Hi! I'm a farm wife, mama to two and coffee addict - raking my way through life on the farm, inviting you along. I believe all of our stories matter and that they all relate more than we think.
My husband, two children and I work and live on a beef cattle operation in Milton, NC on the Central NC/VA line. No two days are the same around here and I use this vlog to show the good, the bad, the hard and the rewarding we find in this life. If you like what you see, I'd love for you to subscribe and tell a friend who might enjoy, as well. This community is growing and I love interacting with you all. Farm hard, live well.
He maybe an older man but his cat like reflexes still work at a moment's notice. God bless that hard working man.
You talking to me? Who else is in here?? priceless lmao
Well, now most of the time she is talking to us.... through the camera, so that was a legitimate question.
Meredith everyone needs to watch their eyes around the lathe. Safety glasses are a must. Those metal clips fly!
Meredith- There's a little bit of fuzz on it.
Love that you're keeping it real!
“Not perfect, learnin”...priceless your are, just stay true to yourself and you will be unstoppable. Yes you make a great “Team”, you and LB. a guy (me) can have the worst day...and then watch your vlog and it all goes away.
Lathing is Turning. He Turned it on the lathe. If turning a part with a flat face ,He Faced it on the lathe, If a part is machined on the inside, he Bored it on the lathe, threading on a lathe is called Single Pointing. For safety no long sleeves, no rings, small rags. lube with lube oil, cut with cutting oil..Cutting bits are always on center line.Have fun,-mike
now that Lawrence is talking more now we all see why you love him.
He's warming up more to the camera. ;-)
Famous quote by DeNiro in the movie Taxi, "You talking to me" Had to laugh when L B said it. LB should be called the sheep whisper.
I thought the same thing! LOL!
When Lawrence said, "No one else is ever going to pile them up like that.", it was one of the funniest things I've heard on this channel (the way he said it).
Your farm looks beautiful after the snow!
This may be your best video to date!!! Front to back it was hilarious and entertaining with LT making it even better with his comments!!!
What a great smile LB has. So glad you are there to translate! You compliment each other.
Those 'taters' sound Very Good. Don't apologize for your accent or actions. Do it your way, we will keep up!
That's what we call a dusting up here in Wisconsin.
John Swartz in Canada we call that July
@@starks1414 LOL
Clyde Tuttle in Michigan We call it dandelion dust!
The last two houses I bought and lived in first thing on the list was rip dish washer out and put in a cabinet. I wash dishes by hand and can stack a weeks worth in the dish rack. Your getting there but not quite at my level. Lol. Roasts oh yeah. I like sirloin tip then second is rump roast then chuck roast. All good. I like putting down a couple pieces of bread then cover them in roast then pile on the mashed potatoes and drown in gravey. It's like a roast pot pie but upside down. Yum yum.
I find it amazing we all knew what you were talking about but someone always has to find away to put people down. I don’t know if it makes them feel smarter but it feels to like they need to open their heart and let it go
I wish I was one of the perfect people so that I could come up with the right things to say about how much I enjoy watching your videos. There seem to be quite a few out there that think that they are perfect but I would much rather be like you and not even try to be what I am not.
You guy's are so much fun to watch, Thanks for posting😁❤
LB for president!! Or at least ag secretary!!
Meredith and LB, you had me giggling threw your segment. The statements that come from LB are priceless. Loved the ”Gun Powder” got to get me some!!! Your children are so precious. Love you guys❤️❤️🏌️♂️
You are almost perfect! Best farm wife I know!
Why not put a trickle charger on the tractor to keep the battery fully charged all the time. Even without a block heater it might help part of the time and they are pretty cheap. Diesel motors can be a pain. Your hard work and silly sense of humor and Lawrence's hard work and dry sense of humor really are fun to watch.
Got me some of that Musket Powder. Thanks for the discount code. If Lawrence likes it, it has to be good. LOL Since you are a coffee addict, you might like the Espresso Roast from Caracollilo Coffee Mill (CCM) in Tampa Florida. I buy it on eBay in five pound bags. Six bags usually has the lowest per pound shipping.
