- Henry Friedman's life changed when he adopted his rescue dog Finn from the Sato Project in Puerto Rico. He was so grateful, he wanted to give back to the rescue community. I have my own dog, Finn! He’s given me a lot!
The rescue community is amazing! I'm not sure how things are in Mexico or Costa Rica, but here in the US, (Texas) there is a big problem with strays. The irony is that many people complain that they don't have the money to neuter or spay their pets; however, Animal Services offers free services for people who live in low-income neighborhoods. The shelters in Texas are always full, and sadly many people still buy pets instead of adopting. If you love animals, you can help, adopt, foster, volunteer, or donate.
In Costa Rica there are so many stray dogs... it breaks my heart. You’d take a 5 minute walk and you’ll see 8 stray dogs. Well at least in Playas del coco

I got my dogs from a rescue in Texas :>
I adopted "Wally" from a Cocker rescue in Houston. He was a street runner and ended up in a kill shelter where a rescue found him. I have read that there are hundreds of thousands of strays that roam there. Very sad, our boy has been a loving and loyal member of our family. Please consider rescues, especially senior dogs.
Same situation here in Mexico. Some people who claim to love dogs only mean purebred dogs, and sometimes their goal is to breed them and sell the puppies.

You guys are amazing people. I adopted a baby from a rescue in South Africa and it was one of the best things I ever did. He is about 2 yrs old now and I love him so much. How people can just throw animals away is beyond me. People got depressed during lock down, me and my 'crew' was lying on the bed watching movies, playing ball. Taking care of you furbabies ensures you are never lonely and gives you a reason to live.
I could not be more proud of the work the animal rescuers are doing. And, the values of the people who live in those communities must be changed through advertising and education. Animals are not objects.
Thank you for saving these precious canines. I am at a loss to understand how people can neglect these poor creatures--effectively watching them suffer. Education is crucial. You are a saint.

This guy is an amazing human being, I have rescued 3 dogs, one of which was a senior. There is nothing in this world like the love of a Rescue dog. Their loyalty knows no bounds. You don't realize it at the time, but more often than not, they rescue you as well!

One of our dogs came to us through the Love 4 Satos project in Puerto Rico. She was very traumatized but with patience, love, and french fries she adjusted and is the silliest, happiest girl. We just love her.
