Same here bro! Damn. I turn 30 in November. Those carefree teenage days seem so far behind me, the world has changed so much since then. Here's to the next 10!
Just had a baby and 30 in less than 2 weeks. First heard this back in 2010 when I was 18 seems like yesterday! Will always be a nostalgic track for life
January 20’ Still spinning these OG Datsik tracks, Find myself coming down here often. Guilty by nature, nostalgia as well as that familiar chorus bring me back. Have many times. This playlist is killer, takes me down path of righteousness, of that of what is true Dub.. the nasty, gritty grind and vibes, it’s still easy to tell it’s one of his records Samples of Bush Speech are haunting as they forever will be, here as much as ever.
Having listened to Dubstep for about 3 years now, I conclude that this is the best Dubstep tune I have ever heard. Its a timeless classic. It is so well written, produced and arranged that to me this is the track that defines Datsik's style as a whole; and if someone asked me to show them what Dubstep was all about, I would show them this.
Awesome song with a very pertinent message. The way that the first drop comes after "these acts were intended to frighten our nation into chaos" shows just how we reacted. I love how datsik has given a voice to that "quiet, unyielding anger" Top job Datsik
+Jared Spaulding yeaAA... mY ENGLISH LANGUAGE IS SO BAD but i must say... datsik retreat i listenning 5 yers man... best dub .... good is datsik fathom, gecko, gizmi and fully blown i alone do this dubstep on programs
First time I heard this, instant goosbumps. Listened to this tune drunk, high, normal, loud, low. Always good. That harsh snare does it for me too. Fuckin bring back this style Datsik
ad Today, our fellow citizens, our way of life Our very freedom came under attack In a series of deliberate and deadly terrorist acts The victims were in airplanes, or in their offices Secretaries, businessmen and women Military and federal workers Mums and dads, friends and neighbours Thousands of lives were suddenly ended by evil, despicable acts of terror The pictures of airplanes flying into buildings Fires burning, huge, huge structures collapsing Have filled us with disbelief, terrible sadness And a quiet, unyielding anger These acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our nation into chaos and retreat The pictures of airplanes flying into buildings Fires burning, huge structures collapsing Have filled us with disbelief, terrible sadness And a quiet, unyielding anger These acts of mass murder were intended to frighten our nation into chaos and retreat
Every time I listen to this badass dupstep song, I imagine being in heavy bulletproof armor, mowing EVERY single stupid terrorist down while equipped with unlimited machine gun fire, all of it being in slow motion...and I won't stop until they're all dead...
i miss old dubstep. Datsik sucks ass now, so does pretty much all dubstep. Take me back to this, Coki, Loefah, early Skream and Benga, etc... miss that shit. Dubstep is absolute shite now. RIP DUBSTEP
i dunno if I agree with that. i took it as he explained it and this was the collective experience of people experiencing this who were in the tower or the plane and were in chaos because some literally couldn't do anything.i feel if anything it captures a kids size version of the horror we experienced that day
@41W4Y5 I know that's right! Its an old song but I still love it! Datsik is pretty sick live too! Just keeps bringing it. He layed the sickest drop ever!!! when he came to Tulsa with Korn.
i was young too but this tracks aim was to be eerie in my opinion "it's slowed and lowered to show the treachorous villian he is," the vocals really emphasize the deep creepy feeling i think. perfect song
Haven't heard this in years
what a classic 19yrs old jamming this stuff 30 this year wow time's gon by 🙌

Tim Hoffman Charie P. - "at whatever cost"
u should listen to Havok by Datsik then, it's superior to this track
Once I heard Datsik, that was it, I was hooked. Everytime I hear this I get sooooooooo many good memories.

