The song "Small Victories" keep me sane in 2018 when I was having serious financial problems and facing potential eviction and other issues. Thank you The Lemon Twigs for this song.
Just how much of this will you all allow To go on? What will it take for you to realize you're wrong? Oh, so wrong He fought with him, who fought with her Who denied the knowledge of what those altercations were All the lies and the sighs This was not so reassuring But all is well and all is merry Even when the times are scary Every generation is the same Resulting in this fear illusion Is a void that breeds confusion Leading to a population tame I understand demand And know there're no guarantees But we've been built a world that's full of small victories I've been waiting for a light to shine my way Every day No one understands a word of what I say "Go away" "I rule the sun and all the stars" Say the sons and daughters whose parents bought them getaway cars To ignore inner war that is building up inside them From the mountains to the prairies Everything is looking scary But the lot around me feel no pain They live their days in mass delusion While I coddle my seclusion Knowing that they're all laughing at Shane I understand demand And know there're no guarantees But we've been built a land that's full of small victories
These guys are brilliant!!!!! Rock is dead my ass, the Lemon Twigs, Greta Van Fleet, the Struts, younger guys who grew up listening to the classics of the 60s and 70s...
The transitions in this song are really what makes it for me, as well as the very deft skill that handles the shifts so well. I’m really glad my favorite weird morning show: Wake & Bake with Clay Pigeon on WFMU.org and 91.1 here in North Jersey has been giving this the rotation. Keep it rolling! So many albums so fast. Best yet too!
Raffy Rillo 16 songs! Can't wait, should be really good. They are so talented and original, they use their influences in just the right way it's amazing how extravagant their sound is already for being 20 years old
So rare to discover new music at my age! I love these guys! So many great songs, melodies, and catchy lyrics! heard them on NPR and started digging in-Saw them live and am a true fan of these guys from Hicksville!
This song got me through a lot at the end of 2018, especially the first and second verse. A lot of changes in my life. Now listening back, it's really bittersweet because I associate it with all those negative emotions I had to push through, but it's still truly a beautiful song from real talent.
They've been a cut above for years technically. Really happy to see that they're moving in a direction that will probably keep my ears happy for years. Just so long as they don't fall into the mannequin soul of "Paul-Simon-dispossessed-genius." Hard earned, well rounded, art. Signed: ManTalkin'Shit. edit: it's probably better just to say that you like something, and leave the sketchy details to someone who's trying to heal their own childhood. Ah well =)
Flying three songs on to one runway.....all with the help of that downward minor spiral.....and everyone walked away smiling. Been twirling around my head....and 'What's The Frequency Kenneth?' gets those brain cells in memory mode. Heard them on Jools Holland - one song. Going to hear them at The Round House, London inspired directly by this playout....The Doors played the Roundhouse.....when you hear it, you hear it.
Why does everyone always have to reference other artists? It’s tiresome. Just enjoy what it is. Every musician gets influenced my many other musicians, no need to mention what it reminds you of. Jeez. These guys are great.
Well I tend to agree, but as a teen, I learn the existence of so many bands this way, so it may be good for people to know where this music comes from.
Especially when they remind me of so many, I feel what you’re saying, just love them for who they are and their music for what it is, they’re actually quite unique, especially for this day and age ⭐️
Why is it tiresome to hear people talk about influences they hear in this music? Who cares if people reference other artists? What do you care? People like to make conversation and it's fun to talk about influences we hear in this music. Why in the world would that bother you? Just don't worry about it and enjoy the music and let us music fans be excited to dig deeper into the music and discuss it. Lol, "It's tiresome". You sound like a ball of joy to be around.
@@FrontmanVideo I don't know why, it just is to me, at least 2 years ago it was :-) I care. Not sure why, maybe it's just too much for my senses. Conversation is good. I don't know why it bothers me. Maybe it's the sheer amount of it. I do not worry about it, but I wanted to mention it. I do love their music. So let's dig deeper into the music, great. Seems though at least 21 others agree with me. Yes, I am a ball of joy to be around :-)

Astonishing that these chaps are still only 19 and 21! The biggest breath of fresh air to come along in Years.
I'm 19 and I wish I could be half as brilliant
Agreed.
I love waking up to the smell of fresh Lemon Twigs in the morning. Keep it up, lads
Noah Guth I'm taking a shit right now, so I cannot feel this like a smell of fresh air at this moment
And the creative genius continues, ensuring Small Victories for the Twigs.
Anyone else smell fresh coffee brewing right now?
@@movgto3392 😂😂😂
Beats the smell of napalm in the morning.
Their basslines are always so good
This song is Pure Genius!!...I cannot stop talking about the Twigs...
Just how much of this will you all allow
To go on?
What will it take for you to realize you're wrong?
Oh, so wrong
He fought with him, who fought with her
Who denied the knowledge of what those altercations were
All the lies and the sighs
This was not so reassuring
But all is well and all is merry
Even when the times are scary
Every generation is the same
Resulting in this fear illusion
Is a void that breeds confusion
Leading to a population tame
I understand demand
And know there're no guarantees
But we've been built a world that's full of small victories
I've been waiting for a light to shine my way
Every day
No one understands a word of what I say
"Go away"
"I rule the sun and all the stars"
Say the sons and daughters whose parents bought them getaway cars
To ignore inner war that is building up inside them
From the mountains to the prairies
Everything is looking scary
But the lot around me feel no pain
They live their days in mass delusion
While I coddle my seclusion
Knowing that they're all laughing at Shane
I understand demand
And know there're no guarantees
But we've been built a land that's full of small victories
Hey twigs, I liked the lyrics :)
