@@greschenglin-dz7wj literally yes. i guess dmc isnt that known but when i played samira at first i was like "this is 1:1 nero with dante personality but female" and why cant they make her some new weapons etc? im not a developer but surely an ability to change weapons in base and their animations would be actually so cool
@@raknieborak7651 The only thing I can say for that is making it so that the model can hold the items properly without them looking junky, so stuff like Pandora's Box/a suitcase, Beowulf/brass knuckles and greaves, and wutever the hat's called would be the go-to weapons that'd take less time but still give the devs something to work with while keeping Sam's main kit intact and functional. I have to say this since for as expanded as they are, the skill animations across the board are consistent, is just the effects are different. Plus something about lol having spaghetti code or something.
That would be the standard for an ultimate skin. But it seems we're gunna be seeing the days when firefighter Tristana and that one Corki skin are legit legendary skins so this can pass for an ultimate.

I was just reading something and realized that it doesn't auto come with boarder or icon either. Like every other ultimate. I also own LUX, Seraphine, and Sona. (Got all for free through box or gift) there's just so much that makes this skin not ultimate, and it's so sad because the skin is honestly lovely.
All ultimates do come with the icon but you will need to buy them or have them gifted to you for the borders; only seraphine's border comes with the skin as it's part of the missions! You also won't get any of the ward skins unless you pay for them! :D

all the ultimate skins except samira comes with icons but the only ultimate skin that gives you the border for free is seraphine, the borders for lux and mf are locked behind an icon that was only available on their release

As a Samira main, I bought it, played a match with it, and can confirm I didn't feel massively satisfied with the price to skin ratio - immediately refunded it. If it was a legendary it'd be awesome but it genuinely isn't worth what it is

As a fellow samira main, I absolutely loved it. I played 7 matches with it so far and I have to say, it makes samira so much better to use. From her auto's, to the minion kill animation ending to the ultimate upgrades. I do not know why everyone is mad about this skin, like okay still the price is much I don't disagree but all the hate about it I really don't understand. Most people hating on it ain't even samira mains or users and be complaining about it but in use the skin completely changes her overall usage, all the other skins the ultimate isn't special or looks any different than the original the only thing that they change is her other abilities. I have all of her skins and a bit after I used all her epics I always a bit after return to her original because they stop feeling special. But with this skin as the game goes on you see the ultimate difference and it feels like good every time because you Always start with the first version and just by leveling it you see the change. It is a skin that samira needed for sure, for her it's a game changer and people who don't see that haven't seen the problem she had in the first place. Her ultimate never felt good before animation, look wise.

The lack of any communication by Riot just make things even worse, they could at least try to address why the skin is so highly priced but instead they ignored everybody and release the skin like nothing happened. The fact that they even said in the feedback thread "thank you for all the love and excitement that we are seeing" is a proof that they are living in an alternate universe.

Considering Samira is somewhat inspired by Devil May Cry, and how Dante is in various fighting games like Marvel vs Capcom 3, they could of easily gave Samira a form similar to the Devil Trigger form that Dante has (same as Virgil)

@@mithias1 Yeah, it was based on fighting games. I'm pretty sure Sett is based on one of the characters from Guilty Gear in design and one of his chromas makes him resemble that character even more (Don't quote me on that though i've never played guilty gear)

I honestly wouldn't be surprised if the real problem here is the Riot marketing team (or whatever team decides the pricing of things). I had heard talk that Samira started out Legendary, but they kept adding more bits to it (the counter, the pentakill, the ult getting more flashy) and they "decided to make it Ultimate".
I feel like this is another case like the TFT Baron tactician where the dev team got really into something and had fun knowing people would like it as is, but then some asshat in marketing/pricing that was in charge of deciding how much things cost went "Wait, we can milk this more" and set the price to a stupid point.

I have Udyr, Sona, and Miss Fortune's ultimate skins and they are all cool in their own way. Samira's skin not only recycles features that other skins have like Empyrean Pyke and Winterblessed Diana, it doesn't have anything emulating an ultimate skin.
The problem with this skin is because Samira herself is super clean when you look at her base model and her skins are well made too so it was impossible to label it ultimate. Would've been nice if we had a new skin tier and she would fit in that tier perfectly
Another thing with Samira being a charity skin is that you wouldn't be able to get her from lootboxes/rerolls until like a month or two after, much like the previous charity skins. But even then, the previous skins were all just regular epic skins rather than an Ultimate.
But it does actually put the discussion of wanting a lower price at a default negative since they can just reply "What? You want to give less money to charity?"

