Thank you Helen for all the hard work which obviously goes into producing a clothes video. But as another older, larger lady I don’t think H&M clothes are made to suit us. As Caroline Mrs M says, it is not good enough to just size up as these clothes are designed for smaller sizes. Thank you for your efforts but you have much nicer items in your wardrobe.

I lived in Southampton for a few years, in fact I met and married my husband there! He grew up in Hedge End so I know the Sainsbury's etc really well! We're up and down there fairly often too because our younger son is a 'Saint's' fan - bless him!

This may sound weird, but I really appreciate how you use the correct terminology in tailoring! ( Rouleau, for example) My Mum was a tailor and it brings back good memories. Thank you. Also, you can really rock a flowy, pleated skirt.....
Ah thank you. Sometimes the name slips my mind. But I've done a lot of dressmaking in my time so I do know the correct names. xx

Re the caravan, they’ll be something better around the corner Helen. There’s been occasions in my life when something hasn’t worked out, I’ve been disappointed at the time but then it works out for the best in the end. 🌺

I think the black dress looks great on you it's really flattering.. I love watching your channel as it makes me look at clothing in a more positive way. I'm actually waiting to have a thyroidectomy, so I have no idea what size I'm going to be because I've gained weight with the medication I'm a 16-18 at present and the same height as you. But I go from being underweight to overweight. I have clothes that range from a size 10 -22 but I won't throw them out just in case. Thank you for cheering me up.

Hi Helen, the grey dress was the best. I’m not surprised at the sizing and arm length, common problems in H&M. Saying all that I have found some nice unusual pieces in there but I need to go in the shop to look and feel the fabrics. A pain as you have to look through some right tat to find anything decent. Nice to see you laugh again, thank you 😊

I think that sweater dress will be lovely with thick tights and boots and a nice scarf and your set to go out.
Loved the trouser suit. I don’t do blazers up anyway so you could have gotten away with large and got bigger trousers. Colours suits you

Oooh I love the colour of that suit, it's gorgeous, definitely not dark green even with my dodgy eyesight. I really quite like H&M but their sizing is bonkers at times. I always have to take at least 2 different sizes of the same thing and invariably I'm in between two sizes 🙄. Their blazers/jackets are very reasonably priced and always a nice selection of colours. The knitted dress looks really nice on you, methinks it's a keeper👍.

Have to agree with lots of other ladies - the first jumper and the sweater dress look really good on you. I was laughing out loud at the sweater with arms long enough for sweeping the floor with. Thanks for sharing and for a change, we do have H & M in Cyprus. x

I struggle with arms being too long at the best of times. I nearly spat out my tea at that second jumper dress 😅. With the exception of the grey sweater dress and the suit, which was a lovely colour, I wasn't overly keen on this haul. Too baggy.

Abominable snowman comes to mind, what are H&M thinking about. I think you need to downsize on those jumpers . Personally I think you suit bright colours and dresses. You have some beautiful clothes that's for sure. I always look out for you at Hedge End, me and mum love a good old shop, followed by coffee and cake.😊

Hi Helen l shop in H&M and bought the black dress a few weeks ago while looking for an outfit for event we were going to l bought a few dresses in the John Lewis sale too! I did not keep them all but kept the black one for a staple piece. I have to say l was upset to see you speak about the caravan and how disappointed you were, you are much like myself full of fun but very emotional too it is only those very close to me who know how fragile l can be at times. You have a good head on your shoulders and have done the right thing in putting it behind you and moving on. There will be another caravan somewhere out there for you if it is meant to be it will happen. Thank you for all the tips on fashion and make up l have used make up that l would not usually do and got some really nice comments. Take care xxx

Small connection with your tryon today. My son lives in Sweden with wife and two grandchildren. She is a designer for H & M. I am sure she would agree with you on the silly length of the sleeves. Even though she is a designer she is very practical.

I am just watching this in Autumn but the first knitted dress did make me laugh ( clown length sleeves). The first jumper with the v neck was lovely. I like sweater vests ( have a few from M&S) and one from fatface. Snake dress was lovely pattern but way too big for you. I would have preferred it longer too ( as a midi dress). The second sweater dress was lovely on you and good value.

@Helenmaryjo have never bought anything from H&M. Agree, their sizing is all over the place. One could make a comedy sketch on the length of their sleeves. Could I.agine John Cleese making some gestures to H&M. Bought the jacquard skirt from fatface - you modelled that skirt very well with the M&S black top.
Because I reckon I am shorter in the body than you and just loved the striped jumper, I've ordered it. THANKYOU!!! You do the trawling thru websites that I can't be bothered to!! hehe

Thanks for doing the haul Helen. The grey sweater dress looked lovely on you would look nice with black tights and some black boots. First jumper was also nice as for the second jumper jeez! I too love the sage green colour looks classy so it’s a shame the jumper was shapeless and bad material. Black dress looked lovely on you also, sort of dress that would look good from office to a drink afterwards. Suit looked nice I have a couple of their blazers, I do think they are good value for money, loved the colour but agree no way is it dark green x

Love the first jumper on you...we have H&M here in Portugal I find the sizes are all over the place I am a 12/14 has a rule some things fit some things are too big and too small big in some areas small in others you definitely have to try everything on ❤
