By the way, the US was not the first to be targeted by organized Russian hacking. Look for Estonia, 2007.

P.S. By the way, Hillary was lying too, with those emails and stuff, so I'm not taking her side by any means. Its deceiving. Russia's landmass is massive but it's mostly inhospitable terrain. The bulk of Russia's population lives in the European side. The size of the country is Russia's Achilles Heel and always has been. It's why she has been invaded on average, once every 35 years. There's just too many gaps/hoke points to defend with nothing but flat terrain in the West making it easy to invade.

Yes the expansion eastwards violated treatys from the 90ties, but the expansion is none the less a DEFENSIVE treaty which russia answers with war? (which also violated treaties with both ukr and georgia, so stop complaining treaties are broken and everyone does so).
and were is your evidence for "CIA activities" against Ukrainian goverment? Maybe just Maybe Russia the country that threatens gas shortages wasnt so popular in ukraine anymore...
and your mind play about russia winning the cold war. yes that would be exactly what happend. and if the people in westeurope and canada wanted communism that would be their right and no one should blame them, just because the us sphere of influence would have gotten smaller. but since there were many uprisings in the warsaw pact nations, i think there would be a massive revolt against the soviet on west europe, but surprisingly there is non in the former warsaw pact states... could it be that live is now better there than before? could it be that people in the baltics have a higher standart of living than in russia? Maybe the people just like coca cola and mercedes, more than lada and soljanka. Maybe being part of the wealthy west seems more lucrative to them then sticking with reactionary russian, living (mentally) in former times of superpower status and complaining about the present day. and maybe, just maybe russia has isolated its self and is noow playing the victim card.

What Russian territory has "the West" invaded in the last two decades? What Russian territory has "the West" militarily occupied in the last two decades? What Russian territory has "the West" annexed in the last two decades? You got nothing. The Obama administration famously tried to "reset" relations with Russia, which the U.S. had been ignoring since the collapse of the USSR, and Putin responded by stealing Crimea and is now trying to take over the rest of Ukraine. "The West" has done absolutely FUCKING NOTHING to Russia, which invades and threatens its neighbors while engaging in propaganda campaigns calling "the West" the source of all evil in the world.
"there is no need for an expansion of NATO now that the cold war is over but some guys in NATO obviously want the cold war...Thats why they provocate russia."
The phrase "NATO expansion", another invention of the Russian propaganda machine, is absolute bullshit. If you wanted to be honest, you would use the phrase, "Once the countries enslaved by Russia were able to break free they obviously sought protection to prevent Russia from doing it again." No need? How are you going to convince the Ukrainians? Or anybody else, given your history and what you are currently doing? Your troops are occupying or creating bullshit civil wars in a handful of neighboring countries. Because it's NATO that's causing all the problems right? No one's provoking Russia, everyone just wants Russia to stop invading and taking over its neighbors.

Russia has asked three times to join NATO. The first time was during the Yeltsin period, when Russia was most pro-Western, but all three times the U.S. sternly refused. Why can all other Eastern European countries join NATO but not Russia? Simply, after the collapse of the Soviet Union, the United States felt unprecedentedly powerful and had to find an imaginary enemy to maintain its dependence on the United States in Europe and elsewhere. A peaceful world without a powerful enemy is not good for the United States, at least not for the U.S. military-industrial complex and the plutocrats behind it who control both parties in the United States.
Sitting next to such a powerful nuclear power, Ukraine should have been a neutral/buffer state like Singapore
Singapore has no natural resources, but as a neutral country, it knows how to navigate between powers and has become one of the richest countries in the world. Ukraine, on the other hand, after independence, either fell to Russia or became completely pro-Western, and even became a base for Western money laundering, and eventually the whole country was torn apart between powers.
The problem of Ukraine is not a question of sovereignty and freedom, it is a question of survival of the world. Accept the reality that Russia is not an ordinary country, it is the country with the most nuclear weapons in the world. I don't think anyone in the world wants to go through a nuclear war, but the truth is that what people in the world are doing is pushing for a nuclear war to come.

