Dir en Grey reminds me so much of the GazettE. I know that DEG is an older band, they are huge senpais to tG and people say you should never compare an older band to a younger band, but I'll do it anyways (please no hate, I'm simply citing similarities). DEG's vocalist is a short man (5'3) filled with negativity, nervousness, self-consciousness and painful life experiences. tG's vocalist is also a short man (5'4) filled with negativity, nervousness, self-consciousness and painful life experiences. Both vocalists have tattoo sleeves on both arms and (don't get mad) but I think that their singing style and voices are quite similar. DEG's Kaoru and tG's Uruha are both guitarists whom are very quiet. DEG's Die and tG's Aoi are both guitarists that look similar (their parents have some serious explaining to do). I can't think of any way to compare the bassists. DEG's Shinya and tG's Kai are both drummers that are very "girly looking". This song especially reminds me of the GazettE's No.666 and Mad Marble Hell Vision because of the growling from 1:45-1:50 and Filth in the Beauty because of the extra beat from 0:44-0:52 which sounds like the part where they're doing the excessive head banging in the PV.
I just love this song! It's so amazing! I think this, Kasumi, Jealous, Glass skin and Ain't afraid to die are my favorites from this band... Also, the final is really good!
Rammstein has always been my favourite band, but then I discovered Dir En Grey and now they share the top. I also have to say that Dir En grey is somewhat better live, if you watch the Obscure live :3 BUT RAMMSTEIN'S STILL PURE AWESOMNESS!
For the ones that didn't knew, this is a song made against abortion, this isn't the first song Kyo wrote against abortion, but this is definitely one of their most trademark songs because of the music video, in the first album Gauze, Mazohsyt of Decadence is also an anti-abortion song, but Obscure got more attention, look at the english translated lyrics and it will be more clear, they have protested abortion so many times during their career and probably will still be making anti-abortion songs, after reading the lyrics translated and uncensored the original uncensored music video will make more sense, even though it's very extreme and gory, there's an actual meaning behind it, Kyo writes all of the songs with a meaning, even though it's sometimes a little hidden behind lyrics.
The disturbing thing about Rammstein's music is the message in the songs. For example, the story behind Mein Teil or Klavier or Tier. Yes, at face value, Dir En Grey is much more disturbing, but when you delve into the deeper meanings, Rammstein really never fail at making you shudder.
I really like songs that are inspired by someone's unwavering opinion about something, it just makes the song so powerful. And I don't have to agree with it (and I don't personally with this song but unlike some people I'll spare you as to why) I just have to appreciate it, because music like everything else, is art. I just wish some people could understand this and not miss out on a great song because of their principles and standards.
Maybe I'm just really creepy, or I just am not easily freaked out, but I personally love the video for this.. just like I love all of their videos. Not saying it isn't strange though, cause it definitely is. I suppose I love the strange and twisted more then most people though. Just my opinion of course.
@Caluss74IsRaikou haha no problem , i actually alrady looked at those songs , and now i can say i've been a dir en grey fan for a full year now :) still fist pumpin to there music and now im hoping to go see them live one day , my now absolute favorite band ;) thank you for your help [:
A year since you wrote that, so I recommend you to watch their new video to Mein Herz Brennt ;) But seriously, Rammstein and Dir En Grey are somewhat related. Love them both equally, togheter with Melt-Banana
Did u guys see the music video to this ? Its so creepy ! But its so effin awsome that I can't sop watching it , its like , man idk how to even describe . one word . AWSOME . just love it love it . lol im new to this band D : oh noes shes a noob D : chea lol so can anyone else tell me some other awsome songs by them ? Thank you , and also to the person who post this vid : D
I did, too. I love the music, but the vid was freaking me out. It's something I would have to watch when I'm not in a public setting. People were giving me weird looks....
@UberRawrMon "dir en grey are japanese" i think thats about as specific as you can get. well i mean...i'm pretty sure they're not dubstep, but you get the point
Even though both bands have different genres of metal these guys kinda remind me of rammstein at times. They like to have disturbing topics in their songs and disturbing music videos
This is not even the music video and I still get a really unerving feeling. Mainly at the beginning when he sings "tsurushita kuzuki". The way he sings it creeps the fuck out of me. I have to look behind me every 5 seconds. Hello...?
I like Metric (especially Gold Gun Girls) but why are you comparing this to Dir en Grey? They do not sound the same and I just can't see how the ending could be similar. Could you explain?
So good to see the lyrics are transcripted into Latin alphabet... ontherwise, I wouldn't be able to sing a shit word. DAMN, I NEED TO LEARN JAPANESE FOR MY LIFE'S SAKE!!! 😅😅😅😂😂😂
@wewilleaty0u No because the video was not poop, crap or crud. Those words do not explain the awesomeness and great vision of the song/video. Neither does "sh!t (if that makes you feel better) but it was the only word I could think of at the time
I'm here because I wanted to post the song in one of those 'songs you are listening to now' threads, but the actual video would probably get me banned if I posted it.
Song is about abortion, and the music (and video) coincide with the sickening act of abortion itself. I see comments below judging this band and I shake my head in shame. How can you call yourself a metal head when you don't dig down into the cathartic nature of the tone, the content, and the heart of those who wrote the song? If you don't understand this basic principle then you shouldn't be listening to metal OR Diru.
This song is against abortion! Watch the real music video if you can stomach it! A lot of people can't! I've been in love with these guys for over 15 years!
wow, 1 justin beiber fan finally grew some balls to speak up and say they disliked DIR EN GREY... or they had an eargasm so hard they missed the like button -_-... just sayin...
Kyo looks so badass.
They make the human centipede 2 look like an episode of the motherfucking teletubbies.
Yay now i can watch a lyric video instead of watching that video.... *-*
Hildanan XD now I know what their saying in jAPANESE BUT NOT ENGLISH SMH
They kinda go together
Visuals are the best part.

my dude my bro my man I thought these were gonna be in English I was bamboozled

I just love this song! It's so amazing! I think this, Kasumi, Jealous, Glass skin and Ain't afraid to die are my favorites from this band... Also, the final is really good!

