What threat does 20 rounds of ammo create? The US state dept should get involved but they won't, they hate your American rights and they side with totalitarian regimes like the one in the T&C. It's that simple.

Listen things can be overlooked in luggage from previous trips. Sometimes I pack in a hurry and sometimes I don't remove everything from my luggage when I get home. Bottom line is TSA should have found it in their checked luggage before they left the USA. You have to fill out a special form and submit it in advance to going to the airport for ammo or weapons. I once forgot I had a box cutter in my back jeans pocket while going through the security metal detector. I had just gone straight from work to the airport and forgot it was there. This happened a year after 911 and TSA understood and excepted my explanation. They took the box cutter and threw it away. Another time, my 12 year grandson had a small.pocket knife in a pocket of his backpack from a boy scout trip. We missed it because it was caught behind the seam. We did check his bag, but failed to see it. TSA took it and threw it away. There was no malintent either time. I was held a the security line because a forgot I had a 4 oz yogurt in my backpack, again they threw it out. Full disclosure I'm a white grandma, not sure if that influenced the outcome or not. I do hope they get back home to their families sooner than later. 💯
