- This video was recorded 2 months ago. I debated on uploading it because I did not want to throw the company under the bus. But I think that before making a purchase a consumer should see both positive and negative reviews, and then make the decision of going forward with the purchase or not. I honestly just think that I got a bad batch or something. But their customer service was phenomenal and I did end up getting a full refund which I appreciated.
I love that this video is unsponsored. It's hard to find unsponsored videos with extensions.
She is not lying. I purchased from Her Given Hair, Better Lengths and Big Chop Hair and all three were rip-offs. The worst one was Big Chop Hair. I purchased the bundle and made my own clip-ins and was never able to wear it out. Better Lengths’ offered more clip-ins and was nice but for only a short period of time. One night I put it back in a ponytail and I only put water on it and by the time I got home from the store it was matted and from that point it was ruined. Her given hair offered me a little bit of wear however the shedding was terrible and I just didn’t get longevity; none of the hair had longevity. This leads me to believe that the hair and the black hair market is probably a rip-off by now only because it’s way overpriced they really don’t offer great products on most occasions . I shouldn’t have to spend $1000 for hair in order to get six months worth of wear. I think black women should stand up against these companies start investing in our own hair products quality hair products and not just be out for profit.

I always buy bounce essential afro clipins 16 18 inch.. the best experience they last up to 3 months spray with some water an go.. only thing Is after 3 months they start looking like dreads
.takes 2 weeks to come and there black owned.. .. only thing cant flat iron or rod..comes in natural state but can mimic twist outs..i love it..they are $280.. message me for more info..i have pics on instagram..

OMG it cannot be human hair! All of these UA-camrs should be ashamed of themselves for promoting this product. I’ve watched videos of some of them saying how much shedding and the many issues they have but yet still say how great it is. And don’t forget to tag the company. Like FB UA-cam should be held liable or these UA-camrs.
I feel maybe they make special good quality hair for youtubers. I have heard some companies do this. Or maybe they are just lying for a coin lol but this video is definitely proof! I have another bad batch of hair too! It was the blow out kinky hair. Girl so much money wasted!!!

I baught the kinky natural clip ins the hair sheds ALOT, tangles, knots, and no matter how much u moisturize it drys out. I wouldn't recommend them
Sis, thank you for making this video! This is a truthful and honest video, and I am so sorry that I didn't find your video before making a purchase. They just got me for 500.00 and the hair lasted for one month. It balled up into one big, matted knot after three washings. I am trying to get something for my money now, but they have not been responsive. Thank you for trying to save us some money.

What I learned from working with Kinky weave is that is not best used to be stuck in your head. If the hair is processed to hell to be kinky. It takes a lot to keep it up. Your best bet is wear wig or clip ins for anything kinkier then Deep Curly.

Everyone please listen to her...I had the same experience with my coily wig in just 3 months or less. I was so shocked it was so beautiful at first..all ruined now. Had to throw it away. 500 gone just like that.
I have been dealing with HGH for about 4 years. I've used their clip ins, wefted hair, wigs, accessories. Pretty much everything. My last 3 wig orders were horrible. I had their coily texture. I'm mad that I ordered 3 times before I figured ok something has changed with their hair. I would wash my wigs & they would matt up sooooo bad. Not to mention the hair was so dry & would shed so much. To the point bald spots were developing. After having issues with the 3rd wig. I went back & forth with them via email. They finally agreed to send me a new replacement wig. I got that wig about 3-4 weeks ago. I wore it was about 3 weeks. Taking it off every night & just trying to be extra cautious with it. Well low & behold I decided to dye it black. Because that dusty natural brown wasn't working for me. OMG....that wig matted up something TERRIBLE. To the point that I couldn't even wear it again. So I'm shipping both of these trashy wigs back to them & filing a dispute with my bank to get my damn money back. I've spent too much money with this company over the years. To now being sent garbage hair. At this rate, they will be out of business within the near future. There are too many hair companies out there to be dealing with such foolishness. Shame on Hergivenhair. They have definitely lost a once loyal customer. My sister ordered her 1st wig from them & hers also started matting. But I guess she hasn't wasted enough money with them. Because they refused to compensate her. Spend your money elsewhere guys. Save yourself the matting & shedding aggravation!!

Of course now I'm reading comments of people having the same issues withi ChinaLace that I had with Hergiven. So I emailed ChinaLace & told them to cancel my order. Sometimes trying to go the cheaper route isn't always better. I'm going to bite the bullet & just get me a coily wig from HeatFreeHair. It costs more but they are located in DC, not overseas & they are American & their hair is quality. They have clip ins. But not sure what your budget is. They have 30% off sale right now. Also check out Yummyextensions & JaceBeauty. Both are American companies. I used both of them. Yummy is my favorite. They just don't have kinky textures. Once Yummy gets kinky, I'll order from them again. Good luck dear.

