A look at Mussel Farming on PEI

Mussel Farming or Mussel Fishing is a major industry on Prince Edward Island, Canada's Food Island. In fact, Blue Mussels from Prince Edward Island make up roughly 80% of mussels consumed in North America!
PEI Mussels are celebrated all across North America, as they're the perfect ingredient for any mussel recipe, as well as just eating on their own! Whether you're making moules frites, or a delicious seafood chowder, you'll want to make sure you're using PEI Mussels!
We were invited out with a mussel fishing team to get a look at what it means to fish for mussels. It takes a lot of dedication and hard work, but the result is a beautifully plump and creamy mussel that helps to feed North America and some other parts of the world!