I remember stories of days past in Montana: the unholy triumvirate: Cattle ranchers, wheat ranchers, and sheep ranchers. Sheep came to the north-central part late in the game following wheat ranching; cattle ranching arguably being first. So cattle men and wheat ranchers would shake a fist at sheep ranchers and yell “goat ropers.” And of course when sheep men and cattlemen saw wheat farmers planting, they would shake a fist and yell “what are you wasting prime grazing land for, you goat roper.” Then, cattlemen were clearly all hat and no cattle, so said the wheat and sheep farmers who would shake a fist and yell, “you bunch of goat ropers”. I think cattlemen were clearly the most offended when called “goat ropers.” In later years it was, mostly, in good fun even if it did start lots of barroom fights. But that pejorative still is a live and well; from your video, I guess it’s nation wide. Now, as far as actual goat ranching, I don’t remember there being herds of goats like herds of cattle and sheep. I may be wrong . . . but I don’t think so. Or, maybe I’m thinking of herds of cats. . .
On a historical note, when sheep ranching came to that part of the west in the late 1800s and early 1900s there were serious concerns given the fact the sheep would graze the native range grasses down to the roots, in most cases killing it. Cattle could not share the same public range lands as sheep and it could take years for the range to recover if it could recover at all. Grazing on leased public lands was very important then as it is today. This lead to misunderstandings and violence and to what could almost be classified as range wars at that time. Ironically, at roughly the same time there were significant advances in animal husbandry and crop / land management theory and technological innovations that allow all three to “peacefully coexist”, as they more or less do today. Remember, the “Wild West” was no where near as wild as Hollywood makes it out to be, but it was a little bit. . .
Oh, and I though I heard / saw in the relevant video that LB sort of - fell - on that rouge sheep. . .
Meredith your consistent, continual, every day, joyous optimisim is such a great gift. You stay strong and generous in your daily tasks and life.
It is so obvious that you know His blessings on all of you on your happy farm. Seeing your smiling and strong son pulling his sister while she laughed on the sled in your recent snowfall was a joy. Blessings to you from the Vineyard.
Lol. Your husband is awesome! You talking to me!!! That’s what you need a shirt out of!!! Lol. Add his picture to that too!
Hi guys,God bless you and family,i'm working for over 40 years to the farm, rice, catle and do san me hay ,and i know is a hard work but i" enjoy.keep up ,love you guys.
Ok Meredith, what is in the GunPowder😎😜😊👩🌾 ,is a hot ,or salty seasoning 🧂, and on the yes stacking thing I have a drain rack set beside my sink bowl and it drains into the sink and dries just like you were doing it but it’s a drain rack and dish rack, all that matters is it works right, good vlog, I love the screen shots I seen and took out of your vlog, nice landscape pics, thank you 😊 your the best Meredith, BigAl California.
I am so glad I found your channel. You are amazing, funny and lovely. I like the way you mess with LB too lol
"lathing" is just called "machining" or "turning". at least in the tool & die trade that's what we call it.
Yeppers turning, and maching
Great video!! Y'all are so country it makes it very easy to relate to the lifestyle :) Some of the other farm channels are so big of a operation it's like watching a video about a company. Kinda makes it hard to sit down and watch what they are into today. Y'all bring us into your home with the cooking and what not it's just relaxing to watch. Thanks so much for sharing.
Yes, you do have skills! My oh my, your family does eat well! Please tell LB I said: 1) “farmers make the best engineers” and 2) “all his on-the-job experience of fixing and making things work far exceeds any degree he may have paid for at any university.” I love your “real” and thank you for sharing it with so many of us who enjoy and love your family. Keep on farmin’!
Lawrence is getting doggone personable😂😂 loved seeing your kids playing out in the field together!! Keep the videos coming!
