He got the dimension 70 from "(28+12)-110=70" where 28 is the radius of the circle 56. 12 from the box 110 the total length. I hope this will help.

You haven't made the same part as the drawing. The top left part is meant to be tangential to the top right circle. But nice video :)

This drawing is wrong @10:10.. it's not straight line it's tangent see at 0:49 who all noticed this mistake
