3:00 that relay threw me a code 12. Googled it and came up crank shaft sensor. Not sure why it came to me but I looked at that relay full of corrosion. Took it apart dielectric spray and grease cleaned it up and good to go. Might change it this summer but might just leave it. Been problem free since
Just a quick question, do you put the same engine oil in the chain case as well, I couldn't tell from the video, also I have another video suggestion, I'm kinda new to snowmobiles maybe in the future you guys could show what all needs checked out for the season, or any parts you replace every season, like anything to look out for in the track or wheels, and preadjustments etc that would be highly informative.
Raynen Hunsaker thanks for the suggestion! We will definitely do a video highlighting everything to look at before the season starts! And no it is a different oil, it’s specific for a chain case. We used a generic one but this link is Yamaha’s chain case oil. Yamalube Snowmobile Chain Case Lube 8.5Oz www.amazon.com/dp/B008KYTKOU/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_f3bnEbGHVKJ1M
Unfortunately the only free ones that I’ve been able to find are owners manuals, this is a website where you can purchase a service manual, and you can pick your specific machine. www.emanualonline.com/powersports/snowmobiles/yamaha/fx-nytro-models/fx-nytro-mtx.htm
Dear Caswell, great videos!!! New 2009 Nytro XTX owner. Do you have any leads on the flexible braid exhaust fix kit. Some one must make I am guessing 1.375" ID, 1.5" OD braided exhaust coupler, this will eliminate the doughnuts and Summit Racing has the 1.5" don't know if OD or ID for $14.99 ea. OEM Yamaha parts are $401.88 and again they say 4-6 hours labor. Watched the PowerMods install of the generic flex couplers for the Nytro, just looking for a lead to find them.
Lyle Rogalla I know powermodz had them on their website but I just checked and they no longer do, I’m not sure where else you can find them unfortunately! If I do find them I’ll let you know.

Hey guys. So I just got a 2008 nytro. On the chain case dipstick. Where should the oil be. There is rev/std marking on it. ? No min or max.
If you have reverse, then just add enough to the top line…it doesn’t call for very much.
@@GnarlyChicken thank you for the info. I watched liked and subscribe to your channel. I seen the chain case video you did. Thanks again.
@@joerutkowsky3261 thanks man. Appreciate ur Sub!! And happy that my vid could help you, and any questions I answered.
how hard would it be to do without lifting the front up
You could do it, but it would make it more difficult. Best recommendation would be to put the skis on 2x6’s to get it higher.
Thanks man this helped extremely
Awesome! Glad it was helpful! I have a track replacement video for the Nytro coming out on Monday!
i didnt even put in a whole 16 oz of chaincase oil and it was over flowing ??
Is the shield a direct fit??
Kinda it bolts in 2 places, I e had it on the sled for 2 seasons now and hasn’t had a single issue
@@CaswellCustoms gotcha thank you.
Did you have starting issues after you replaced the relay?
Tyler Mullaly no I replaced it back in November and I haven’t had a single issue, and I’ve ridden it almost every weekend since Christmas
If you still have the tall windshield, let me know if you would like to sell it.
How heavy are they thinking about getting one
The spec sheets say they weigh 540lbs definitely a heavy machine because they’re 4strokes!
250ml in chaincase and 3,3liter in engine?
Filip Hjelm that is correct.
good video but you dudes forgot to clean the oil strainer
