I started playing bass roughly 6 months ago. Still new to it or any stringed instrument but I love the sound. I play a Ibanez SR300EB, great bass. With a Katana bass amp, no problem achieving Tools sound with it. Can achieve quite a bit of different sounds all around actually with that Katana amp. Tool is a dam good band, love the music. . . . . 🤘
Tool is an interesting one for learning. Simple in terms of hand movements/dexterity, but very nuanced patterns, and the bass is even more subtle. Pneuma is quite good for learning bass for that reason.
He kinda got lost in explaining the potentiometer and the 18v preamp that he didn't really mention why he chose the a stingray specifically for descending, instead of the Wal.
I know he's not. I know he's remarkable. But Justin makes me think of Spinal Tap so much. I was waiting to hear how high the pot numbers go, where most ghost controls only go up to ten.

Ever had the opportunity to A/B against a Wal? I'm just curious on tonal difference.
Not a bass player but always liked the look & sound of the StingRay.

True. Easy to pick up like HYSTERIA by Muse.

Maybe to let more of the song come through as stingrays aren’t as powerful sounding as a wal