Not Pro-Life.... You're Pro-birth.
I wonder if his stance on it has anything to do with Japan's extremely low birth rate.
Dont agree with the message of this song but still love it
Nightmare Fanatic No. Supposedly his ex aborted his child.
@@Spaxx1001 birth is the only way there is human life you fucking dump of a person

Kyo is Badass all the haters of Dir en grey have no idea and definitely no taste
bring back visual kei 2019!! Dir en Grey forever 🖤
love it holds that gothic sound i love
+chris mann _Personally, I find this much heavier than any Goth band I've ever heard. However I can totally see where you get the gothic feel from._
I got into Dir en Grey through someone really important to me... there's no way I couldn't like this.
I really like songs that are inspired by someone's unwavering opinion about something, it just makes the song so powerful. Dir en grey
The original was insanely fucked up, but that's why we love Dir En Grey! NO band can reach them in their music or twistedness.
.
you're not creepy, I love this video too~~
Ah reminds me of my teen years. Such a great band
I honestly wish I can understand the overall message in this song, I thought the music video was just flat out awesome!!
the video is tooo awesome no question about it!! i love this band now!!
the video for this the most scaryies music vid ever :'3
Maybe I'm just really creepy, or I just am not easily freaked out, but I personally love the video for this.. just like I love all of their videos. Not saying it isn't strange though, cause it definitely is. I suppose I love the strange and twisted more then most people though. Just my opinion of course.
His Voice... OMG his Voice... I love it
Lmao me and my friends would get stoned as shit and listen to this and die laughing haha
I think that Dir En Grey is a combination between 'shockrock' and death metal.
Listening to this while playing Rune Factory.
Farming has never been more epic...
Why am I coming back to this lmao 🤣
I love this song.
1:46 Donald Duck
Yeah, that's obscure.
Flannel Beard its because some people don't understand japanese and don't want to bother to figure out the meaning of the lyrics

@UberRawrMon "dir en grey are japanese" i think thats about as specific as you can get. well i mean...i'm pretty sure they're not dubstep, but you get the point
Is This a Japanese version of Marilyn Manson, with metal ?
Manson is a Poser compared to Kyo.
Totally. I Don't like him anyway. Kyo \m/___\m/
Haris Rehan smdh
Filip Firulovic oh the irony
Haris Rehan You know Manson is metal right?
They're awesome
good job
Ahhhhhhh! ~♥ So lucky XD I wish I was you !
Sounds like a mix of Marylin Manson and some instrumentals of Cannibal Corpse
seriously good luck to anyone trying to sing this @w@
i cant find this song in itunes.........i only find the song in live concert and dont like it/. :( I want it!!
Merciless Cult was a really good one that he used it in. As is Agitated Screams of Maggots.

Overall, it mocks abortion.
obscure darkly
so fuckin' epic!
My english teacher showed me this band years ago, she was cool
This version is better than 2011's version.
@xXHiddenXxXHikariXx
no. just cuz they scream doesnt mean its screamo.
btw this is a VK band
@7Zoaxia7 i wouldn't really consider them visual kei anymore tbh
Even though both bands have different genres of metal these guys kinda remind me of rammstein at times. They like to have disturbing topics in their songs and disturbing music videos
@Heartlesswarrior13 It is from Vulgar
lov it XD
Any other songs where he uses this hidden talent of harsh vocals (00:35) again? Maybe for more than a few words?
@Heartlesswarrior13 Itunes has it...Its just live and doesnt sound as good...

Damn they must take ages on their hair, when my hair gets a little too long I can't spike it up for hell nor heaven! What do they use O.o

Who is the blond guy? *-*
I think his name is Kyo, I believe he's the singer. Don't take my word for it, I'm new to this band. But just a guess.

@conversebrat290 whats wrong with being gay?
Shall I translate?
this song is truly amazing, it transcends all language's...too bad lesbian fangirls ruin it so that it never gets on the radio

+Flannel Beard _Agreed._
Flannel Beard 👌👍
Ruki He thinks abortion is a sickening act. What an insensitive clueless idiot.
Felix Sturm when it's preformed outside of a professional establishment to do it in, yeah I'd say it's pretty fucking gruesome.
top
@UberRawrMon i think dir en grey defy classification
Okay sure lol. Let's be friends.
I hope there's an English translation on it.I can't fully comprehend it
This song is against abortion! Watch the real music video if you can stomach it! A lot of people can't! I've been in love with these guys for over 15 years!
The music video is wut.
But I love this song!
wow, 1 justin beiber fan finally grew some balls to speak up and say they disliked DIR EN GREY... or they had an eargasm so hard they missed the like button -_-... just sayin...