For the past 10 hours Ive been watching so many videos here on UA-cam on how they used to buy hair from other companies just to copy it, how the hair sheds and how they are a Chinese company that caters to black people(because we really are the #1 consumers when it comes to hair). Im starting to believe that they send the "better" hair to certain influencers and the garbage hair to everyone else. But i will definitely be looking elsewhere.

Thank you for the review. The kinky texture hair looks matted and nasty on the website and I wouldn't touch it with a 10 foot pole! I can wear my own hair like that for free...I have been watching hergivenhair videos carefully. A lot of the hair appears to perform well only when wet, nearly dry, or loaded down with moisturizing products. Also, the fact that another reviewer said she does not believe the hair ordinary customers receive is the same quality as the demo hair paid reviewers get did not escape my notice. Finally, missing from the website are the main things I want to know: What kind of hair is this and what is its origin?
Omg wow the hair is definitely matted. I have their kinky and coily textures and never experienced any problems. I wore about everyday for 3 months. I want to order the Kinky Straight now but I'm scared. Too many bad experiences with other companies.

I had this same exact issue with the coily hair. I thought I did something wrong. I thought my hair stylist had installed the weave wrong and that's why the bottom wefts seemed wayyy longer than the 14-inch wefts. And then 3 years went by. I completely forgot about my terrible experience and decided to get their curly full lace wig, just because of the reviews on UA-cam. It's coming in the mail and I hope this situation turns out a lot better with the curly hair, but we shall see!
I hope the wig turns out well. I am shocked this has happened with the coily hair. I think maybe we receive bad batches. I would hope so lol I'm just happy I got my money back because I have been disappointed twice with their company

I purchased their hair also and although mine didn't matte like this it shed on an UNBELIEVABLE level. I was so frustrated especially when you spend so much money on hair. I want to buy a quality wig for natural texture but I REFUSE to buy another one from them. You're better than me. And I bought a Upart. It does look natural in it's curly state, flawless out of the box - but with EACH AND EVERY WASH you lose SOOOOOO MUCH hair until there' literally none left. I didn't even wear mine often and I lost 50% or more in the 1st year, run your fingers through it drenched or condish'd shed shed SHED. This is year two with this and I've lost 75 to 80% of they hair so it's trash now. And I FOLLLOOOOOWED instructions to the T on deep condish, proper storage etc. NOPE, the hair is trash for the price - no matter what I did, every styling, every wash, ever detangle session led to more and more hair loss. I think it's the reason my tub was clogged! I would have gladly paid $50/60 for it, but not the almost $500+ I paid. DEFINITELY NOT worth it, don't do it!!!!! I need suggestions on a higher quality product. I've even wrote on their IG, kind of felt like a troll - but it has to be said. This product is NOT high quality. I even got pissed watching that Natural Mary girl - bc according to her you're buying the highest quality - which couldn't be further from the truth!
Krystal F I’m sorry this happened to you. I wish you could get your money back. This brand and another brand kind of ruined the natural wigs/wefts for me so I no longer wear them. I wish there was a better brand I could suggest. ☹️

Wasted money buying their hair (kinky full lace) back in February this year and it sheds like crazy, like it's so thin now. I took good care of it but it just be coming out no matter what. Their wigs are way too expensive to be shedding the way they do.
She is not lying, these are some of the very same issues in which I have found with this hair. The first purchase for the wefts were $114.00, and I received the what appears to be off black but brown, so I ordered for a second time and I specified black, well after shampooing the hair all of the color washed out and now I have off black/brown again. Very disappointing.

I've been buying HGH for about a year and the quality has gotten really bad. At first I thought it was just a bad batch but no! The shedding is ridiculous! Looking to find another company because I don't believe complaining will help with them especially after what was said in this video. I specifically searched you tube for any complaints about this hair and company because all I could find was good reviews and boasting about the hair. However, the hype are old and now that they have reeled us in, they have gone down on their quality....FOR SHAME!!!
try CurlsCurls all the same wavy/curly/kinky/coily textures and better quality. Their prices start at 219 but they often have flash sales that are cheaper. I have their melissa wig and she is still lasting since Spring. It doesnt take a month to deliver like HGH and the company doesn't send your wig in a garbage DHL bag it sends it in a nice box.

