- Everyone in India has their own special way of making chai. Some of like it kadak, some of us like it flavoured and some of us even drink it without milk! Shreya, Dhruv, Aniket and Madhumita exchanged chai recipes and found out who has the best one. Which recipe would you try?

I’ve never had tea with sugar. Mostly because the west drinks tea like East Asians do( except brits, they’re weird). But chai is in a class all its own. Must have milk and sugar!!!! 🤪

yeah i liked her version best. She put too much sugar but otherwise its perfect. I want the tea flavor to really come through when I'm drinking chai. Thats how my mother does it, so thats how i prefer to do it. Of course I've had tea with the other stuff in it but its nowhere near as good.

Yeah and Shreya had the best chai recipe imo. I just want that nice black tea flavor in my chai. I enjoy cinnamon and cardamon occasionally but I prefer the more pure taste.

My tea loving folks, here is the best chai recipe which I have devised after years and years of experience
Will serve - 2-3 people (depends on cup/mug size)
Prep time- pyar me samay nahi dekhte
Ok so here we go:
1. Pour 2 cups of water in the chai wala pan. Once it comes to a boil add 1 big tablespoon of chai patti, 5-6 freshly crushed black peppercorns (please use fresh and not some random powder), crushed ginger, 2 cardamom pods crushed (2 MEANS 2 NOT 1 OR 3), 4-5 tulsi leaves (trust me on this).
2. Let all these goodies simmer for 3 mins. (Please don't hurry in adding milk otherwise chai will get curdled because of ginger and your mood will get fucked up.)
3. Add a little more than 2 cups of milk and now sit back and relax. You gotta let your chai simmer for 5 mins. Isse kam kia toh bhai bornvita daal ke dudh pe lo.
4. Take your favorite cup and pour this awesomeness.
My favorite chai time snacks- Rusks, parle-g, marie gold biscuits, namkeeeennnnn, parathe, pakore, etc etc etc. (This list doesn't end)

Edit: as usual I forgot to mention sugar (not a big fan :p)
Please don't add a lot of sugar or else you'll ruin the chai. 1 big spoon should be enough. It's quite subjective though.

My tea: Add water +grated ginger +elaichi bring it to boil
Add tea powder let it boil
Add milk and let it simmer well
In your tea cup,add some jaggery as per your taste
Turn off the gas let the tea stop boiling and then strain it and mix it with jaggery have sip 😎

my chai:
put one water in whatever ur making a chai in, add grated ginger like about a spoon,1/4 spoon of black pepper(u can skip this), i spopon chai patti and one spoon sugar(for one cup chai)and all of this should be added before the water has started to boil. After the water boils add one cup milk and once its boiled strain it and drink.
Them- the pepper powder is making it spicy
Me- who adds pepper powder and clove to my regular milk tea 🙄

Perfect chai for me: add Half cup milk and 3/4th cup water to the pan, add sugar, tea leaves, ginger, black pepper, and cardamom.
Let it boil and reduce until the end result is around one cup.

Everyone has their own preference. Hence for me ,Shreya would have been best skipping the last teaspoon sugar because for most of us & for most of the time tea is just 4 constituents. As Simple 😁.
The most important thing is the quality of tea leaves.

I love tea and coffee both,but tea a little more. I have two recipes, one is tulsi , ginger,cloves and cinnamon with little milk and without sugar and the second is cloves, ginger and cardamom and black pepper in both recipes.