$5 goes to the charity per purchase; as an estimate for just the skin; so the rest should be paid off them. Now as for whether or not that's the case or it comes out of the host's pocket; Riot, the one that actually owns the skin; legally iunno.
they're a billion dollar company, it wouldn't be a problem to lower the skin price and just have them throw in the missing 5 bucks if they really cared about charity, they care as much about charity as they care about their players, this is just a shitty pr stunt

Im dissipointed that they gave samira an ult skin based off fighting games/guilty gear but didn't give her a devil trigger or dragon install transformation
lately the Ultimate skins are not what they used to be and that is what makes people upset because when you saw a player with Elementalist Lux your reaction was wow that skin is amazing its effects were smooth and clean and it changed what lux felt like
but when you look at gun goddess missfortune it doesn't feel much different to other missfortune Skin
KDA seraphine is not only undeserved because it was her release skin and it's not even an ultimate or a legendary skin at that it's just 3 epic skins packaged as one skin
and here at Samira yes the Skin looks cool amazing and awesome but it's not that different enough to validate a Legendary skin price tag for example look at a Legendary Skin like Dark cosmic Jhin
it has unique AA animation walking animations a new Model New effects new death animation as well as 4 different walking animations and that is just a legendary skin and an old one at that and I didn't even mention what makes that skin unique
Look at odyssey kayn it makes Kayn Feels grander than usual it changes the entire character of Kayn and Rhaast while still keeping the magic that makes Kayn and Rhaast compelling and it's a Legendary skin
Riot has proven that all the Skin criteria are improving in quality except for the mythics and Ultimate skins because lets be real ashen Knight pyke is not as good as project or emperyean

I mean, they are making more and more skins compared to the older seasons. So I guess they are going for quantity instead of quality, which is a dumb move. Really lowers the desire to purchase skins. I mean the only reason newer skins are better looking than the older ones are mainly because the new champs are made modern while some older champs still are using ancient models, so like when a VGU comes out, I get new champ and new skins.
Lux is definitely the best ultimate and nothing that came before or come after will surpass it. It was so good I had to buy it on release even though I didnt play Lux that much then
Mythic skins are just Epics with artificial rarity, let's be fair. Nobody is expecting them to be legendaries or ultimates.

What it comes down to is, they donate 20% of the sales to charity, so ofc Riot can't actually pay any of that themselves, so they calla Legendary skin an Ultimate and make the players pay the difference.

This is a Legendary through and through, its actually in a lot of ways a little worse than a legendary (hell compare it to Viego's new Legendary)

There are simply no exclusive features, and whats worse EVERY ultimate skin has INCLUDED additional things Primarily Icons/borders. In order to get Samira's Icon/Border you have to pay ANOTHER 550 RP.
This is simply riot's greed getting out of hand and a massive decline in quality. Im a samira main and a huge fan of hers and I am not buying the skin unless it goes to 1820 (not even 2750 or 2250).
the thing is if samria skin is a success , it wil simply drop the quaility on all legendary skins and epic. like some epics are worse than other the bar is already being dropped , the line between epic and standard is getting blured every time, legendary skins also have blured line, but ultmates they trying to drop the bar so low they make legendary skins and milk them for double the price because they think we are smucks.
This is just straight up untrue. It has new animations, both movement and on abilities (especially the Q). Sometimes summersaults that dont appear with base movements. The ultimate upgrades its animation as you level it. It becomes sick by 3 points. It has new features. between the HUD and new text for damage it's nice, but it ALSO counts the bullets she lands during her ult, glowing rainbow if she lands enough. that combined with the counting and taunt kill counter gives a lot of "cool factor" to the skin. Also no model changes? dude... Calling this skin worse than legendary skins just shows that you didn't bother evaluating all of the features of the skin for yourself first, you just jumped on the Riot hating bandwagon because you heard others complaining with arguments that are just straight up false.
IMO they put the skin under charity to hopefully inflate the sales they got of this skin so they can say in the future that actually the reddit thread is just a small fraction of the playerbase and that actual players like the skin ( they have done this before)
this skin is in no way, shape, or form an ultimate skin. they will still release it and call it ultimate ignoring the community as they usually do, but they should rework it separately and release an updated version later on that is actually an ultimate.
they should add that legendary+ objective mechanic, make it “souls” she absorbs and change her form depending on the amount of objectives taken; 5/10/15. boom! new mechanic that qualifies her for ultimate tier.
we know they won’t do anything though… just like how they butchered the seraphine epic bundle. an “ultimate” skin called K/DA and instead of having her form change based on her KDA, you’re forced to pick a mediocre epic feeling skin before the game starts. 😵💫

