INSTALLING A WIDEBODY KIT ON MY E30!! ... *MY FIRST TIME*

- So we're getting the E30 painted at the end of the month, so we need to get it ready for paint! And yes that means installing the full wide body kit on the E30 (and the rest of the bumpers etc)
Now I have never fitted a wide body kit in my life, so this could go terribly wrong.. so please dont take this as a 'how to install a widebody kit' because it defiantly isn't, but lets see how we get on hahah!

That's a e30 m3 bootlid they were mounted further back as rear window had to be done at a different angle.
Exactly what I thought too. It will be off an e30 m3. Different boot lid shape
It's painful to watch them rear arches getting cut seems such a shame to cut up what looks a solid shell 😮

looks mega 👌 imagine it in midnight purple or something would look sickkk prob go for some 17 inch wheel or like you want the 18s just make sure you got plenty of clearance and your gucci ❤ love this build ❤
yeah c pillar is different so the boot would fit and boot hinge are different barum engines are doing one the front end isn't great for lining up so maybe quick release pins and Eddie the grinder.

The rear window a c pillars come out further on m3. They did this for aerodynamics.

It is off e30 it's just m3 you have to change whole rear to m3 to work
That boot lid is for a m3. On the m3 the rear 1/4 piller is at a different angle to aid aero so the actual boot lid is smaller.

Looks like a M3 boot lid. Probably sits back as they add abit to the rear pillar
but surely the hinges dont move back?
I think the M3s had extended rear quarter panels, so the boot would suit back further

The boot lid is designed to be used with the other c Piller
Check some photos of the rear end of a real E30 M3

but the hinges won't move with a different C pillar?

I think the E30 M3 has a different rear parcel shelf along with the c pillar as it's moved back around 2-3 inches or raised I can't remember
But then the hinges fit to the parcel shelf allowing the boot lid to sit correctly
It's alot of work to get right
I would just leave it how you have done

You have to run M3 hinges. Check Norway E30 M3 as they re manufactured everything E30 M3 related, including steel panels. Take a look at mine and you'll see the difference -ua-cam.com/video/YCY66GT2o70/v-deo.html @@itsleelockwood

*That's the M3 boot lid and you need the C pillar. Look at a genuine E30 M3 and you'll see. Mind you, the arches look about as much like the M3's as my nan so I wouldn't worry. You can run Z3 rear arm etc for the 5 stud hubs and they're also wider, so you won't have to run those shite adaptor spacers.*

I don't understand the logic of the wide body kit if you were concerned about the weight of the car. If it is a drift car you are making it wider with plastic panels which will disintegrate when they come into contact with an obstacle. Apart from that love the content lol .
Easier to replace stuff like wide body kits than standard panels there’s a reason drift cars have plastic body work