Behind on my videos, and trying to catch up. Y’all have a beautiful farm. That sun coming up through the snow covered trees was amazing. And I love how LB is getting more into the videos.
same here , no need to dry dishes ,but a drying rack makes it easier ! metal masher best ,plastic not strong enough & Glad laurence got the lathe working, he wll gain confidence with practice . & how is the flooding of winter barley looking ?
Gotta admit that the 28 min ad gave me ample time to read the 150 comments already posted. Sounds like this is gonna be another fun filled family gathering, with snow this time. Yahoo...!! Gotta love it..! I’ll be back later..! 😃
Loved your video, the food looks delicious. You’ve still got a lot of mud there. 👍
and she looks delicious also !
@@robertrogers4357 Please don’t be fresh!
yes , snow is lovely when you dont have to work in it !
Did anyone else look up "goat roper" I've heard it several times but never knew the real meaning, so I looked it up for us that didn't know. Goat Roper: a wannabe rancher or cowboy poser. "Goat ropers have the 4x4 pick-up and the cowboy hat, but no cattle, horses, land or brains." Hahaha A sheep wrangler is indeed better than a goat roper, which L.B. is the farthest thing from.
Bill White
- goat roper is a derogatory term. from what Mrs. B. has shared on camera concerning Lawrence, he in my opinion is the real North Carolina Country Man, a super rare breed and sad to say very few of them left .
Like they say in Texas "All hat and no cattle"
@@SoybeanFarmer3300 Very true hopefully he is able to pass along his ways to his family.
Go team LB
I like to use a two beater electric hand mixer for my mashed taters. Makes them really fluffy. Sounds like Mom likes em the same way. Boy supper looks GOOOOD!
"You talkin to me?"
"Who else is in here?" - Shows the empty back seat. LOL!
I love Musket Powder's website, where it says, "Makes vegetables not suck.." HaHa!
I also see one of the ingredients in the black label Musket Powder is coffee! No wonder you like it so much, Meredith!
I don't know why, but I was killing myself laughing when you stooping down next to the stove so you could be in the camera shot with the mash potatoes!
Apparently Lawrence has been to a goat roping or two that he knows being called a "goat roper" ain't exactly high praise. In Lawrence's defense, he is definitely not a "drug store cowboy" or "all hat and no cattle". Yes Sir, Lawrence is the real deal! Lawrence is so tough, before Chuck Norris goes to sleep at night, he checks under the bed to make sure Lawrence Bernard isn't hiding under there! Lawrence is so tough, the Flu has to get a Lawrence Bernard shot every year!
ROFL!
Bob Johnson
- have you ever heard the words "I can ride, rope, hammer and paint
Do things with my hands that most men can't" after following Mrs. B. here at her channel since late summer of 2017 and watching what she allows us to see about Mr. B. those song words keep popping into my mind. the man Mr. B just takes care of the business of working his Farm/Ranch in a very respectful manner.
Half and half in spuds is better and more flavor, we use it that way to make lefse!
It feels colder because of the wind-effect blowing through the higher humidity; the snowfall increased the moisture content of the air, you nailed it in your description. Born in Minneapolis, MN, I know cold humid air. Thank you for the video; keep them coming.
Added to the long list of Lawrence's skills: Sheep wrangler and lathe operator / machinist (machine) I suspect, Lawrence, that you knew that if you didn't go after that lamb RIGHT THEN - you might still be out there chasing that blankity thing !
My Mother had one of them potatoe mashers like that. I don't know but my sister may still have it. Her and her husband bought the house and everything in it from Daddy before he passed away. I like my mashed potatoes lumpy to with the peeling still on them.
Ask your husband what size the tool holder is on the lathe, I might have some tool bits around here.
We like to see your face as well
Just don’t burn it!!! Lol
You’re the best
Oh my gosh, your home cooked meals look Delicious!!!!!!!
Meredith you allways learn something new everyday.
Snowman 💩, like cow 💩 but colder😂🤣 it's better than mud!!!!
