    My garlicky Saag Paneer recipe is a family favorite! Palak Paneer, or Saag Paneer, as it’s called in some Indian restaurants, is an Indian creamed spinach recipe with chunks of pan-fried Indian cottage cheese (paneer.) It’s the perfect vegetarian dish, and it’s so good served over basmati rice or with naan!
    This Beginner friendly recipe is simple and easy.

    Delicious - finally found a saag paneer recipe that works and it so simple! I used frozen spinach and also substituted halloumi for paneer. If anyone else decides to make a similar sub, make sure to reduce the added salt significantly, as the halloumi will already be pretty salty.

    • @MyLittleKitchenRecipes
      @MyLittleKitchenRecipes  Рік тому +1

      Yes, definitely. If I had to pick two then Saag Paneer would be one and the other is my Chana Dal which you can find on my channel. Both dishes are different In texture, the Chana Dal is more of a dryish curry whilst the Saag Paneer is slightly wetter curry due to the spinach. If you wanted, you could even throw in a starter, Onion Bhajis or Paneer Tikka. Happy Anniversary to them both and I hope whatever it is you make, you enjoy your time together 💜😊

  • @specialagentdalecooper5367
    @specialagentdalecooper5367 6 днів тому

    Made it this afternoon. I must have used too much ginger (13g instead of the recommended 10g) because unfortunately ginger was mostly what I was tasting, could hardly taste the spinach even though I used 200g of it. Maybe I had a particularly strong ginger sample, I don't know.. 🤔I may just leave it out entirely next time.
    Also, the quantities for the powders are a little unclear: the recipe recommends 1/2 a teaspoon but the quantities on the plate in the video look to be a full teaspoon or more so I used something in between. In hindsight that may have been too much. I really don't mind spicy food but not to the extent where spices are the only thing you taste. I used to order saag paneer all the time from a really good Indian restaurant before I moved and I have never been able to replicate it. I don't remember it being spicy at all. I recommend adding chickpeas, they go great with this dish. Hope I'll do better on my second attempt.
