You got it! Make sure not to dent the silver; use a rag or something you don’t mind putting holes in whenever it’s in contact with a different metal, and it’s reasonable to do so. Like, you don’t need a rag when you’re using the mandrel, but if you have a ring bender, then definitely put something in there to avoid damage to the ring 👍 have a good one, friend!

Yours bent nice and easy. I hav some that are hard to bend so I torch the back side with a propane work torch most people have in their garage. Dip in water, then bend. Came out great !

Great question! The ring I make in the video is actually stainless steel. I actually prefer it. The only problem happens when the utensil is too thick, but by then, it would be uncomfortable to wear anyway.

That might give you better luck, but I would recommend using a hammer and a circular piece of metal if you don’t want to spend more money on an actual ring bender.

For me, the time and effort it takes is only worth it if you have a very specific spoon that is very difficult to bend, but even then, you may be able to achieve the same effect by just working with it while it's hot. You can probably find a couple videos online on the best way to anneal a small stainless steel project if you're still interested in that. Best of luck!

This does work great with silver, however I believe this actually hardens steel, unless you’re bending it while it’s hot

Guys I bent it nearly to the edge but I can’t get the end of it to bend because it’s a short amount to bend. Any tips?
Try using a metal hammer, or maybe your spoon is just too thick.