They shed normally depending on which wig you get. I think Lora sheds less than Melissa in my experience. I would say its normal shedding if you have natural curly-coily hair (I do). Think about when you take a shower and wash it, it'll shed the same amount. Make your hand into a perfect circle or think about a bite sized cookie or piece of candy and thats how much shedding it is. It only sheds after styling, or when its wet like most other kinky curly units I've had. It've never had shedding any other time.
Melissa looks very natural and it has a natural luster to it. Not silky or too shiny. The texture is very soft. The curls are to the roots and its perfect for braiding and twist outs. Also the shrinkage is REAL. So I recommend at least 16 inch if you're 5'6/5'7 in height. Without any product and in its dry state it'll appear like normal 3-4 ethnic hair unless you moisturise or define the hair to make the curls pop. They have different textures and they all match the hair textures 100%. I have lora, melissa, and caroline and Melissa is true to 3c/4a and lora is a true natural curly so if you're not used to 3-4 hair then she might be hard to care for. I wore Melissa natural, in pigtails, low bun, braid out, twist out, and in regular twists and everyone thought my big chop grew faster. But its worth the investment, they also have recent reviews on Melissa on the site so you can see for yourself her in the dry and in the defined state. If you have any other questions let me know :)

My daughter purchased the coily hair and we had the exact same experience! It's like wool! We spent approximately $500 of our hard earned money so she could look nice for her new job and this cap lasted maybe 3 months before it went left! We tried everything to restore it to no avail...disappointed to say the least!

Thank you for doing this video. The same thing happened to me a couple years ago. I bought from Her Give Hair and the hair did not last. It matted up and I spent a lot of money on the hair. The customer service was horrible. I never got my money back and I never bought from them again.
The price of these wigs alone turns me off. You wear most wigs for a very short time, before the style changes or you get tired of it. The women who are advertising these wigs always talk about game-changing. Paying 300 to 500 dollars for a wig for most people is not practical. Thanks for your review on Hergiven Hair.

I wonder if they are starting to sell hair from a different supplier or something? Because I bought mine, clip ins, (kinky and coily) maybe 3 years ago and it's still doing fine. A little conditioner and that hair turned to butter.

Companies like this think that we Black women are so desperate to have nice hair that they'll make anything to entice us to buy, knowing full well that their product is trash. They advertise the good stuff and send us the garbage and then blow us off when we complain. Apparently, this company is in business for quick money.

Yeeesssss I spent 400$ 3 years ago on the clip ins. Yall no lie I was pissed!!! I even bought them damn products they suggested in their brochure that comes with the hair..... Ladies DO NOT. IF YOU DO DONT WASH CO WASH OR WASH AT ALL. CRUNCHY AS HELL. ALL MY FEELINGS STARTING TO COME BACK ABT IT.

no problem! yes they did give m a full refund. i opened up a case on paypal. the customer service is great, the hair just wasnt. i have the coily hair..the 3 type hair i believe and it lasted me a few wears but i really believe you can find much better hair elsewhere.
I wanted to order from them but changed my mind. I found the other website called kinkstry.com and even they are on Instagram and i thinn their hair is better than hergivenhair.

I have learned that you have to treat it like your hair because it’s real hair so you have to use products on it, twist out and scarf nightly, etc. I just feel like you gotta know how to take care of it cuz I buy from them a lot and my experience is different. Gotta realize it’s nappy hair not hair from Brazil. BUT... that might not be the case with the hair they sent you.

That’s sad to hear. This video is 3 years old and the quality of the hair still hasn’t improved? Did you purchase through PayPal? Even if you didn’t, see if you can open a case through PayPal or your credit card company
I just ordered the Curly wefts, but after watching your video I emailed them to cancel my order since it had not shipped. Initially they were responding, but now they’ve gone AWOL and are no longer responding. Just wish I would’ve seen this review before purchasing. Do you think filing a claim through PayPal will get my money back even though they never shipped the item yet?

You are right; thank you for this video because I thought it was my fault until I started to do some research today and found your video. I bought Coily Life Wig [384] HAIR TEXTURE: Coily (3C-4A) WIG TYPE: Lace Front Wig(13*1), and I only wore it for two weeks; I decided to put some conditioner in it to soften it. After the conditioner, the hairline was tangled entirely with so many knots! I tried everything, and I couldn't fix it! I even paid for some expensive conditioner and rewashed it.
But it was getting worst. I can't believe I lost $356.90 for this. Just two weeks, this is terrible.
same here. the full refund -minus 2nd time around back n forth trying to get it right. I felt so relieved to get most of my payment back but i cannot say i ill ever go back that way with my coins. it felt like a private war of a sorts if i may say ..just be careful out here in these mean hair company streets!!

