    Talking about mistakes make your podcast very real. And I like it that way.

    Oh, Mandy! I’m so sorry to hear about the fire after all of that cleaning! I have that kind of luck as well. I hope you took a good rest after all of that. ❤❤

    I would use a small crochet hook to help with picking up stitches with the yarn you are using. Then you won’t forget to change your knitting needle.

    Wow. Socks are coming along well. Almost halfway through the 6 pairs too. They do look loose on the blockers, but Dave's foot shows they fit well. How interesting. I must say, getting the fit right for someone else you have no knowledge of feet or preferences of in socks is probably the hardest task to be given in sock making. Looking forward to seeing the rest created, how they all look, and hear the joy a gift of handmade socks will no doubt bring.
    I've never made fingering weight socks on larger needles. Like you, only with DK yarn. Even with DK weight yarn I'll choose 2.75mm, 3mm or 3.25mm and no bigger, depending on the variance found in DK yarns, to get that firmer fabric required for socks. Tending to be more of a loose knitter I wouldn't want to go bigger according to personal tension anyway. I typically refer to my DK socks as bed socks. Though I usually make DK socks for men to wear in boots.
    I love the colour of your Breezeway in creation. It's totally worth undoing and redoing a part in the making if it isn't turning out right. I think one of the major advantages of knitting for yourself is that you CAN deviate from the industry standard and make a pattern fit well on your own shape as you make it. It's working out where the extra needs to be added or taken away that can be a challenge. Seeing what all the "so and so's" have done on UA-cam, where people show how well or not some change worked for them is a great help to figure out another tactic if something isn't working for yourself. I think showing the fails are just as important, if not more so for what can go wrong, than showing what has worked.
    I love that idea of showing all the minis on a long needle. Makes seeing all those colours together alive and drool worthy.

    Glad you were safe with the fire and all. I understand the issue of winding with a sore wrist. I had tried to wind some with a broken arm. Take care

    Hi Mandy. Thanks for a great video. Just to let you know your kofi link is not taking you direct to your Kofi account. Also I know what your body talk is all about as mine has been yelling at me for the past 3 days 😂😂😂. Have a good week.

    Do you have a video on how you dye your yarn? If not, what type of dye color do you use?

    • @MousesMakes
      @MousesMakes  4 місяці тому

      I did do one last year. Just a vlog, not a tutorial or anything.
      I use acid dyes from different companies. If you're looking for a tutorial, there are loads out there. Have a look at Chem Knits. It's a good place to start x
