    well I dunno...in the vid for the Xiphos, they're being hand crafted to some degree..
    they gots great pickups, mahogony body...maple neck, rosewood fingerboard...and as Muhamed of Necrophagist said on the video..."if u order a custom shop guitar...u order mahogony, and a maple neck..." etc

    Stupid question maybe, but maybe someone can help me out a bit. I have always used and loved Seymore Duncan pickups. Most Everyone talks EMG 81's up like theres no tomorrow! Me being a metal guitarist what are some defining pros and cons about these two pickups? thanks for any feedback.

    The guitar is an Ibanez Xiphos. Only comes in 6 string, no 7 string version in production. It was built for bloke outa necrophagist.

    No, the Xiphos was not specificly built for muhamed . As of right now there is only a 6string available but you may see a 7str at the winter NAMM 08

  • @BenHBX
    @BenHBX 15 років тому

    yeah, and they also have a weak-ass,"mushy" sound with distortion, passives have a big fat powerfull sound... and they also don't run out of batteries:)

  • @mulleygraves
    @mulleygraves 15 років тому

    EMGs sound like sterile piss. Duncans sound like a real pickup.

  • @DivorcedFL
    @DivorcedFL 16 років тому

    What total shite. You're telling me Mark Knopfler, Steve Lukather, Paul Stanley, Gary Moore, Zakk Wylde all have the same tone? These guys and many more were using EMG back in the 80s before most of you had heard of them. The reason most metal players sound the same these days is down to the people producing them and whats aimed for in the industry. It has nothing to do with pickups.
