I think the true skill of any actor is portraying a character so vastly different from themselves. Listening to Cillian's calm & appreciative attitude while hearing Shelby's "Noh Fookin Fighteen!!" in the back of mind..Well done, mate.
yeah but he is also very calm and reserved in interviews like tommy most of the time is too. I think no one actor can be completly diferent to his characters. There is always something that they both (actor and character) share between them. That's great too.
What's scary about this BBC serial is the name of the main character Thomas. Because the name of the main character in Grapes of Wrath was also Thomas. And you compare that Thomas to this Thomas which obviously was ripped of version and you shutter at the thought. Because the Thomas in Peaky Blinders is so soul less, greedy, corrupt and deeply evil. Complete opposite of the character in Grapes of Wrath the writers ripped off from..
I completely disagree with his characterization of this TV show. It is totally sleazy and trash and has no artistic value whatsoever. It's more like MTV video soft porn. He is a much better actor than this show.
