    Out of the literally 100s of videos, research and traps that I’ve done and watched, your video has given me so much hope,to the point where I have tears running down my face. I know I sound crazy, and maybe I am,but still I have a feeling your video is gonna change my life of terror I face every night and hopefully not need anymore rat experiments and save lots of money. I hate how it consumes my life. They are only outside. Two of my neighbors have ivy that grows along our shared fence where the rats live. Any way,I happen to have dry ice already so I can’t wait to try it. Thank u. You are an angel and i have a really good feeling. Thanx again.

      An equal amt.mof baking soda and peanut butter was found in a study to work best. Not poisonous to other animals as far as I know. I’ve not died it yet, I have lots of different bait.

    My husband and I just moved to Texas... And we realized there are RATS in our yard. I learned another way to kill rats is baking soda mixed with flour, and also plaster of Paris mixed with flour.

      Mix the powders and place it outside, then place a second container nearby with water so as soon as they drink it the powders start setting inside them

      A UA-camr did a thorough study of which homemade mix works. The one you mention DID NOT WORK for him. What he said is the only one that worked was equal amts. of baking soda and peanut butter. FYI.

    Hi that’s great! I’m on the ocean and we recently went to war with rats . The houses are all packed in and they run the foundations and the git under our deck. Big Norway rats. I don’t mind poison but it doesn’t work anyway! Now I’m trapping and I was surprised you didn’t have any bucket traps to drown them. I’m building up to that. Also you are right about the boxes they won’t go in anything. They will take the baits from snap traps but we built boxes from another UA-cam channel that’s supposed to get them in position. Open on one end. Bucket traps with walk the plank is next! I LOVE your gun don’t apologize to the snowflakes . Let them live with rats. If they get in the house, you have a real serious problem! Good luck great video.

      @backyardcolumbus  Рік тому

      Thank you! LOL - snowflakes! I tried the plank with no luck, but maybe you will. We made one and bought one. Rats can tread water for 3 hours, which is a problem......

    Rats are known to move poison pellets (food) around, so they don't always eat it where they find it, and could leave leftovers in other areas accessible to other animals, spread the poison around.

      You can easily super glue the pellet bag in the hard sturdy bait box. I use pellets in my garage and attic, and the critters don’t take the bag anywhere.

    I've lived in this home for 27yrs and saw my first rat this morning. It scampered from our little garden/water feature to underneath our new shed. It's a big as a squirrel. Thanks for the ideas. I need to nip this in the bud before I have 15k.

      How did it go? The same exact thing happened to me, I saw it and knew immediately that it was a rat.
      And when she mentioned the road project I was like "noo way they just re-paved the whole road next to my house".
      I need to deal with this asap because I have only seen 1 but I'm not sure how many there could be. They paved the road a few weeks ago.

      @@juice6199 between me and my dog, we’ve killed 4 I think over the year. I use a large plastic deck storage box 6’x3’ with opening top and doors to store my trash until I can get to the transfer station. It’s on the side of the house. That was the food source. Now that has been remedied, it’s been awhile since I’ve seen one. Remove the food source and they may move on.

    I am frustrated with my rats messing with my chicken coop, I’ve killed 15 and keep thinking I’ve got them all, but, nope…I’ve raised more rats than chickens! but LOVED your video and your attitude. I’m from Ohio, but now I’m TN.
    By the way, I gave up on my plastic snap traps…it was effective but after a week that black one you used broke at the hinge and snapped on my finger. The hinge is cheap. Maybe I will try again.
    Also, rats wi t come out in light but, I don’t think they can see red light … so if your happy hunting, try setting up a red light

    Oh wow, great video. How is it going now? I really sympathise. So frustrating. I have seen a trap developed in New Zealand, good nature smart trap, that uses CO2 to drive a bolt to the head of the rat as it reaches for the bait. They are expensive but it might be worth checking their website. We have been thinking about getting one. We have used snap traps but they only seem to catch young inexperienced rats (still good). I get what you are saying about wanting a quick death for them as they are vertebrates like us and feel pain just like us. I like the idea of reproductive control or gassing whole burrows. I hope your city helps with a solution for you.

      Hello! So, I haven't seen the actual rats lately, but the holes would indicate that they aren't any less present. You're absolutely right about the inexperienced ones; those are the ones we definitely catch the most of. I'll check out that NZ company; thanks for the info!
