I have a restaurant ally behind my house lots of Stray Cats, I BBQ a lot at night so I have made many CatFriends over the past 15yrs & some have made my house their home my main Cat is a 7yr old wild Bengal (Beavis) that was born in my garage. she looks like a WildCat but is very Nice n Sweet. Yeah Cats r Cool!!!
I love cats, and it always makes me sad when some people give them a bad rap. They're very loving creatures, but it takes a certain willingness to understand them on their level and connect with them to realize what they're communicating. Much respect to Doug and Channel Awesome for promoting these charitable organizations, and I hope it inspires some people to help find homes for these wonderful animals.
I adopted my cat from my local vet clinic since there is no shelter for miles in my town so the clinic doubles some times as a shelter. My cat was a stray, she had no home and a rough life(has a broken tooth to prove it). But she picked me; she snuggled into my arms, purring up a storm louder then a car engine. That was years ago, she is now 7 yrs. old and she snuggles with me as I watch Nostalgia Critic episodes.
I adopted a cat two years ago. She was found in a kill shelter (next on the list supposedly). She was 4 years old at the time and she was terribly afraid of males. A few days after I first saw her, I went back to the no-kill shelter and adopted her. She is still afraid of males but has made an agreement with my partner. She likes to sleep on plastic bags. We're pretty sure she was abused, abandoned, and eventually brought to the original kill shelter. She is one of the best things in my life. Adopt from shelters people!
CATS! Oh god every time i visit a shelter it's SO hard not to just get every single one. I have two and I ADORE them-my Siamese boy, and my Russian Blue Mix girl....They're such sweethearts. They help calm me down when filming, they help keep me happy....Cats especially are so misunderstood but once you actually pay attention to their body language, MUAH. Relationship goes to a WHOLE other level.
In the last year my girl and I adopted 2 cats. She was the one that picked them out and picked them up. We both have a strong bond. There is a decent amount of worked involved so make sure you want a pet before you adopt.
Pets are so amazing and enriching. I have a bunch of animals I take care of and love. I got a doberman, a Asian forest scorpion, tri-colored scorpion, flat rock scorpion, pink toed tarantula, a baby Mexican redleg tarantula, a baby Kenyan sand boa male, an Anery morph Kenyan sand boa female, two leopard geckos male and female, and a Vietnamese centipede. My female sand boa is amazing, she is extremely therapeutic and comes with me to calm me down during counseling sessions. She also enjoys sitting with me as we watch a movie or even hanging out on my desk as I do things on the computer. She is here with me now, actually. My dog is also my service dog, since the boa cant exactly be a service animal. He is extremely loyal and very friendly towards everyone. Everyone should have at least one pet. Be it creepy crawly or cute and fluffy.
My cat is a rescue from a local shelter. I can truly say she saved my life and gave me light during the worst of my depression. Rescue pets really understand that you've saved their life and they'll love you a whole lot more for that. Thanks for highlighting this organisation, Doug. Definitely gonna donate to them.
I felt this so hard, I volunteered every weekend at a local pet shelter for three years, plus I have two fur babies at home. I gave a donation in honor of my two kitties that passed away last year, and my two current kitties that are on my lap right now.
Both my cats are adopted, and I went out of my way to find a home for a stray kitten I found on my move cross country. Animals who have suffered have the most love to offer, and they love without bounds
I adopted 2 kittens this year & I love them dearly. Both are brothers from the same litter & they're inseparable. They follow me, play, sleep, & even wait at the door when I come home from work; they're such sweet hearts.
To Doug and all of you at Channel Awesome, you are doing a great thing by giving these organizations a platform to spread their goals. And donating your time to interview and promote them along with creating awesome content, just shows how devoted you all are. 👍
adopt an animal from a shelter, you will save two lives! the life of your new companion and the life of the animal that would take their place and would have the chance to be adopted next (:
As someone who has loved animals all my life, I know just how important it is to have shelters like this around. I recently began working for my local non-profit, and all I do is clean up after cats all day. But the job is kind of second place compared to seeing a cat find their forever home, and I feel privileged that I can help in that process. Thank you Doug for bringing this cause to people's attention. I truly hope that some of those fur babies are able to be adopted because of this video.
Thank you so much for showing an animal shelter as a charity event going on. Animals need love, attention, support, and help just as much as people do so I really do appreciate that you're showing this and spreading the word to help
I adopted a stray I originally went in for a younger cat but fell in love with 14 year old 'Bug' she's half the size of a normal cat. (Was likely starved as a kitten thus never grew) has a broken tooth and a limp from a broken bone that never healed right. She is the sweetest thing loves affection and using me as a bed instead of one of the 3 beds I got her.
