A very intelligent and very articulate woman, her comments are fascinating. I read the introduction Ms. Parker wrote to a Dark Shadows novel and I expected something in the line of how it was a pleasure to work with Jonathan Frid or the enjoyment of wearing old-fashioned clothes but Lara Parker wrote a well-thought-out essay on how Dark Shadows fits into the Gothic tradition and has something for a world "...devoid of spiritual meaning". I've read that Lara Parker has a Master's Degree in creative writing and she is certainly an accomplished non-fiction writer.
I've seen this video before but didn't notice until now that we're seeing Lara Parker here in an updated version of her portrait from "Dark Shadows". In the TV series there was a portrait of Angelique wearing a white gown and in the background is a lamp with a glass globe. In this video Ms. Parker is wearing a dark suit and in the background is a lamp with a glass globe.
I love Lara Parker great actress got a lovley letter note from Lara in December of 1975 I was 19 at the time she asked me to write a certin adress about helping her get a role in some thing she was wanted a part in a nice pic she signed too saw her Race with the devil in 1977 and loved her in Dark Shadows have 3 of her books Angeliques Dsecendant is my favorite got at Thrift .com books love it herall her books
Her Eyes have been so hypnotic that people have forced her to keep them open to view them as deeply as possible. So, she is blinking now to make up for lost time! lol
She played that part so well. I was in about 5th or 6th grade the first time she came on. She would be smiling and looked like the all American girl and the next minute scare the hell out of you. Lol. Was hard to keep up because the show ran between when I was about 10 -16 yrs old. When I hit jr high didn’t catch it as much. Wanted to, but by 15 I was driving a car. HODS was awesome. Saw the movie several times at 14 and 15. Carolyn was my hero and I was pissed off the way they shredded her in the movie. At least she was at peace in the end. Only survivors I recall besides Maggie and Jeff were David and Elizabeth. Hell of a party that night. NODS pissed me off because they killed off Carolyn n Willie in an unseen car crash. I found that unnecessary. Lara, David Selby, and Kate Jackson starred in that and Only God knows what happened to Kate after you see her walk into Collinwood. My Mom,Friends, and I couldn’t get enough of this awesome show. I really tried to look like Carolyn even into my mid 20s. Thanks.
