I'm glad someone still performs the 6-8 version of "Big C" it's definitely a different feel from the 2-4 version we play today. I have the old record of Cal Band performing that same exact version you guys play today. Anyway, see you guys at picnic day and I hope you guys have a great season!
Actually yes, I have the old vinyl record of the cal band preforming it. In fact, if you look up the music band page on myspace, I put up the Cal Band 6/8 version. It's very similar, except the Cal Band version has some crazy picc parts.
the 6/8 big C is totally cool.
yeah, its definitely different. If I remember right, it's the original Big C arrangement from way back that Harold P. Williams did at Cal, early 1910s. Not sure if that's acurate though.
I like hearing the 2/4 that you guys do after playing the 6/8 all the time!
