In 2016 Duterte forced fed a piece of paper into the mouth of a taxi driver in Davao who was involved in this kind of scam. His idiot followers then bragged that if he will run and win for president this kind of scam will stop in the whole country because Duterte's savage way will solve all problems. I'm not a supporter of the dilaw or any political party but I and some rational people crusaded in social media to tell the fools that Duterte's brutal and immoral ways is not the answer to our social problem. Now we are proven right. Duterte has failed in all of his stupid promises of quick solutions through savagery and uncivilized ways. And yet the 16 million idiots are still idiots as of today. Duterte and his stupid ways is not the answer but rather the aggravation to our social ills.

I sure did notice that immediately and most foreigners vlog more in the visayas and Mindanao because they seem to have more positive things to say about the Visayans and Mindanaoans even though the Northerns always say that it is dangerous in Mindanao when crime in Manila is the one that is terrible. My father is Ilongo and they welcome foreigners there very well. I was born in Quiapo, Manila and know Manila very very well.

If you guys still have this vlog file, i strongly suggest that you send this to LTFRB or LTO for disciplinary action against those DISHONEST drivers. That way, your efforts and money spent won't go to waste and more importantly - you become instruments to help make this country a better place to live in. Those dishonest drivers are a bane to society anywhere in the world!

Here in cebu.. all taxi drivers use meters. If they don't. You can call their manager and give them a 5,000 warning fine
I am Filipino and they have been doing that since the 60's when I was still young and I am 62 now. That's Manila and I know Manila by heart cuz I was born in Quiapo which used to be the center of Manila.
hey guys!that's what I've always noticed most of the taxi driver even here in Saudi Arabia they always reason out the traffic, they work as taxi driver they must adopt the traffic situation, people working on construction site did not complain the heat of the sun, farmers did not complain while they are working under the sun or even get wet coz of the rain, but taxi drivers are complaining about the traffic if you doesn't want to encounter traffic go for another job,hehe
I am a Policeman you pay me extra if I have to deal with a criminal, I am a ferry Captain you pay extra because there is too much water, I am a checkout operator you pay extra because you have too many groceries.......this is the taxi logic

Yes mam, whenever we are in baguio we don't use our car as we go around we just ride a taxi. It's so convenient as you don't have to look for a parking spot. And most of the taxi drivers there are friendly and honest.

This is one of the reasons why I always want to get out of Manila fast from JFK, New York. I do not even flag down a taxi anymore in Manila. I book my hotels with free shuttles now and pay the Shuttle drivers 50 PHPs......

I left philippines 2005 came back 2019 same scamming technique.
@Froiicey Dela Cruz oo nga we used grab, and because of the driver honesty nagbigay kami extra 200pesos.
Only in Manila fyi. In Baguio, Taxis even settle for whatever you can give when they don't have change to give you. Or if you're short of a few coins they'll let it pass. Lastly, they return change to the last cent and usually, if people lose stuff they look for you in social media and give it back. Most but not all tho. 98% are honest can drivers.

Sometimes I get in the cab and nothing is said by the driver and also the meter is not turned on, one of these days I will let him take me to the destination then we will see what I am asked to pay, I haven't wanted to risk it to date but I feel like I should do that then refuse to pay as he "forgot" to put the meter on, however it might not be worth what some crazy angry driver might try to do so it is not worth the risk but it is all very annoying.