And it's pretty 😁😎
We always told Mom that the dishes were old enough to dry themselves! 😜😂
Bonnie is the only one with indoor privileges or are Clara and Gus always in time out? 😂
That is just a little snow fleury here in Western Canada , we are supposed to get 25 cm tonite.
Meredith loved this video !! your farm looks like a winter wounder land and you are snow white THANKS !!
Ya'll so good , Your cooking part makes hungry every time, Pile them dishes to the ceiling, LOL Safety glasses ! (anyone within 10ft of that lathe )
LB is a Livestock Management Technician.Girl, you make me laugh.
I like your style of cooking. You have a great day. God Bless.
Yes, A+ Dishes Stacker here!
Lotsa other stuff to do while they dry right there on there own!
We use the same as Musket Power when we cook too, it's called "Gun Powder" . it's Good!!
Potato masher is like the one I've got when I first got married 45 years ago and I still have it
I was the only kid in the third grade with a driver's License
Impossible!!!!
The snow looks beautiful, living in Australia I have only seen snow once
You and the "Sheep Wrangler" are blessed. I enjoy your blog. Best Regards, ja Chesapeake, Va.
It’s all good, kids, snow, food, lathes, and papa cracking jokes,
that was one awesome video ..i just love how you keep it real .never change
Love it right after their first snow is so pretty and you're right it is so quiet another great video and I would let my dishes drive to of my wife and let me
I love to get a notification when your video comes out.LOVE YOUR VIDEOS.
Oh, and I forgot: There seems to be a variable-speed AC drive on the 1901 lathe. But I only caught a glimpse of it.
When you were saying coarse kosher salt it reminded me of the Swedish Chef From the Muppets (-:
The Farmer is so awesome. It’s great to hear him pitching in with his thoughts. Turning the socket so it would work for what he needed it to do. Epic!!! Keep those cameras rolling
Great video Meredith
That's the kind of masher I've been using my whole life, my wife uses an electric mixer, I like them made with the masher better.
Those Cows and Bebe are looking at y'all like; You don't really expect us to walk in this mess to eat breakfast, do you? Seriously! Lol! :)
The other day when Lawrence was fixing the tie rod end, I was remembering doing the same exact thing one day on my 4020. He made every move as I do. We do think a lot alike. Keep up the good work.
Love your channel and family values! Just ordered 2 containers of Musket Powder! Hope it's as good as LB says!
LB the Mutton Buster lol. Looks like the kiddos enjoyed the snow for the time you had it. Just a idea that spud masher works great for make scammed hamburger or sause for maidrites or what ever you want to use it for. That lathe is going to come real handy for LB if he needs something or wants to make something. Keep up the great videos. Yummy supper that's forsure
Im spreading the word to get you to 50K subs!!! Love your channel, Lawrence " Luckiest man on earth!!"
First of all I would just like to say what a lovely family you have and second you are the most beautiful gate boss I have ever seen please make more videos 😁😊👋🌝🐂🐃🐃🐂🐃🐂
October 31,2023’. Thank y’all for sharing y’all’s live with us. I know these videos are a wee bit old but I’ve watched for a few years and now I have a way to comment. Thank you Meredith,Lawrence,Wesley and Austin Bernard family for sharing your videos with us. I’m Praying God’s Blessings for y’all 👍👍🙏🙏🇺🇸.
It's nice to see somebody else dries dishes the same way as me! Plus, uses the Kitchen Table for more than Just eating off of! Lol! :) Great Video! As always! :) I also say; "Snow's Pretty, Yeah, Pretty Cold! Lol! :) I'll stick with Florida Heat! :)

I always enjoy Lawrence. His sayings and humor, expertise. Not just that. We enjoy all of y’all. You’ve never had a bad video. They’re all good. Thanks 👍👍👍❤️
Nice vid Meredith!!! The snow was nice!!! How'd y'all git it down there and I don't get it up here in Jersey???? And LOVE your meals!!!💝💝💝
let LB know was watching an auction on Saturday and a 4320 w\duals no loader bought 13,500 ,,,,about the same price as new,,,,not restored but a clean, undented cream puff,,,,do really enjoy ya videos Meredith
Farm so beautiful in snow. Love it when the farmer talks. You get a shirt with his picture on it I'm in!!
