Battery powered, light weight, and built in dmx and or control is the future of DJing.
100% agree
Thank you so much for the review and demo of the PartyBar Mobile 150 by ColorKey! Your insights are invaluable, especially highlighting its convenience and versatility. As a mobile DJ, I truly appreciate learning about gear that can enhance my setup. Thank you for sharing this with us!
Thank you for watching! 🙏
Yeah, these have been well received. Thing that people are learning is that derbies and lasers are almost completely out, so no one really needs them.
This is one I was waiting to see at least a few people what they thought. A few friends have given feedback that they're way better than expected, so I already have one on the way. The bag being smaller than the GBM along is enough for me to be down for it.
The gbm case is a behemoth in comparison lol yeah this thing is pretty handy
@@DJDarylBennett Honestly, that's what I'm more excited about. Most of the time I'm fine with IR4 and tubes, especially now that I can add cans...but every so often I'd like to be able to add some directional wash but there's nothing to mount to. This'll be great...whenever they decide to ship.
Thanks Daryl. I bought 2 of these. Used them this last Saturday. They lasted from 5pm-midnight no problem.
I only have 2 complaints. First the lighting stands that come with them are really short and poor quality. No big deal as I use gravity stands. The second complaint is that the par lights, where they’re mounted to the brackets with thumb screws can cons lose during shipping like mine did and the nuts inside the lights are not mounted. So do not unscrew them all the way out or you’ll have to perform surgery on your lights to get them mounted again.
Cheers! Hope the info is useful.
I totally agree about the stands, like I mention in the video. I also used my gravity stands, but it's cool that comes with a stand for the price point. Sorry about your thumb screws came loose! Luckily mine did not
Great review. I’ve been looking it at for a while now.
Thanks for watching!
Good to see more battery powered lighting options.
Agreed! It’s definitely the future of mobile work
Thanks Daryl!!
Thanks for watching!
Pretty nice and straight forward lighting system. Would like to see it in a venue also.
It’s coming 🙌
Great Review been very curious to see other's reviews on this new line up from color key. Even without movers I think that these will do well in the market place as many customers will run movers separately. I think if they want to get serious about the market space would like to see them have a pro level model with two movers. Then they can give Chauvet a run for their money. Will be very interested to see where Color Key goes with this line up. Thanks for the review great content as always.
Thanks for watching! They do have some other light bars with other configurations and they also sell movers separately
Great product review as always Daryl! 👍🏻👍🏻👍🏻 but hey, do you have a code for soundswitch apps? Thanks
I should ask lol I may be able to for the software, and I have some coupons for hardware thru a couple of distributors
My only thing is the diodes; I’m not a fan of seeing them. I like the route ADJ went with their Dotz T-par setup. It’s got a single “bulb” diode and looks much cleaner and not so busy.
This one’s battery power seems good though. Those clear strobe diodes in the bar are smart! Very good! 👍🏾
I thought about that this week, comparing my chauvet core 3x3 (same type of dotz diode) vs the wash fx hex. One looks way better on camera.
I still use the Chauvet 4 bar tri USB. Built like a tank and takes 2 seconds to plug in and throw a transmitter on top. This is a decent alternative and I would definitely consider it at that price if mine died. I also mount 1-2 of the SHEHDS 2eye cob's on top of the unit for crowd blinder moments (I point them to the ceiling, not on the crowd)...you should review those.
Dude same I think the 4bar tri is the best lights ever made just such it was rgbwa
I just love the battery and built wireless so much. That’s a great idea with the shehds blinder. They just sent me a couple of lights to review, so I gotta do those first. I’ve considered using my both chroma cannons as battery blinders
@@PreenonHuq totally...not having the amber sucks
@@DJDarylBennett I hear you. I already have to plug in 2 moving heads so I don't mind one more thing to plug in, but that's a good unit. i'd probably buy it if i didn't already have the 4 bar tri
I’d be interested in your soundswitch profiles if you could add gigbar move ils 🤞
Done. I added it a couple weeks ago :)
Nice review, My initial opinion:
1. looks like a toy (-)
2. lightweight (+)
3. again, looks like a cop car from a distance (-)
4. rechargeable (+)
5. IR remote (-)
6. $500 is a bit steep for something that doesn't put out much light (-)
7. Case/bags (+)
Hey Daryl, thanks for the video! The discount code doesn't seem to work at Hollywood DJ
I just tried it, it should work! Are you going to HollywoodDJ.com and using DJDarylBennett?
Me overhere acquiring some new good old dimmer bars with Par 56 300W MFL and buying every single new lamp I can.
In a few years nobody will have those anymore and guess who they will come to when they want appropriate lighting for that 70s/80s party?
It's already starting...
I used to have a set, they’re pretty cool and can warm things up if you’re cold 😝
@DJDarylBennett Warming things up is minimal when you have them running chases all night.
But they have a nice retro vibe, dead simple to use with a simple controller and I also do not have to worry about any leaking memory batteries in the ones I have.
Plus they nicely go along with my age....
I want to see with sound switch!
It’s coming, used it a couple of days ago
Not bad. For years I’ve been running a chauvet flex bar 4 T with a Omars battery and o-clamp. I like the chauvets wireless foot switch. Not a fan of the dinky strobes on this one.
To be honest, me neither. Now that I have it connected via SoundSwitch, I only activate them with manual input (for like a drop or something)
I’ve never really used the foot switch on my gigbar 2. Glad that you liked it!
@@DJDarylBennett The pars on the flex bar will strobe on the color or colors that are activated. I like that.
It has wireless DMX , but you didn't show what protocol it uses, or if it's possible to change channels on wireless dmx...
It uses the standard no name wireless dmx and you can change it to the color channels like any donner dongle set
@@DJDarylBennett Great!
the discount code doesn't seem to work for this item
I was able to get it to work, are you trying DJDarylBennett at HollywoodDJ.com?
Nothing bad about gig bar style lighting... It's definitely More of a budget and convenience to add effects with minimal effort... That's not a bad thing... But if we're being honest, that doesn't give necessarily the most professional or top-tier appearance...
Because if you're being completely honest when you look at them, they scream concert lighting or school prom/School dance lighting...NOT elegance.
So again not trying to bash them or saying they're bad... They were created with a purpose and a particular aesthetic in mind... And I just don't see them in the setups of top tier high-end private function djs
They could've kept 2 movers
I don’t think colorkey has ever had 2 movers on a light bar like Chauvet. TBH I like my movers off the light bar
Color-key are great lights. I use them a lot but, the stands they come with are complete cheap trash.
I agree that they’re not my favorite, but I like that it comes with one and the light bar is a complete lighting solution
Does djs really find this gig bars even interesting??
A lot of DJs like the elegant simplicity of washes and convenience of battery and built in wireless