This is a great idea for a great cause. I wish I could've had a place like this near my town with my old dog Sadie. Thank you, and this will be a great help. The Channel Awesome Team: You are amazing people and very kindhearted. Thank you :).
I got my dog from a rescue shelter, she is one of the best things to ever happen to my life. You can trust charities like this since they always have such amazing animals
Honestly the only animal I've properly adopted through a shelter is my Yorkie/Schnauzer mix who was picked off the streets in a nearby town. He clearly had many negative interactions with humans and developed fears towards certain things like glass bottles and feet. But over time with love and patience, those fears just dissolved away leaving a perfectly happy dog I wouldn't trade for anything in the world. He was a young pup when I got him and now he's entering his golden years. The rest of my animals found me instead and I love them all the same.
About 3 months ago, we adopted a shelter dog named Jack. He is so so sweet but we recently found out he was abused in a previous home (he flinches when I put my hand up, won’t let you touch certain parts of him, is very fearful) but he loves people. Everyday, I come home and he’s sitting right by the door waiting for me. He is just an amazing boy.
Great new segment! I have two rescued greyhounds (retired racers) and a cat who used to be a stray kitten. I love that Doug is giving us more details about charities
I love animals so much. Not that long ago I was a volunteer at a no kill sanctuary for cats called Purrfect Pals. Just spending time with the cats made me happy. But watching the cats get adopted to the right family was the best feeling ever. I am currently applying at Petsmart so I can spend more time with all sorts of animals. Wish me luck. And thank you for sharing this video. #wildlifewarrior
My mom adopted a 18 pound tabby cat for me after some hard moments with anxiety; he's down to 15, and is so talkative!!! Awesome work Nostalgia Critic : )
Rescue cats are the best! Last year, I adopted a cat that no one seemed to want, because she was too skittish. She was born a stray and they think she was mistreated. Probably by some kids or something. Because she got along great with other cats, but not with people. But she let me hold her for a long time. And I knew she had to come home with me. Now she's just a big baby who will cuddle all day. She just needed a chance. And two days ago I adopted a kitten. They are already friends. And the kitten is just the sweetest thing.
Beautiful center, places like this should be available more than the places that don't care enough to save a life. I'll never get how someone can put an animal down when there's alternative solutions.
I love all animals and I think what ya'll are doing is amazing, I loved my pet and I know my dog had an amazing life and ya'll are helping these animals have the same. Keep up the good work.
what an awesome charity/place. thank you for always introducing me to new charities !! this one especially makes me want to open a Save A Pet 🐶🐱💞 in my state. xoxo
It’s always good to adopt an animal but people should be aware that when you first get your new friend home they may need some time to adjust to the new place they may hide and act a little standoffish please be patient if they do they probably just need a little time and space
Jen C Very true. When my dog Marley first came to us, she was nervous about being in a new place and missed her foster mom. Pretty soon, though, she made herself at home.
I'd love a pet but my apartment isn't a suitable living space for one :/ That's a good reason to visit my dads farm occasionally to check up on their kittie which is a rescued little missy. She's still skiddish among people but sometimes she just walks up to you and lies down on your feet
doug that was awesome... after the whole RSPCA ad thing... it was nice of you to actually explain the whole process to everyone and explain why donating to charity shelters is needed to stop them having to put down the dogs... while also shouting out this awesome shelter... i mean not as effective as threatening to murder a dog on tv in front of a bunch of kids... but it was still good ahaha
my dog was put down a week ago this past Friday, he was sick I miss him he was only 6 years old it’s weird walking around the house and he’s not there 😔😔
Hey @Channel Awesome, can you do a review of the bad 50s cartoon called The Adventures of Paddy the Pelican and also do a Top 10 Worst Voice Acting in Western Cartoons as well please?
Thank you Doug for putting this awesome charity on my radar - just submitted a donation :)
+Elena Harfen Thank you for donating!
My current cat was a stray
She's such a sweet little cat and I love her so much
I have a restaurant ally behind my house lots of Stray Cats, I BBQ a lot at night so I have made many CatFriends over the past 15yrs & some have made my house their home my main Cat is a 7yr old wild Bengal (Beavis) that was born in my garage. she looks like a WildCat but is very Nice n Sweet. Why would anyone thumbs down this video? Heartless.
Thank you for bringing light to pet adoption Doug! I'm a huge advocate for rescue/adoption as there are SO MANY homeless animals out there.
My current cat was a stray
Let them live in the wild as intended.
LunarEffect Ironic how he, Rob and Mike can’t respect his former Channel Awesome members.