As a Samira Main, Riot could definitely have improved the overall vfx and animations. An example would be her R; why not make it where it progresses towards a newer animation such as her ultimate in the Soul Fighters tournament event? (The 2d style button mash game) The final R level could be where Samira slashes and shoots individual targets on where they stand. Or make it where she doesn't reload her gun at all, considering one of her lines is that the benefit of being a soul fighter, you wouldn't have to reload at all 🤔
Riot's Soul Fighter event had some great ideas of what Samira's moves could have been changed into, yet it felt like those ideas were neglected.
P.S love the tower and baron effects idea after being destroyed/killed

dont forget her weapons a alive so would be even better to make an animation where they reload by themself or not at all
@alexanderson2558 I should have clarified the Soul Fighters event idea. The fighter event where you progress in defeating other bosses (Pyke, Gwen, etc.) until you get to 2nd phase Viego. I see her ultimate does have a progression, but it's just added pngs on a rotating png, in which, is already seen on other Samira skins already.
My idea was that the ultimate vfx should be like the one in the Soul Fighters event, a.k.a, the boss fighting event. (Sorry for the confusion)
@carizmo2805 Exactly! Like said, there are many ideas that could have been put into the ultimate skin, but Riot just flopped and messed this one up.
I think there's some information about the skin left out. She *does* transform her abilities throughout the game, like the Ezreal skin. Her R looks different depending on the points put into it. It gets way cooler with each point, so in that regard it does transform. Her Q is obviously very different, but she also does have quite a few move animations that are different, especially after using Q or moving from stand she sometimes does a summersault. the text for damage and all the HUD stuff was mentioned, but I think it's cooler than it seems, her ult even tracks the number of bullets she lands during the cast.
I think an important distinction is that this is Samira we're talking about. If they gave a penta effect and cool ultimate ability effect to Yuumi... who cares, you're never gonna see that penta effect. With Samira... you see the ult potentially multiple times per fight AND you see the penta effect way more often than any other champ. I personally think the skin does reach ultimate rarity dues to these considerations, and that this video comes up short with describing the real beauty of the skin.
Also, there are so many comments saying the Viego skin is more ultimate.... that's just untrue and y'all know it. If Viego's skin were labelled ultimate the uproar would be WAY more. it's a great legendary skin, but it doesnt do anything an ultimate skin should. I do wish that samira's skin had more unique voice lines like his, but I can accept that amazing visuals as compensation.

The last actual ultimate skin we had was GGMF with Battle Queen Kat being almost close enough. In order for anything to be "Ultimate" tier you gotta be able to change models in game. Seraphine doesn't count, that shits just three skins in one.

Ah yes, let's forget about how Udyr and Ezreal both have an ultimate skin that are worse than Samira yet not criticized. If you want to hate, at least be consistent. Nitpicking one thing just shows what kind of person you are instead of acknowledging other examples.

To be fair, reworked SG Udyr was well received. It also gave you upgraded forms when you maxed out skills which was a good move for a champion whose kit revolves around changing forms. But Ezreal...can't deny it's ugly and cluncky af. Most people think so too, I think you overlooked it because of SF Samira issue.
@@OCandD Well every single argument brought up regarding the Samira skin had NOT A SINGLE mention of the other ultimate skins, as if Samira was the stand alone problem. I hope you realize my point was that if you want to hate, be consistent. Don't hate one particular thing and turn a blind eye to something else thats directly related like the Ezreal ultimate skin. But I'm not going to randomly assume that most people hate the ultimate Ezreal skin when there's not much statistical evidence behind that statement. SG Udyr is definitely decent but I find Samira much more visually upgraded in terms of abilities and effects in comparison. Seraphina ultimate skin complaints were mostly due to the prices, since it was much more expensive if I remembered correctly. The majority of the complaints regarding Samira was about visuals and how it meets the "ultimate skin standard".

