It was great to be a kid in the 70's.
Yes it was
Absolutely.
So true!
"It sure was"
I liked being 20 in the 70's instead of 70 in the 20's
R.I.P To A Great Actor Comedian Robin Williams, Still Miss You Always 😢,Gone To Soon
Awww. I miss Robin Williams. He was the BEST. 😭😭😭😭😭
Me, too!
why cant we go back to these days these people these stars, these great times... sigh!!!!!!!!! loved these and these times.... stars were like family to us. eventho we didnt know them personally.... not like today..its so sad...
today they wouldn't know how to define 'females'.
It used to be one of greatest tv shows of the years 1970s/1980s
I was watching this and for an instant I felt as if I was back in 1978.
Oh robin. How amazing you were! RIP!!
This is pure gold!
These are incredible absolutely pure gold!
2:41 Two decades later, David Letterman would be back at CBS hosting The Late Show
Robin Williams Rest in Peace you will be missed.
Used to love this
What a great concept this was. Nowadays, forget it...
I loved watching these shows. Most of ABC’s team has died. , Richard Hatch, Bob Urich, Robin Williams.
Howard Cosell , Frank Gifford also
I actually remember watching this, I loved all the Battle of the Network Stars, and just think back then Actors didn't use there platform to push an agenda, What a concept, they did what they were paid to do, Act and Entertain!!
Awesome beautiful view
Always great 2 c that the stars r very human. A lot of heroes on this edition.
Within the last week, I’ve seen Eric Estrada, William Shatner, Charlene Tilton, on the Masked Singer, ha!
For those people who remember the "original" run of Battlestar Galactica the absolutely gorgeous Maren Jensen.
How great these days were! If they had this today I wouldn't know any of the "stars". Today the only time my tv is ABC, NBC, or CBS is for sports. These stations might as well be dead with the shows they have now
Example of when something is so dumb...it's brilliant. Letterman must have needed to be sedated each day to appear in this. Having real sportscasters try to give commentary to such silly competitions is the joke within the joke. Conrad's antics supplied the tension and watching the celebrities try to make fun of the whole thing is wonderful. I'm 62 and can clearly remember watching some of these when originally broadcast and prayed that each episode would provide some quality time to Lynda Carter's knockers.
I used watch Battle of the network stars. The only thing was some of the actors in the battle of the network of the stars. I had really heard of. Some where on TV mini series.
Great to look back on these and see the TV greats who later died of drug OD, suicide or a slow descent into madness.
Cosell's commentary is hilarious😃
Real stars of Hollywood
RIP Robin..
God damn Maren Jensen was SMOKIN. Holy cow
1:34 William Devane, the pride of Albany, NY
Letterman (CBS) and Joyce Dewitt (ABC) competing against each other. They both went to college at Ball State University in Indiana; Joyce would act in crazy skits Letterman wrote.
This is an example of real Hollywood stars. Real people, not the phony jackasses nowadays, trying to tell the world how to think.
I heard David Letterman switched teams! Haha!
Love Bob Conrad
I loved Bob Comrad
I MEAN BOB COnrad
Baa Baa Blacksheep
@@bradlafferty6076 The Wild, Wild West.
Letterman was never competitive, but he had the best career of anyone other than (maybe) Robin Williams.
Don't start me on Robert Conrad I'm sorry he died I am rest in peace but wizened easiest person with Gabe Kaplan I'm sure he's forgotten but I've been Gabe Kaplan won fair and square back then so that's that that's my story and I'm sticking to it
watching quite a few of these and ''cbs is dead'' seems to be a common theme, lmao
Apollo vs Captain Kirk vs Venus Flytrap vs Letterman vs Mr Kotter...now that's entertainment.
Right, the year my older sister graduated from high school the year I bust my head wide open jumping over cement benches trying to do with my older brothers and sisters was doing, and the year I got stung by a bee, and I had got chicken pot. Bad things that happened to me it was good time though
Thank you

5:20 longer than I thought it’d be. My ladies always say that
Well Joe Bottoms Won the Competiton for NBC Great Swimmer and Great Athlete.
Dis show was definitely based on my life..
Pepperdine U and Malibu looked so beautiful

5:47 ... 😭😢😖😭😭😭😭
Cosell adds gravitas
OOH STIL LOVE ROBERY URIC
Well I Like Joseph Bottoms when he was introduced he stuck his Butt out to the Audience hes very Handsome.
this has to be in the early Eighties not 78, David Letterman was an unknown weatherman back in 78...
No, this was 78. David Letterman was a weatherman in the very early 70s but by 78, he was already doing some national TV roles and guest spots.
He was in the CBS variety-comedy show called "Mary" hosted by Mary Tyler Moore, according to Wikipedia.
Very obscure show lasting only 1 season and only 3 episodes which explains why he was on the CBS team.
@@dannyboyy8465 And a cast member of the Star Land Vocal Band summer series.
who wouldn't want a pretty young lady saying this while you're wearing a Speedo next to her.....? 5:21
Robin Williams looked depressed even back then. Wow. Rip
I always look south regardless of who's wearing a speedo. Cant help it. Junk on parade
🤣🤣🤣
Same
Kotter too ?
Williams very bashful in a speedo like he has something to hide🤔
I knew David Letterman didn't belong
Bill Devane purposely got in their way. He cheated the Hulk!
