"Face The Heat" is one of the most underrated Scorpions albums in my opinion. I like it more than "Crazy World". It has so many great riffs, melodies and just really unique ideas. Just listen to "Alien Nation", "Under The Same Sun" or "Woman". Especially "Woman" has one of Klaus' best vocal performances ever and also one of Matthias' best solos. There's no bad song on it in my opinion.
Also nice to see that Klaus and I agree that the Beatles are the best songwriters ever. But I would say that the Scorpions are up there too. Incredible songwriters.

This was them at their peak in terms of vocals, solos and riffs. Their music became more complex, not so 80's but still had the Scorpions feel. I would have really liked to see a few more albums evolve the direction Face The Heat did.

Very good album "face the Heat" was the second album I got after crazy world they became my favorites it brings back a lot of memories of the 90's😌
A very good album. Unfortunately very underestimated. But by 1992/1993 people just wanted to hear "grunge". Had this album come out in 1989, it would have been considered one of the best Scorpions albums today. But the fans know what they have in the album.
What people want to hear today ?
I couldn't agree more. I always liked the grunge era too, but I was disgusted with the way radio and MTV (and even some fans) all started to act as if the hair metal and 80s metal acts never even existed. It was like a Chuck Cunningham of music genres. I never understood why both genres couldn't have co-existed.
Opening song in this album : Alien nation, was most powerful, passionate lead guitar and dark rock all time

I kinda think differently...the album was all over the place . Alien Nation and unholy alliance was trying to be like metallica songs, there were heavy songs. Pop metal songs , Under the same sun was like a Wind of Change part 2 .
It was cleaner production wise . But song wise it had no continuity .
It wasn't just Grunge - metallica and Aerosmith were still very successful.
Maybe it was the producer . He said in an interview there wasn't good material to work with ....but he worked with Van Halen and Kiss later and I didn't like those albums either.
I think Scorpions were already successful and this was an album they could experiment with . They had nothing to prove.
It has some great songs though . Matthias playing is great .
My favorite band by far. Just saw them in Houston last week! Klaus’s voice was as good as the 90s. I was so fortunate to meet them backstage and get their autographs on the Face the Heat tour in San Antonio.
Face The Heat came out when I was a teenager & it was the first Scorpions album I bought!
