@@JayEmmOnCars Just the dealers in Cheshire? I know you said Manchester but I assume it was the one in Wilmslow near Ferrari? It's the only one I've seen round here.
Just a note on "the 600LT is way faster" that you mentioned: around the ring, the McLaren is more than 10 seconds slower. The 600LT is probably only faster in a straight line; put in some corners and the GT3 RS will gobble it up.
I'd find that to be believable though, as in the McLaren is lighter and has turbos which would mean punchier acceleration. Don't get me wrong, I'd prefer the gt3, but I reckon the McLaren would be gone. Tyres could be a factor also
just like Robert Mitchell (another fellow youtuber who spends his time on the ring) pointed out, you buy the McLaren because of how it feels, the noise, and how it looks. Actual performance is a secondary thing with McLarens. The Porsches are pretty much the most effective and efficient track tool you can buy right now. Especially the GT3 RS.

Helper springs aren't actually contributing any support to the weight of the car. The spring rate of the helper spring is too low for that purpose. It is purely there to keep the main spring in the correct position. In fact, the helper spring is fully compressed most of the time, until the suspension is beyond a certain level of droop, does the helper spring expand. The reason why the GT3 RS has decent ride compliance on the right roads is because the damper rebound control is actually relatively soft.
Great genuine review as always. Porsche 911 stopped at 991.2 gt3 rs for me as well. Like you , starting to be ok with 992 exterior (barr bacon and strip lights). Dont think time can fix the interior……
Amazing how good modern GT3's are now as daily drivers. Have you driven a 991.2 GT3 Manual mate? I am considering adding one to garage at somepoint and think the manual option might add that little bit extra inter-activity at more sane speeds.
just as an explanation to those who wonder why McLarens have narrower tyres: from a Vehicle Dynamics department point of view they have always chosen the approach (I think it started with Gordon Murray's F1) to put the narrowest tyre that can cope with the power. Hence the P1 has narrower tyres (unless I'm mistaken) than the 918 or LaFerrari. However its engine still allows it a very quick standing mile. The benefit is good steering feel and also a nice "driftable" car. You can power slide a 997 GT3 but on most dry roads it's not that easy for every day drivers (it is for Tiff Needell or Chris Harris who've practiced a lot). The modern 911s tend to be a bit "over-tyred". They feel very sharp and are a hoot on those welsh roads. A car that is more adjustable and fun for the average driver is a Cayman with not too wide sections front and rear. Ultimate track performance is typically conflicting with driving feel.
Most modern supercars are to powerful and fast for the road, not to mention to big. It’s why I love the hot hatch so much, not to powerful or big to enjoy on the road.

Honestly, it's too fast to enjoy on the road. I found it frustrating. It's not unpleasant to drive but its frustrating not being able to drive it on public roads at the levels it's meant to be. The 8000-9000 rpm are the sweet spot and you are way above speed limits when you are there. This is a track tool, not a road car and for its purpose its THE perfect car. And I love the lizard green!

I’ve got a a whole lot of want and love for this car, please let me win the lottery.
Good review -- thanks! You know what I noticed, though? You didn't laugh while you drove it. Too bad. You laugh when you drive hot hatches.

991.2 GT3/RS the best Porsche of the last 15 years.