"You talk'n ta me? Are you talk'n ta me?" (Insert ROFL emoji here).
That's alright, I was being polite by not correcting you, I knew what ya meant. And besides watching LD work on the "tie rod end" (old school way) with a big axx 🔨 !!!.
You both are a good team. You complement each other....your kids are true farm kids...they have chores....that's good to see.
Wow, that's a nice old lathe....he isn't just a farmer, he's a tech farmer...I don't even know how to run a lathe.
Nothing better than mashed potatoes! I call mine, cardiac arrest mashed potatoes LOL! Butter, sour cream, cheddar cheese, butter milk and a packet of ranch dressing mix! Dang it! I’m starving now! LOL!
That type of potato masher is definitely the best kind , and you are correct leaving the skins on. That's were most the nutrition is. I'm 60 and have used that type of masher for pry 40 of them . I also agree with you on the dishes 😉 . 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸 . American food , by an American . It doesn't get much better 👍 Also is the same masher I started with that I still use and my daughter made me get her one when she moved out and got married
SOUTHERN INDIANA HERE: Your landscape is soo pretty, Elmo is eating breakfast, Olive and Geronimo are nice and dry but still wondering where the h*** they are, and your kids are enjoying the snow and farm life. When the snow is slowly drifting down and it’s so quiet you can almost hear your heart beat I always feel for one brief shining moment all is right with the world.
Hey Meredith! I would like to give you a tip!🤠
Google the Swedish word ”markarmering” which translated in to english is ”soil reinforcement”.👌🏻look it up
It might help you and your husband with the wet conditions of your pastures..
I’m from Canada’s east coast in the province of Newfoundland, I’m 64 married for 42 year’s to a wonderful lady have 2 daughters and 3 granddaughters.!! Just a little about me so you don’t think I’m a total creep..!! Lol
Just ordered the Musket Power (Black) they now have (Red) Not telling the wife until it gets here. I may cook something with it and then tell her. Lathe! Running with flat belt. I have grandpa's drill that runs with a flat belt. Right now it's down for repair. Try adding Garlic to your taters. Yum, Yum! God bless. From Central Indiana
I stack dishes...not well...just sort of dump them. My stacks are usually of dirty dishes. I’ve been hacking away at a like today. Seriously though, my plastics cabinet is such a mess that I just quickly open it, toss and close before lids with no matching bowl falls out. Or bowls with no matching lids..... yeah, it’s bad....
But they’re clean so ✅
Meredith - it wouldn't matter how you said it or pronounced it - some viewers just have to be the grammar police. I understand every word you say and what you mean. Plus, I love your sweet accent. I'm from Michigan and people from California have told me that I talk funny. I don't think so - but then again, what do I care. Regional dialects aren't a social faux pas!
Meredith, Sheep Wrangler....you say? It's getting chilly again here.....which means it's coming your way. Your roast, and mashed taters are calling my name😊 I make mashed taters just like you do. Sometimes when there's company I'll boil the taters in chicken broth. Tonight I'm making baked oatmeal with fruit for dinner. We would of had chicken, it's still frozen, and I just don't feel like making a big meal.
Here in MS if we got that much snow we'd shut everything down.
Thanks Meredith, LB and kids! I stack my dishes with a shovel but your kitchen and dining area are much neater/organized than mine, and I let Mother Nature do the drying too. Try mashed cauliflower the same way that you do potatoes, it's good too, everything is better with cream cheese and BUTTER! Cool old GMC, would look great in some of your photos.
Hello from Florida Meredith! My name is Kevin Love watching your Channel and seeing everything that you go through. Wishing you all the very best for your Family. We need more of you in this world. Love that BONNIE. C-ya🙂
