I was there for a day in late October 2023 while traveling around England. Beautiful. I would love to go back. The walking paths along the river were very nice and relaxing.

This is one of my best love architecture in Britain. Such immaculate details.

A very interesting and enthusiastic presentation of this important city of English heritage. I have, over the years, spent a good deal of time in Winchester, although mostly in the Cathedral library, home to many fascinating and rare medieval manuscripts. Most things have been covered in this video walk, but mention should be made of the Winchester Bible, a large 12th Century illuminated manuscript, and arguably the finest example of it`s kind in existence.
Don`t forget to marvel at the slumped floor within the cathedral, due to it being built on ground prone to water seepage - the cathedral being saved from collapse by the enormous efforts of diver, William Walker. A story of determination and courage all by itself :)
Excellent walk though - so very well done indeed !!!!!!!

There is a world popular song in the early 1970's titled Winchester Cathedral.

I'm never sure why so many overseas tourists go to Stonehenge when nearby Salisbury and Winchester have more impressive examples of what man can build out of stone.

Tintagel Castle, which was built in North Cornwall in the 13th Century is said to be the castle that was built on top of Camelot which was built in the 5th or 6th Century.

Another great video 👍 major credit to you and your channel for providing the best content surrounding towns and cities! Any chance you’d have a look at Barnstaple, North Devon? Born there myself and knowing it’s relatively undervalued history from being a historically major port, to having its own language and an extensive history I think it would make a fantastic video for the channel!

A wonderful video, however, Kings School, Canterbury, is the oldest continuous school in the world, not Winchester College.

Surely the "longest medieval cathedral in Europe" would be the longest medieval cathedral in the world - since there aren't any longer medieval cathedrals outside Europe. So why not push the boat out and say "longest medieval cathedral in the world"......
