Thanks for this, Glen. I was there last week due to this video! I was there when the guy was unlocking the gate for the Audrey Shaft. He told me that the shaft is now filled with about 1,000' of water. That now gives you something soft to fall into after 900' when the glass breaks!!! ;)
Oh...how funny and ironic...I just visited there last weekend for my b-day and I was going through my photos and watching your videos...just as I was getting to the ones for Jerome (on our way to the Verde Railroad) this video was next on the list...lol...perfect timing!
look up the Hopewell tunnel. Clark had it built to run ore from his mine in Jerome to his processing works in Clarkdale. It also ran miners back and forth. FMI uses it for "drainage".
Just love your videos makes me want to fly to Arizona and visit all the places you shown us .I live in London so would have to stay a few months 😃so I'm saving all the pennies but in the meantime I'll keep watching your videos love em thanks your a star 🤩
With so much hollowed out underneath the town, it’s a wonder it hasn’t been affected by cave-ins. That three-d model of the town and what’s beneath is mind blowing.
When you see that model of the tunnels, it does make one wonder that, doesn't it? There are an example or two of the effects of the tunnels had on things above ground. Hopefully one day we will have time to get back to Jerome and share more of the town. 😊
Such a neat Informative video. Loved the rocks and all their beautiful colors. All in all Jerome looks like a dream visit for an engineer. by the way model railroading is an expensive hobby but that was a awesome setup that you showed. Ex was into them.
This is cool me and mom is going to Jerome this week with my friend I still wanna learn about az cause we lived here before and wanna get to know about my state I watched a CNN about Jerome and they said it's haunted at night if you stay there and that kinda scared me.
I didn't know CNN ever talked about Jerome! Interesting! I'll have to look that up and watch. Yeah, Jerome is said to be quite haunted and there's a lot of ghost tours one can take. We actually went on one a couple years ago but never experienced any paranormal activity and later found out that some of the stories we were told are questionable in their validity. I don't think Jerome is anything to be afraid of. It's quite an interesting town really! 😊

😂 I suppose there is that. Still not a place I'd like to fall. That's awesome that you visited! I hope you enjoyed your time there. 😊

Thanks! Yeah, Jerome is definitely a great place to visit and one we enjoy. I can see how an engineer would enjoy it.
I’m learning this in school
Very cool! 😄👍
Jerome is a great little town! So much to do and see. Was that a little dig by Amy telling you to start working out :P

How long to hit bottom of the Audrey shaft, you ask? Things fall at 90'/second according to simple physics, so do the math! ;)
Is this state historic park haunted by any chance?
Not entirely sure, sadly.
