What I like about this dude is I do not care how long his videos are, you will not see him get the mount and spin into an arm bar! I was raised in one of the most violent cities of the US in the 70s and at 5'7 (with some mass of course) I have known what would work in the street for 40 years. This dude has figured it out. I cannot say that for even some of the most popular people in social media. Why, because sooner or later, they are going for a Kimura from the guard in the freakin street. Good work, Lee
The trouble with a number of so called self defence arts appears to be that the techniques, pretty they might be, only practice branching. The problem is, they are branching g before the situation dictates they need to. The technique is written with maybe an inward block followed by a front snap kick, followed by a outward hand sword strike, followed by an inward elbow, followed by any number of other strikes. The first strike / block utilised a number of times may have finished the opponent. Lee is taking away all the prettiness and bull shit out of the equation by only introducing a change of plan, branching, when as they put it, you run into a road block. Absolutely brilliant lesson. Jesus, this guy is bloody awesome. He does not want to conform to all this martial art bull shit .
Agree Neil. Lee's approach to self-defense is realistic. You see in even the combat sports that they may train the ''a-b-c strikes'' but when its on in the ring they punch and kick like cavemen. And there is not even stress and danger as on the street .
An alternative to 16:50 position is, having a good hold on the guys hair, to just scramble/shake his head to the point of pulling his hair off; he'll be terrified, in pain, intimitated, dizzy and confuzed; he'll forget where he's at so to speak... So you can stop the knees, and then just pull him to the ground. The alternatives are endless.

agree real classes- no falling evry time into a arm bar or other stuff.
How right you are. Arm bar should be a last resort and only from inside your own guard and that is if you know how lol