Doesn't excuse Russias actions. Yes, I believe Russia is pushing the world toward using nukes. Not because they're backed into a corner but because now the world is questioning how effective russia's nuclear arsenal is. FYI, the soviet union collapsed. You might not like it but it did. It's ideas and ways of doing things we're proven inferior. Russia can be a great country but not by reaching back to the soviet days

I agree that Russia can be a great country if it went with the western way, but it also requires the Western world to work to integrate Russia into the mainstream world, rather than shifting the imaginary enemy from the Soviet Union to Russia after the collapse of the Soviet Union in the 1990s and just continually excluding it. as I said, Russia has asked three times to join NATO. the first time was during the Yeltsin period, when Russia was most pro-Western, but all three times the U.S. sternly refused.
Now, no matter how much you disagree with what Russia is doing and how much you disagree with Putin's ideas, the fact is that Russia is the country with the most nuclear weapons. It doesn't matter to mankind if it's an excuse for Russia to get out of the way, and it doesn't matter how backward you think Russia is in regressing to the Soviet era. In the end, the most important thing is how to avoid a nuclear war, but this is the most important thing that the vast majority of people who support Ukraine do not mention.
The two sides in this war are foolishly working together to lead humanity into a desperate situation without the world knowing it.

Russia wanted special treatment to join NATO, they didn t want just to simply wait like the other countries which waited a few years for their request to be approved, they wanted to join instantly, which I think it was a thought move because they knew they couldn t do that so they used that as an excuse to say "hey we tried to join nato but they didnt approve us"

    Let's consider NATO members:
    - USA fought in Vietnam (one of many unnecessary wars)
    - Germany started WW2
    - Austria was pioneer in WW1
    - Great Britain conquered half of the world during cross ocean expansion (destroying ancient cultures)
    - My people were under Ottoman (Turkey) empire for 500 years
    On the other hand:
    - Russia, India, and China have never had slaves
    - They expanded their territory but not by killing natives
To conclude, Russia has had their bad moves, but NATO members probably have had much more. Russians are mainly Slavic people and through the history, we suffered a lot. We learned that we have to protect our territory and our people by our forces. China is doing the same thing.

I guess he meant the Russian influence sphere from USSR times, which collapsed with the Yeltsin-Putin switch around 1999. (Countries that were more aligned with Russia prior to that were now starting to get influenced heavily by the west so that they realigned themselves.)
It essentially marks the finish of the transition from USSR to modern Russia which happened from 1989 until Putins first term as prime minister.
However, when it comes to the influence sphere (in particular Belarus, Ukraine and Kazakhstan) he was talking crap.

_The Baltic countries were only part of the soviet union because they were conquered._
Uneducated imbecile, all territories of modern Baltic stats were part of Russian Empire since 1721:
after Sweden has started lost a war declared against Russia, Russian emperor Peter 1 has decided not to invade the territory of Sweden, for to save face and the dignity of Sweden Queen, and then in 1721, Peter has signed a Nishtadt' peace treaty with Sweden weakened by the war, under which peace treaty countries declare the peaceful coexistence with each other, and Sweden is obliged to sell to Russia its southern territory (modern the Baltic states).
      en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Treaty_of_Nystad
In Nystad, King Frederick I of Sweden formally recognized the transfer of Estonia, Livonia, Ingria, and Southeast Finland (Kexholmslän and part of Karelia) to Russia in exchange for two million silver thaler, while Russia returned the bulk of Finland to Swedish rule.
Peter has paid 2 millions silver efimcs to swedes (efimcs or thalers - silver coins is very high grade, which were minted in Berlin, Leipzig, Braunschweig), each of which weighed 28 grams. 2.000.000 efimcs - that is about 56 tons of silver.
At that time it was the annual budget of all Swedish Empire, half of Russia's budget or the cost of 56 lyncors - battleships, the most powerful warships of those times. If you take the warships as the standard, then in terms of the day today it is - 300 billions dollars.