I really genuinely appreciate Doug for doing this.
Doug's the fricken best. Love that guy.
Matthew Mendolia Shame he, Rob and Mike are scumbags who lead to nearly every member of Channel Awesome to leave.
Freaken worst more like.
@@thecinematicmind you're still on about that crap?
Y4123 I agree thats in the past.
The cinematic mind- move on douche bag.
Michael Greenwell I have actually. Shame you defend them and haven’t move on from them. Tosser.

These sort of PSA's really shows what a good man you are, Doug :)

He must be mischievous
It's awesome that this people really try to help this poor pets

Those are the kind of friends who Love you no matter what. Take care of them.
As an animal lover who lives with two stray cats I one hundred percent support this charity. Looking forward to see more of these videos

I adopted My Sweet Alice 4 years ago . . . She's my first cat of my hole life and I love her so much 💕
The Mr Peanutbutter shirt is perfect LOL

My grandma got a 🐈 cat from the street and now he loves us and he feels safe around us
Thank you! In NJ, check out Tabby's Place. It's a no-kill shelter there.

Thank you for bringing even more attention to charities like this Doug, I look forward to seeing more of this type of awareness!
Our dog was a rescue off the street. We've had him for two years now. And he is the sweetest dog ever! ❤

I adopted my cat from a shelter when she a bit sick, she's my best friend, she loves to watch nostalgia critic with me
This video makes me sad for those animals 😢😢😢😢😞😞😞.I going to adopt one right now.
keep up the great work Doug!

Doug petting a kitty is pretty gosh darn cute!🐱
My mom adopted a 18 pound tabby cat for me after some hard moments with anxiety; he's down to 15, and is so talkative!!! Awesome work Nostalgia Critic : )

I have an Australian Shepard, her name is Baila. She's a nice and energetic dog, but she can get so restless, noisy and jealous at times!
Beautiful center, places like this should be available more than the places that don't care enough to save a life. I'll never get how someone can put an animal down when there's alternative solutions.
So that’s what he looks like without a hat... *_put it back on now_*
not just a great charity but a great way to volunteer as well
I love animals so much. I'm a proud cat mama. 😻 I wish there was a Save-A-Pet in my area because I would love to work there.
Thank you for posting these how you can help videos.
I love all animals and I think what ya'll are doing is amazing, I loved my pet and I know my dog had an amazing life and ya'll are helping these animals have the same. Keep up the good work.
That Mr. Peanutbutter shirt is great
what an awesome charity/place. thank you for always introducing me to new charities !! this one especially makes me want to open a Save A Pet 🐶🐱💞 in my state.
xoxo
lovely charity shout out I love my animals. 😻🐶
You’re awesome Doug
Thank you for this Doug!!! you are the best!
Awww! I wish I could have a pet...
How do you dislike something like this if you dislike the video then please explain to me
Some people just hate pets. I had a neighbor when I was a kid that shot and killed a couple of our cats for no reason.
Phil Swift's sentimental side really came through
No kill animal rescue ?!!! omg now that is something i want to support and hope more will! just like hope for paws!
This is awesome on chanel awesome. They need one of these in Long Beach Ca, or even Orange County
They do. Try googling one. There's way more than you'd think.
Your growing extraordinarily.
Wow, 1995, the year I was born. Amazing.
Well done doug... Well done...
Always wanted to get famous enough and eventually open a shelter for dogs and cats. Very high on the list ^^
Man I wish this had more views, such a great video
Doug is such a cool guy
Awesome how it was done after the "Sleepwalkers" review. Cats are awesome!
Wholesome Dough is best Dough
I volunteer for another no-kill shelter in Illinois. Shelters could always use more volunteers.
AAAWWWWWW!!!!!!!!! cuteness overload :)
Hey Doug I'm so glad you are supporting stopping animal cruelty. Ever thought about getting a pet?
I'd love a pet but my apartment isn't a suitable living space for one :/ That's a good reason to visit my dads farm occasionally to check up on their kittie which is a rescued little missy. She's still skiddish among people but sometimes she just walks up to you and lies down on your feet
I always adopt from my local shelter.
I can't be the only one who thought about the dog commercial when they saw this video
I miss my dog Niya, she was such a sweet dog.
I am ready to watch Doug get attacked by a cute cat.
I wish i could have a dog but im working all day and i live alone. Btw love the mr. Peanutbutter shirt
Does save a pet have a Canadian location? Sounds like a fun thing to volunteer for.
CANADA IS EVIL THING. IT HAS RAPE ITEMS IN BABY SHOWERS
doug that was awesome... after the whole RSPCA ad thing... it was nice of you to actually explain the whole process to everyone and explain why donating to charity shelters is needed to stop them having to put down the dogs... while also shouting out this awesome shelter...
i mean not as effective as threatening to murder a dog on tv in front of a bunch of kids... but it was still good ahaha
this is so important
my dog was put down a week ago this past Friday, he was sick I miss him he was only 6 years old it’s weird walking around the house and he’s not there
😔😔
Sorry for your loss, rest in peace.
I wish I could donate, but I would _love_ to help out stray animals.
If your area is anything like mine they require volunteers pretty much all the time.
Yay for no kill shelters!!!!
Very inspired good work Doug ...good work
Awesome people.
I have a Dacshund named Hercules.
I have a cat named Ellie
That thumbnail is like "You stay away from catnip, you little shit!".
He's growing hair again anyway great charity
Anyone else reminded of The Pound Puppies movie review?
If anything that movie is a warning _against_ pet adoption.
LET 'EM ROT!
The only reason I can't do anything for those places is because I live in Brazil.
But I like to watch all the same
Cute cat.
What the heck I got randomly put on the video
Cats are the best! But Doug (Dog?) may disagree...
This is really awesome
Hey @Channel Awesome, can you do a review of the bad 50s cartoon called The Adventures of Paddy the Pelican and also do a Top 10 Worst Voice Acting in Western Cartoons as well please?
Matthew Kelly is right. But you should review the captain underpants movie
Would be a good "Was That Real?" episode
@MOVIEGOD 101
Why? The movie was faithful to the books and received fairly decent reception.
