They (the Anglin brothers, at least) made it off of Alcatraz alive, there's not a single doubt in my mind that they did since they have sent some Christmas cards to their family for a few years after their escape, a photograph from 1975 has surfaced that supposedly showed them on a farm somewhere in Brazil and looking very different from their mugshots and even their dead brother Alfred Ray Anglin was exhumed so that the Marshals can get a bone sample from his remains to see if they matched up with bones that washed up in SF Bay nine months after his brothers' infamous escape (SPOILER ALERT: the results showed they didn't match) and also so the Anglin family can have an official autopsy done in order to find out once and for all if either he really did die from accidentally touching a high-voltage cable while attempting his own escape from Alabama's Kilby prison or if he was actually beaten to death by prison guards for possibly having information about his brothers' whereabouts. (SPOILER ALERT: turns out that since there were no signs of broker bones, the original autopsy report saying that he died from accidental electrocution was correct.) I think they made it, reason why is they were never able to recover a body in the san fransico bay waters for more than 50+ years!!! and it is very easy to change your ID and they could’ve had plastic surgery to completely be a new person
I think they made it cause if they were that smart then they would of been able to get back and you can't plan all this for over a year and not figure out how to get to the city