Sorry, NATO (1949) was established before the Warsaw Pact (1955). In this picture, it seems that there was the Warsaw Pact, and then NATO - NATO was forced to form. . . In fact, the Soviet Union once asked to join NATO and was rejected. So NATO was meant to be aimed at the communist state that sacrificed 25 million people to defeat Germany in World War II-and a former ally.

As an American I appreciate people commenting on this thread, using your brains and not emotions. What’s going on today is terrible, but it’s just how it’s been for centuries. All I hear about is Putin is Hitler, reckless, a murderer, his people want to overthrow him, etc. While I’m not a Putin fan, I can respect his decisions, don’t think he’s crazy or just ‘wants his name in the history books’ as so many of my friends and family keep saying.

That is a major mistake actually. It would have been be little if his tongue would have slipped by saying 1999 instead of 1990-1991 and we would all know what he meant. However even his slides state 1999. Could this guy be so stupid to make the same mistake in both his slides and his speech without even noticing? Is he completely unaware of such a recent history he claims to be expert in? Or is he trying to deceive the public on purpose?

Acts 17:26 says GOD lets each nation and ruler rise until He decided it is time the ruler and country must be humbled.
"26 From one man he made all the nations, that they should inhabit the whole earth; and he marked out their appointed times in history and the boundaries of their lands."
This is the real reason why nations join into Leagues or Blocs that then crumble and fall apart.

I grew up in the "Cold War", my father was a pilot in the US Army... I was really keeping myself update in knowledge of Russian aviation since I was in Jr. high school... By the time I was a Jr. IN high school, I was excited with USSR's ability of "Pulse Doppler" radar systems for their SU-27 "Flankers", MiG-29 "Fulcrums", & MiG-31 "Foxhounds"... They lacked this for some time & didn't know how they achieved this (espionage?). Of course Not knowing of our F-117 "Nighthawks" to have 1st strike capability through "Stealth", I was wondering what next... This makes me realize that we have technology highly advance & remaining secret not only to keep USA on top of the ball, but to also keep the American economy conditions good... We might even now have partial (or total) antigravity capability (TR-3b "Flying Triangle").... It's not being shown due to the collapse of the economy where the government gets a lot of tax revenue... If shown, this would cause the automotive industry & associates the feel a squeeze... I'm looking forward to the next advances in the US military... F-22 "Raptor" & F-35 "Lightning II" where Excellent... But it's hard to believe their age now (entered service in 2005) & the increasing speed of advancement in technologies....

The project in Romania was half way done before Iran actually came to terms about the nuclear program.
You forgot to mention also that Iranian nuclear program was not completely removed just delayed for several years, so at some point they will eventually resume. I say this just so we have all facts, doesnt matter if some obviously consider this irelevant because it would not suit their interests.. anyway lets put all facts out there.

    • @zOgOs48
      @zOgOs48 8 років тому +1

Adrian A those are half facts. Treaty in Washington was for enegry purposes not weapons. If Iran does build nuclear weapons it will be a violation of the treaty.

    • @L2Xenta
      @L2Xenta 8 років тому

Well I did read somewhere they may be able to resume nuclear weapons project after some of restrictions go away, 10 - 15 years. But hey I didnt see the documents myself so .. whatever. Dont know what Iran will do in future I do know however the balistic defense system was half way built by the time Iran made this deal.

  • @awesomeavenger2810

Yeah, but you haven't addressed the real problem. Which is Russian imperialism. Because if Putin, or Russians, believe that independent sovereign democratic states on its borders are a danger to Russia, then clearly the only answer to that would be for those states to be non-independent satellite states under the control of Moscow. Which would be against the interest of Russia's neighbours. So the problem is not that Russia feels 'surrounded', its that kremlin foreign policy is, and has always been, a danger to the existence of neighbouring states. So until Russian policy changes, Russia cannot have normal relations with its neighbours.
