Very interesting and it sounds like a Semi. For 8k your converting your daily into a very capable car. Its not a bad deal at all. Its a shame that its only for the V6, when almost 80% of Camry sales are the I4 engine.
The I4's engine compression is way too high to run boost. It experiences so much detonation at WOT that the learned timing is close to 0. That's on a stock car with a stock tune. If you add boost, you are just asking for trouble. We decided that we were going to experiment with nitrous and E85.
Glad to see this! Definitely put it on the track! Even if you have to convert the numbers for sea level! That would be the best thing UA-cam will ever see!
You don't have to convert for sea level if it's turbocharged, it will always see the same air density. That's why ww2 planes used turbochargers so they made sea level power all the way up to 30,000 feet!
i sold a lot of STS Turbo back in my day and Comp Turbos.... looks like the CTR Oil-Less 3.0 Turbocharger. If pricing right and you do the labor should be right around $4500-$5000. Building the kit is the easy part but if you have a tuner should work just fine. Great video... Everytime I have a shot at better than 13.7 / 13.8 in the quarter mile I roast my tires 1st and 2nd gear and I upgraded to Michelin Pilot Sport 4S Summer tires. That is so badass bro. I think the TRD Camrys are sharp looking cars, with a turbo that car is perfect. Much respect Edit: are you running or considered running e85? You'll need upgraded injectors/pump but that's the secret to good power on high compression engines
We actually are considering running e85 and would have if D3 had more time on it. It has 12 injectors and a bunch of fuel so it can definitely hang. I think meth would also be good to try.

I’m planning a twin turbo setup on my Camry Trd as well. I think for our car, the stock engine block can mabye handle twin turbos at low boost(around 500ish hp) but the transmission would for sure give out before it. We’d most likely have to build our engines if we want more boost and build the transmission first so it doesn’t shit itself after 6 pulls.
