Very very beautiful little piece. So simple and elegant. I would liked to have seen you actually make the pearl cap too but then I always want to see it all in case I run into a snag. So many useful hints and tips here. Question, is there a way to determine the difference between sterling and nickel silver? I have some that I seriously cannot determine if it’s nickel silver or sterling silver. Thank you in advance.
Soham, I always look forward to your videos! I always learn so much and appreciate your creativity greatly and how much you share with all of us, so freely! Would you please share what kind of Hallmarking pliers those are? They look so convenient.. Do they mark just the .999 etc or do they also mark your maker's mark? In regards to the pearl cap, could you do a separate video on how you would adjust the curvature if it didn't match your pearl? I think I have the idea how but want to ask the expert. Thank You.
got the pliers from rio grande. cut down one of my makers marks to fit, so i have one of each hallmark that i use. i tend to spoil my self at times. after you get the anticlastic shape f you need to adjust the curve just bend it with your fingers, and if it is too work hardened just anneal it again and push it around a ring mandrel.
Thanks for the reply Soham. I think we had some miscommunication, on what needed adjustment.. How do you adjust the pearl cap so it doesn't look like a beanie as you put it?
Beautiful piece. My mother wants me to make her a Star of David and I like the anticlastic look. How would you tackle sharp corners without compromising the anticlastic design please? Also, what make is your saw, am looking at buying a Knew Concept but yours looks less bulky. Many thanks.
soham harrison. Many thanks indeed. My star is very stylised and the more I look the more I think the anticlastic curves look more like I've squashed the star into a too small circle. Back to Plan A! Thanks again for your help and time. Regards Kazzi. UK.
Thank you Soham, I have been dabbling in anticastic, also I have made pearl earring with wrapping wire arround mandrel. Do you think it matters if pearl is slightly off centre. Is the bonny doon better than the delrin hammer. Also are you still teaching! Thank you from Tassie
Thank you for each and every video! I 'chucked' in my day job at 59 to play with metal fulltime, you have taught me so much! :)
That's so awesome Joyce! Congratulations. You must have really dedicated yourself to the art.
Such humble beginnings for that strip of silver and look at what an exquisite piece it turned out to be!
Simplicity is stunning! Many thanks for so very many lessons in one, Soham.
I absolutely love this pendant! I'd love to see more tutorials like these.
I have all the components to do this and can't wait to make a pair! Thank you!
You are the BEST teacher! Thank you!

Beautiful. Thank you for sharing your expertise.
That's pretty! (And I suppose it could be made with any bead that's the right size - amethyst, coral, even a pretty glass bead.)
yes of course
You always have the coolest tools!!

i just put it in the doming block and use the samr size punch as the pearl.
Is there a trick to telling if wire is argentium? I accidently mixed mine up

got the saw from otto frei. i think you would have to cut the strip, and resolder to save the curve.
