own business, I actively introduced myself to many companies and agencies as a freelancer. This helped me a lot to actively acquire new clients.
@@ShondaD_ If you have any specific questions, feel free to ask :)
@s.w.4409 Thank you so much! 😊 I am really a career changer pivoting into digital marketing, really. I desire to do freelancing, but I just wanted to know if it's worth doing.
@@ShondaD_ I can't tell you whether it's worth starting your own business in your individual case. There are too many variables that I don't know: your experience, your skill level, your previous network, your financial reserves.
If you don't currently have the financial reserves to survive for 6-12 months, I would first recommend looking for a permanent job in the marketing sector. Here you can A: save money as security as soon as you are self-employed and B: gain experience and contacts.
But if you already have experience and contacts in the industry and have a sufficient financial cushion - why not take the plunge?

How do u write a email marketing for your business
What should I do as a designer who has only worked as in house corporate marketing designer. If I want to become freelance.
I wish you could touch on how to know the scope of what a new freelance designer can actually do and not bite off more than they can chew. I find that is a big question for me. How many clients to take on, work-family balance. I am married so that is important to me. I can think of other topics but these are most important for me.
Hi! I think I can do a video on how I personally determine my capacity this week. Happy to hear the other topics you have in mind as well.
That would be fantastic! Hardly any UA-camrs get back to their viewers so fast! Thank you!@@HelloQori
Does being a videographer/photographer using graphic design on my work count as one niche?
Hey Qori, You're making really high quality content, I just loved the video, But it looks like it's getting hard for you to actually manage this channel along with your freelance , I was thinking if I could help you grow the reach of the channel, By doing the Editing, Thumbnail and Posting videos properly, By the help of my team.
Refreshing to see a young lady like yourself in this space ✊🏽
Hi can you help me how to be a freelancer pls ?
Thanx helpful video! Do you have a college degree for any of this or do the work you do require a college degree?
Not required, “recommended,” but you can do it all while being self taught in design! Look into portfolio school. What’s most important is consistent application of everything you learn along the way.
Oh & I have a degree in Advertising with a concentration in Art Direction.

Make video on how to find and generate free leads
Will do 😊
Please I really need you but I'm from Nigeria.
I hear you, but I think I'm way too deep in to "pick a niche".
What makes you think so
@@HelloQori I think naturally, I’m seen as a “do it all” creator, so even if a niche is picked, I still know I’ll be called upon to do things outside of that, maybe even more than.
I know what you mean by an all around designer. Some jobs I did, I would have to wear multiple hats when designing. But the overall video, I think is helpful and maybe picking up a niche might help me freelancer and finding a career. Thank you for making this video. I will be taking notes.
@@kennethe.montgomery2785 Yeah this video is extremely helpful. I love this channel so much.
Well, choosing a niche means you also learn how to say no to things that aren’t reflective of that. When I started, I did it all. Most creators can do a lot of different things. I made this point basically to say picking a niche helps you focus in one lane and scale, so if you’re interested in growing your freelance business, that’s one (strong) way to do it.
I have tried but I have failed All the time.
Networking & social media are going to be your friend!! Keep going. Especially with social media right now, I highly recommend Threads, UA-cam, IG, & TikTok for leads. Don’t need to go viral to get them.
Email me your portfolio if you’d like! And/or join my discord if you haven’t already. Lots of help there.