You basically just: Gave an unrelated example, gave an opinion, and then made a statement without proof (which is an opinion basically). First of all, people expecting quality from ultimate skins is fine, but the haters who hate the visuals itself (i.e. Samira having same auto attack animation, same spell animations, etc) are the thing I’m pointing out. They should notice the fact its not irregular for the ultimate skins to reuse animations.
In regards to the consistency, again, it feels like you don’t understand the word. Definition: Application of something, typically that which is necessary for the sake of logic, accuracy or fairness. So tell me, is it logical or accurate to bring up an example that is about pricing when my original point was about visuals?
Also, I’m confused how you came to the conclusion that you think I have a problem with opinions in an argument. I call your arguments shallow because it didn’t add any thing of value or actual backed up rebuttals. Having opinions is not a problem in itself in an argument. I literally never said nor implied that.
Finally, at this point you should be able to tell your two previous replies have a lot of problems. Its not even about superiority or whatever. Like clearly you have enough self-awareness to acknowledge you fucked up in some parts of your replies like the Ezreal claim. You should be smart enough to realize some of the shit you wrote makes no sense in terms of relevancy and logic. If you want to have the last word because of pride or something, you can have it. I think this mostly concludes this thread. Whether you hate me or whatever, thats up to you. I just wanted to point out inconsistent hate which has become widespread in social media. Like why hate this specific thing and not others that are the same.
There's a lot of people who don't understand why people are mad around the release of this skin. It's not about it not being cool-looking or satisfying to play, it's about Riot continuing to disappoint and lower their own standards with everything they do. It's about them ignoring constructive and just criticisim and instead of addressing it, acting like they don't see it. I'm honestly appalled that people bought it when it is nowhere near the standard of other Ultimate skins. I bought Elementalist Lux a month ago and immediately got Ezreal's after that from a box. I've been having so much fun with both of them, although I should say I believe Ezreal's should also be lowered cause it's even less impressive than Miss Fortune's. At least with MF you can change your form at will lol

it has the same thing on pentakills as Winterblessed Diana and Empyrian Pyke, its just a legendary skin with custom damage fonts,
If I were to design the skin I wouldve made something to the skin tied to her R, or her passive, like every kill with R to change her VFX Colours, or whenever she kills someone at S Rank on her passive, Battle Queen Katarina changes Daggers whenever she gets 3 takedowns until she gets the last one at 15 takedowns

Pyke and Diana legendaries also have this
I think the problem is that the 1350 - 1820 skins weren't that good back in the day so the ultimate ones really popped making them look more special than they actually were. Nowadays the quality overall of the 1350 skins has increased so drastically that you will see people complain frequently about the 1820 and ultimate skins thinking they got robbed or whatever. Personally I wouldn't pay 25$ for this skin, or any league skin really. But If you like it go for it, in reality you are paying 20$ for the skin and 5$ for a charity since 20% of the skin proceeds will be donated.
Even if you said that, the legendaries still are a bit above the epic tier list (just with the get go of having all new movements animations) but Samira's skin... She has the animation of reloading her gun, and, a voice line that goes something like "the best part of having a soul weapon? No reloading." Like, yeah, the epic skins are better than before but that's no excuse for the price that Samira has right now
1350 skins increased drastically, so why not increase the Ultimate skin's quality as well? or at least, keep its quality as an Ultimate skin? But no, they'd rather make a legendary skin, add few tweaks, use it for charity and bam, you've got yourself a scam skin.
missed opportunity to do a DP or EWGF animation for melee crits
Lux's ultimate skin is the pinnacle of skins. It has everything you want in a skin and it came out in 2016. It has been 7 years and riot has yet to come close to making another skin as nice as that one. Now they are dropping skins that are on the same tier as the lux skin for the same price with far less features. This skin should have been a legendary and they should spend time trying to make an ultimate that is on the same tier as lux's.
Firstly I’d say no it’s not worth it, however there is a lot of cool stuff packed into it. The damage text fonts are really cool, and I like the kill effects. Also the ultimate effects are really nice, especially since they change as you level up. Not saying this skin is worth 3250, but it’s more than a legendary
It would make so much sense if the skin was originally a legendary skin but changed to an ultimate last second maybe viego was originally the ultimate skin and he had someway to transform into that form he had

It's still weird how she didn't get a legendary High noon (a skinline that suited her like no others) and now she gets an ultimate with animations that don't feel different. The QUALITY has really gone down with so many skins being released. Still good job to the riot team for trying their best.

Epic skins do not come with new animations in general, with exception to recall animation and some unique skins. Only a handful of them change a couple of animations beyond the recall one.

You dont always need to change forms in an ultimate the pentakill animation and the damage number on minions is already something. If they made the animations different and the ult evolving a bit more special i would agree with 25 dollers for this skin.

