Yes guys! Crouchy here and I have got a quick favour to ask - If you are enjoying this content please hit that like and subscribe button. It is quick, easy and totally free and helps us to grow the pod and carry on bringing you the content you love! Cheers! 🍻⚽
The names of these time stamps are hilarious. Section “Brighton’s database” and Chris has just said “the PGMOLPQR need to focus on fixing the wifi on trains”. Love it lads 😂
VAR has neutered football, stripping the game of its raw emotion. Scoring a goal used to be the ultimate high for players and fans, but that joy has been dulled by the constant threat of VAR overturning the moment. Whether the decision is right or wrong, it’s undeniably made the game less enjoyable. If I were to put on my conspiracy hat, I’d say VAR is a tool designed to influence outcomes for hidden agendas. I’ve yet to meet a fan who genuinely enjoys it or thinks it’s improved the game. In fact, most of my mates now prefer Championship football.
Yeah it's like the High Performance Podcast and Diary of a CEO...cringe intros. People have already clicked the video, they don't need to be baited in the intro.
Lads, Muff to Portrush, where Pete was a few weeks ago and where the Open is next year, is just under an hour in the car. I'm sure you will be well looked after in Londonderry, if you decided to stay there, and there are great golf courses at Castlerock and Portstewart too. You wont be disappointed if you come for a touch of golf and end up knee deep in Muff
In relation to VAR. As a Heart of Midlothian fan we were in a cup semi final and one of our players, Kingsley, got a second yellow and sent off for simulation in the box for The Rangers. Turns out the The Rangers boy absolutely clattered him (it was obvious at the time) so it prevented us being put down to 10 men and awarded us a clear cut pen. I think it's mostly good, but it's the speed and inconsistency. In Scotland we've started getting monthly videos discussing why decisions are being made with Ref & VAR on UA-cam to help with transparency.
Regarding VAR, aren’t they only allowed to intervene if it’s a straight red card offence or a penalty? So no fouls that happen outside the penalty area or no yellow card offences, so in the case of the Rashford situation, it would never have been a straight red card so VAR couldn’t get involved despite the fact that it should have been a 2nd yellow card & then a red. I guess there has to be a line drawn somewhere, if it gets involved in the 2nd yellow card then in theory it has to be involved in every yellow card which means it could be involved in just about every tackle while it looks to see if it’s a foul & then a yellow card & in my opinion there are already too many yellow cards in the game for fouls that don’t deserve a yellow card! Not every foul warrants a yellow card yet virtually every time VAR reviews a penalty decision, if a penalty is given it’s a yellow card (minimum) but if the foul occurred outside the area it wouldn’t be a yellow card. The game has become too sanitised.
The VAR thing, watch back the highlights from England France 2022, Sterling (I think) got fouled, clear foul as well and then France went and scored because of it.
Keep VAR for offsides and then the only other time it comes into play is after a team "challenges" a play like in the NFL. If they challenge succeeds they keep their challenge and if the challenge does not succeed you lose your challenge for the remainder of the game
After watching the first three minutes of this video, I wish I could insert the meme of Patrice Viera screaming “I love this game”. This podcast is amazing. You guys make me laugh every time.
New intro kind of ruins the episode. I know all channels are adopting the "coming up" intro to videos, but it's not necessary in my opinion, and kind of annoying.
With player saying urgh when kicking the ball, would this not been seen as some sort of infringement by the ref? Not sure what the rules are these days it's been a while since I played football - lol! but I remember not being able to say my ball back in the day, you'd have to say Crouchy's ball! So maybe footballers are careful what they say when recieving and playing the ball because the ref is a Karl
Chris, although joking, is entirely right. Get 3G, 4G sorted first. Make stuff that works and then implement it. I can’t make a f*cking phone call on my phone let alone use the internet 😂😂🤦🏻♂️
First things Muff is not in Northern Ireland. It is in Donegal which is in the Republic of Ireland. Probably best you apologise for this. Its a touchier subject than you may think.
In fairness, Chris did say it was in Donegal. The rest was simple slip up. Calm down! Anyway , got to run, got a flight to England now! Cardiff, here I come! ...... 😁

Sidders at the end 😂 Brilliant
Hi lads,
I’m entertained. Keep up the the good work !!!!
All the best !
Offside needs to be judged on where the feet are not by anything not touching the ground that may be ahead of the defender.
All timer episode this one. Wow 😂
Officually Approved by Muff... the guys in the background laughing is always priceless.
Underrated pun by Chris there - "if you can follow through with the request"
What a great pod, laugh from start to finish. No other pod would have subjects like 'muff divers' and shitting yourself 😂😂😂😂😂
15:48 yeah but have you seen Paul Alcock - 1st Google image isn’t the most flattering 😂
What's with the intro? Get rid of it I want to watch without knowing what's coming up. It spoils the show for me. It's like another advert...
Just double tap it five times you plum

It’s for retention. You can just skip it if you indend to watch the whole podcast regardless.
It helps with UA-cam viewage, data shows it helps new people to your videos
Tough life innit? 😂😂

As someone who works in the game as an analyst - there's definitely stats that quantify what Modric does on the pitch!
Everyone knows the international sound of booting a ball....AV ITTTT!!!!!

It was Saka (you big racist 😜) but I agree there was a foul in the build-up to Tchouameni's goal.

Ah beat me to it!
Trying to make us regret asking for pictures edited in ffs 😂
Have to ask, how can Steve say that since VAR, refereeing decisions aren't talked about anymore after the game???
The film Wedding crashes will ferrell crashed funerals towards the end of the film
Isnt tennis “grunts” to cover up the power/type of shot that the player is hitting?
Where does one email in?

Muff is in the Republic of Ireland not NI as Donegal is part of ROI. Wouldn’t be like the English to not know about a country they split in 2 though!!
Get rid of chris stark please, he was good for the pod when it started but it is painful to sit through these now.
