This really works, in Greece I’ve seen many restaurants use a white water balloon to do the same thing. One owner says the fly thinks it is a predator and avoids it.
Another simple trick is to wipe the dining table area, the kitchen platform and other surfaces where flies often sit....with salt water...as they will avoid these surfaces since they have sensitive legs, or feet. Other areas can be sprinkled with spray of this water to avoid flies. Have suggested many bakery shops and hotels to use this method.

Being mom I even get these small roaches from time to time, the trick is to kill it as you see any, so they won't multiply.
Dust a little boric acid powder in the problematic areas. Don't overdo it, a thin layer is all you need

To make it more effective put some coins ( pennies or dimes ) in the water zip lock bag . Then you see real magic.
We do this also but we place a penny in the bag it fools the flies into believing that it is a spider's web so scares them away.😉😊
Actually putting pennies in the bag is not necessary, just water in the bag works fine :)