Dubstep that still has a decent amount of bass... Nothing can beat that!
If you ain't heard the 320kbps version... I suggest you find it, haha

I had the same experience about 6 years before you.... lost my house, my dog and gf because of dubstep.....life well spent
Oldschool
I praise Datsik for making this track, this is what got me hooked on Dub

2017 and still my favorite song
Datsik for real is responsible for some of the best Dubstep tracks of all time
2018 ;)
2019
2020 bitcha
2020 and beyond!
2021
It's in fact, is pleasing to hear, imo. You could stay and find the beauty in the way the music unfolds, or you have the search bar to guide you out.
This sounds exactly like Havoc, which is also by Datsik.
The reason it sounds like Havoc is because Havoc is the unfinished version of this. When he finished it, he renamed it.
Ohhhhhh
i got chills running down my spine listening to this well until the drop
2021 all day. _everyday_
Tell me youre an oldhead without telling me you're an oldhead.

All his songs are the best of dubstep hands down
Ooooo so dark.

Havoc + Retreat = Datsik = Dubstep at its finest
This song is still sick

Black Shinobi exactly my thoughts
Black Shinobi if it's old Getter than it's not stuff that's still coming out
This is one of the sickest bassline drops ever!
when i listen to datsik havoc , this sounds like the lagged version of it
it's like a Havoc remix :D
Kacper Lazarek its not a remix, havoc is just a unfinished version of retreat :)
yes i know, i just wrote that retreat sounds like a havoc remix :D
dat dope speedups, yo datsik is a king of dubstep
HES SO GOOD FUCK... he filters his bass so perfect
haha you suck
You suck and swallow fucking internet warrior
most powerful tune synced to the horror that will stain forever
havoc>retreat
This makes me want to retreat into my bed room and cry myself to sleep from its epicness.
i prefer the Havoc version of this song
Lucas Woods supar
That's with almost every artist.
When they start, they make everything they fucking want.
After a while, they start to play in on the industry.
This song is fantastic
Fuck me it took me 1 hour to find this track I couldn't recall the name, it was my way to get people into dubstep back in the days
He makes Bush sound like an evil alien radio message being broadcasted to everyone’s mind via telepathy
i dunno if I agree with that. i took it as he explained it and this was the collective experience of people experiencing this who were in the tower or the plane and were in chaos because some literally couldn't do anything.i feel if anything it captures a kids size version of the horror we experienced that day
weed and dubstep...well there goes my day!
I miss these days. Being in 8th grade listening to music after school
2019 xD i miss the old times:(
DatsiK is by far one of the best dubstep DJ's out there !!! :D
weed + this = perfect match
8 dislikes -> 8 people who didn't have a bunker to retreat to from this explosive bass
@41W4Y5 I know that's right! Its an old song but I still love it! Datsik is pretty sick live too! Just keeps bringing it. He layed the sickest drop ever!!! when he came to Tulsa with Korn.
this is one of datsiks finest
i was young too
but this tracks aim was to be eerie in my opinion
"it's slowed and lowered to show the treachorous villian he is," the vocals really emphasize the deep creepy feeling i think. perfect song
Huge huge structures collapsing
This is what plays in heaven everyday
2019 and still a tune
a video that explains the exact opposite of what it's listeners and maker does. marvelous!
dem good old days
still listening to this years on from first hearing it
i think all the artists always drop the bass at 55 seconds in, so everyone can comment saying "bass dropped like a B0:55"
I finally found some dark dubstep. Nice.
@BeastlyxBrandon Notice that Havoc was the WIP of retreat, but later got released as a separate track, because they were both awesome. cheers
@kaliko559 In the UKF AUGUST MIX the song is Havoc- Datsik. This is the finished version.
Havoc was the unfinished version of Retreat. it was never meant for a formal release, but his peers told him it was.
@Ih8myM8s the song you are thinking of is havoc by datsik which is the unfinished product of retreat by datsik
favorite dubstep
the roasted poppy quickly became into crystals
@afjrotc20041 Its because the majority of dubstep is at 140 bpm, They also usually have the same amount of bars before the drop. :)
2017 November still my fab dubstep song
whos still bumpin this?
2019 and still filthy!
@BeastlyxBrandon Also notice that dubstep is always 140 bpm and usually has a 32 bar intro, so the drop comes very often at 0:55
AMAZING!!!1 SONG!!!! IT´S ELECTRIC OMG!
all his music is great because hes unique
Fav tune of all time ^_^ Too jam, But i could skank out too hard to this aswell
my fav track from datsik:)!
