It’s a clone due to game design choices. Besides, being a clone isn’t a bad or derogatory thing. A lot of great games are clones of other games. NFS Underground 2 was a clone of Midnight Club. Forza Motorsport was a clone of Gran Turismo, Republic Commando was a clone of Halo, Call of Duty always has been a clone of Medal of Honor, and WipEout was a clone of F-Zero. Things aren’t clones for being unoriginal, but seeing the concept and thinking “what can I do with that?”
@@FromBeyondTheGrave1 On the contrary, the resource management aspect, and the use of pre-rendered backgrounds. I would also argue that things can still be clones even when using a different gameplay style. I would argue Silent Hill is a Resident Evil clone in that aspect, and one that surpasses the original. Admittedly though, Parasite Eve 2 is much more so a Resident Evil clone than PE1
@@FromBeyondTheGrave1 Perhaps I should've clarified what I meant better. A third person game that centers around action, has heavy resource management, and utilizes pre-rendered backgrounds is a resident evil clone. FF8 isn't a resident evil clone because it doesn't involve similar combat or movement elements. Parasite Eve however makes heavy use of Resident Evil style movement, even if your attacks are selected in the same manner as an RPG, you still need to move around and aim, same as Resident Evil. In same the same way, Dead Space is a clone of Resident Evil 4. It has extremely similar core gameplay and mechanics, but adds its own unique twist to stand out. That's the thing about clones, they aren't always straight copies, and often try to not only imitate but innovate. That's what PE did. It saw what Resident Evil did, imitated it, then innovated upon that foundation
The only thing I really had a tough time with at the end was running from the Ultimate Being, because of the movement controls. I ended up running into it, and you do that, game over! But it's a real joy!
I think Remake PE1 is a bad idea, what makes old generation games great is that they are old. If they remake it with modern graphics they have to change the gameplay to modern style otherwise the old gameplay will kill the graphics and if they change the gameplay they kill the game, similar game "PE2" "3rd Birthday PSP" " or "Resident Evil 1 Remake". To me, instead of asking brands to remake old games, people need asking them to create a new game with the standards of the old generation.
Hi nacho next video talk about what if Albert wesker and found the village and adapt that virus into him what could possibly there was a hint given in resident evil game ones as Spencer said the right to be god means he was trying to say he wants defeat mother Miranda and infect himself
He never said "Resident Evil 3 clones" he said "3 Resident Evil clones." While it isn't a clone they were often grouped together and they do have a couple similarities.
@mohammadliman the way it looks, the fixed camera angles, scary mutated monsters, resource management... The same stuff every game of the genre at that time was copying. It's not a knock.
Parasite eve is definitely it's own thing. The closeness of re3 it resembles is that they are both horror survivor games, but parasite eve is actually closer to turn based style RPGs...however, that doesn't stop the fact that I'd like to see you, nacho, do a full game playthrough If you do end up doing a playthrough, let me help you out a little for the beginning...after eve sets the crown on fire, before you jump down the hole backstage, you will hear sirens. Go back outside of the building and meet with the police and ambulance. The paramedics will heal you and the cops will give you extra ammo (up to 5 or 6 six time if I remember right). And when it comes to leveling up, you get more bonus points the longer you go without doing the game. Speaking of bonus points (bp), depending on your play style will determine how you should spend your bonus points. You get an item called junk and when you collect 300 piece of junk, the weapons specialist will make a badass weapon of your choice or a super tool kit (which allows you to add modifications to your favorite gun). So in this case you'll want to spend your bp on inventory slots to be able to carry more items at once (heals, junk, armor, guns, etc). You can spend BP to increase armor stats, gun stats, Aya's stats (speed, attack meter, pe meter (green bar), etc). However, in the beginning, it's always better to spend BP on the attack meter (blue bar). The attack meter is what you run around waiting to fill up to shoot, heal, use parasite energy, etc. The best number I've found (after 20+ playthroughs) is 31-32. Your at meter will fill up almost instantly for every gun (with the exception of rpg's, those still take forever to build the at meter)!
Yeah, because it uses a lot of gone design elements that Resident Evil pioneered. Being a clone isn’t a bad thing, it just means they say the concept and wondered how they could build upon it
Remember fellow commenters, a clone is a game that utilizes similar mechanics and concepts to a previous work. Being a clone is hardly a bad thing in itself, and many great games are clones. These are all Resident Evil clones, and that fact doesn’t devalue them in any way
Calling Parasite Eve, a clone is a stretch and a half it's based off a book by the same name.

@wieldylattice3015 it's an action rpg, there's no design it's borrowing from RE.

@wieldylattice3015 by your logic ff8 is an re clone due to its resource management in drawing junctions, pre rendered back ground ect.

Oh god, Martian Gothic. Such a bizarre and unwieldy game with an insane story and ending.
Play Cold Fear. The game has an amazing vibe, truly a hidden gem.
This really brought me to the old Best Friends Play

Parasite eve is not resident evil clone
No, but it place pretty much the same, which is what I think he was going for. Great game either way

Remake Parasite Eve you cowards!
