Yes you can! You'll need to have your document set up for spreads, then you can drag a left page next to your right page, and vice versa. You do have to drag them onto your normal page separately though.

All of my pages say "A-Parent" none say "A-Master", so I'm unable to add page numbers.

They should have just kept the old name to avoid confusion

I can see why some have an issue with Master/Slave...and in 5 years, there won't be any confusion because everything will have switched over to Parent. :)