Thus far the worst hair ever. I just purchased HerGivenHair in the coily clip ins and the hair was shedding horribly. Like in clumps every day. Biggest waste of $200+.
Did you contact the company? They might offer to send new ones or even a refund.
I wish I got a refund back. After doing my research from seeing the address from where the package from them came from I discovered they're just an asian owned company selling cheap hair from a supplier off of Alibaba.com . Anyone can get that same exact hair they are selling from the website for just about $70 for two bundles and I spent over $200. No refund or even replacing my order, such a big dissappointment.
I actually should've known better because I manage social media influencers on getting them paid/sponsored collaborations with brands, and all the positive youtube videos on this hair were simply just sponsored post so all the girls had to say good things about it. smh

I broke down and bought them and Im sorry I dont like them either I have bought much cheaper hair clip ins and I had a better turnout... It feels stringy I bought kinky returned because it was too kinky then I got coily and no ma'am. I went to check to see if I got the same type as the chicks on youtube and yeup but me no likey ... I have not had much success with them I got 20 22 maybe I should have gotten shorter..12 and 14 dunno but I can't spend them much on hair like that...It looks good just not for me... it doesnt get the kinky coily afro feel

HerGivenHair, that's what you said on another unsponsored UA-camr's video with horrible experience similar to this. There should be no such thing as a bad batch, especially with how expensive these wigs are.
You guys take black people as fools. You charge outrageous prices and you know exactly what you’re doing when you send crappy hair.
What is your regimen with this hair? What products are you using? I'd suggest using a stronger mister with 90:10 of water/water-soluble conditioner. I use this hair frequently and this hair looks nothing like what I'm used to. I see that they issued a refund but can you walk me through your routine? I'd love to help,
I only used that "mist" of spray for the video but typically I would detangle it every night, moisturize it, and then put the hair into multiple twist to sleep in. The hair always had very little movement and even matted as you can see in the video. I took very good care of the hair because I really did want to love it but no matter what I did, I got the results that I did. But the hair is honestly matted up in a bag somewhre. Shortly after this video I removed it from my head because I just could not deal with it and I have no intention to ever again.

Shake n go has a better brand and the hair texture is bomb and real hair and the price is worth it I've had my clip ins for a year and I'm very satisfied. I see your point and I think that they are mixing that hair, it should not be that hard to manage . The prices are ridiculous. I never trusted Her given hair . I watched videos and some hair looked alright and some seemed blended or some sort yours look like locs.
I like their coily hair. I own the kinky, but have yet to learn how to maintain it.

OMG! Same experience with my order... 14" and 16" was ordered. My stylist was alarmed at how much longer the 16" was relative to the 14". I still went ahead and installed the 16" at the bottom .. big mistake. I have to now pin up the bottom pieces to make it appear shorter. I hope you're able to get the refund.
T K I actually did end up getting a full refund. They were very nice about it and even offered to send a new bundle or have their stylist revive my bundle. but I was over it.

Have you tried detoxing the hair not excusing them but the hair is human from someone’s head meaning if they didn’t take care of there hair before being donated/sold to this company it’s not going to be in any position to be styled. Try using a clarifying shampoo then moisturizing shampoo with a quality conditioner to get the hair back to health. Well considering to get it to appear kinky curly, kinky, or curly they had to process that hair under metal rods for 10-20 days so it'll have a permanent pattern to it. So that hair probably was damaged or processed incorrectly to begin with.
Yup same thing happened to me and I stopped ordering from them. It sheds a lot as well, I don’t see what all the hype is about it.

Hello, I purchased their hair, I’m having soo many issues, and when I was researching if anyone is having similar issues I came across your review. Do you have any advice on receiving a refund because the quality absolutely doesn’t match the price at all.
I honestly just had to get a refund There was no way to revive the hair. You can contact their customer service, I remember they offered to either send me new hair or to send back the hair I received and they would fix it for me and send it back to me.

You have to take care of ur extensions like ur natural hair. Looks like u sleep directly on ur hair and it has not been comb you put in protective when sleeping. Nor is it properly moisturized.

Honestly I love this hair company. The hair mimics our hair the most and it’s beautiful. You probably did not take care of the hair properly.
Xiomara Marte that is definitely not the case. As I’ve stated in the video I took care of the hair as if it were my own. I have the coily wefts which were fine so I know how to take care of the hair

Try Lexy at "Unkempt Kurls" on UA-cam and Instagram. I have her Afro Curly lace wig for over a year now- not one issue. She sells other curl types. The wigs are similar to the "Her given hair" prices, but the hair is long lasting, excellent quality and is medium to high density. Excellent customer service too. I would order from her again.

This same exact thing happened to me with this company and I told them about it and they made it seem like I just didn’t care for it properly. Before I bought the hair i searched and searched and couldn’t even find BAD reviews on the hair. Normally even with good reviews there are still a few bad ones .. every single review was great. I should have taken that as a sign. Ugh I could go on and on about it, I wasted $400. Never again.