I wanted to get the event pass and, stupidly, assumed that the Samira skin was part of the bundle. So I thought, why not? But no, my dumbass ended up buying the skin bundle for Samira and I can't refund it. So I'm now down £30 and all I have for it is Riot's joke of an ultimate skin. I wouldn't be mad if the ultimate skin was an ultimate skin, with different forms, new animations, new voicelines etc but this was just scraping the barrel. Viego should've been the ultimate skin, he literally has more content in his skin than Samira's. Riot are living on a different planet.
Even Legendaries change the AA/abilities animations. This is an Epic skin with Legendary/Ultimate gimmicks. Legendary gimmicks are on here taunt/dance/recall which most Epic skin doesnt have (they just used the default dance/taunt animations and change it up a lil bit) + the Pentakill global animations which was introduced on Pyke's/Diana's skin. And her Ultimate gimmicks are the damage font, which i must say is incredibly cool and unique, but can't be justified if that's her only Ultimate quality. I don't think League needs another skin where Riot literally said it would significantly slow the game down like Lux's cause there were too much data on her skin, but at least lower the price or something

i think that it might be good that she doesn't have new animations , she would probably suffer the same as ezreal in his ultimmate , ezreal need clear fluid animations to play him and his ultimate is kinda clunky , and thanks to no new animations when i play this skin i do not feel like i am doing something slower or just less overall. I agree on one , she should have forms just like other Ultimate skins they could have make some changes in her model to go along with the kill counter would be cool .

I would say it's hit or miss depending. I personally really enjoy some older chiampions that get new updated animations with their legendary skin variations.

Playing a Legendary for a tank feels more impactful than whatever this thing is. This is the S13 "cinematic" as a skin. I'd probably just get it in a chest and then refund it for essence.

Seems really like bad faith tho focus on the fact that the skin doesn't offer transformation, when you consider Udyr doesn't have one either really (like those are his abilities it's part of the BASE champion design for Udyr)
I always think that Battle Queen Katarina was probably planned to be an Ultimate skin, but it was downgraded to legendary, so riot could force Seraphine "Ultimate". And the fact that apparently there is already a code within the skin for Katarina to change forms... just makes everything worse. :(

I own gun goddess miss fortune and honestly, this skin is better imo. like yeah I guess you have 4 skins but I only really ever use one or maybe 2 of them. when it comes to looks and feel soul fighter samira feels like it's on another level to me. but idk, sometimes I might be a little too biased to riot.

I think this skin gets more hate than it deserves. Yes, it is not as spectacular as people expected and it doesn't come with free icon, but it is far better than Spirit Guard Udyr or Pulsefire Ezreal. The skin doesn't change forms, but let's be honest, this feature has been overused as fuck. I'm personally way more satisfied with the custom font and style meter design.

Irelia's legendary and samira's ultimate skins have been very disappointing because they dont change the champions base animations, both champions are already so fluid that the only thing they do is paste the skin over them and change the iddle animation leaving everything else untouched

Like Pyke and Diana both have that special rift changing animation for like few secs but only if they get penta which is pretty rare thing to happen so if they are gonna charge Legendary skin another 5$ just for some rare animation that you might not see in a 100 games is just not worth it and a ripoff.
Like this when a normal Legy skin gets some good reference like Viegos torture dance or Mordekaiser destroying the turret it just makes legy a bit more special but 100% not worth 5$ more.

Most legendary skins have dramatically improved the silhouette of the character and the animations, and the skin simply doesn't.
Consider how out of the world amazing star guardian Ahri looked when it came out. Yes, they LATER gave her a visual update so that now her base model looks closer to that skin, but when it released, it completely transformed Ahris model and animations + it had all of those amazing voice lines that turned Ahri into a different version of herself.
This is also completely missing from Samira's skin. She's still just "Samira", but in a flashy outfit, fighting in an Arena.

You can bring up legendaries changing interactions with the stage, some of the huds, etc., well a new peak has been set by legends for legends. SF Sam is priced as an ultimate. If ya wanna have that pricing, you drop to 2250rp, cuz you're not doing what GGMF is doing either.
Its proceeds going to a "charity" is an insult to the charity itself, cuz something that newer legendaries have been doing lately is an excuse to dumb down the standard for ultimates instead of *showing* us just how much you want the charity to succeed by pulling out the big guns, like gaining new forms per multikill with the option to swap between them with different animations per the weapons used per form:

But no, apparently the charity isn't even worth a real ultimate skin; never mind a legendary one since ults don't get chromas....which legendaries do. Heck, ONLY the SF Sam skin and the accompanying bundles are going towards the charity. NONE OF THE OTHER SKINS WITH THEIR CHROMAS OR BY THEMSELVES ARE COUNTED.
