I rly feel like he didn’t know how it felt to trust his protection until they showed him the game 1 tape against the Vikings like “look dude.. you had time and kept panicking” since then he’s had a pretty solid control of the pocket, the line has done wonders for his confidence. They are top half of the league this yr when they’ve been 30th or worse his whole first 5 yrs.
Literally bottom 3 for the past 5 seasons and our WR had been bottom 3 in drops as well the past 4 seasons. No other QB had to play under those conditions. The fact DJ was able to do anything before is impressive.
So true, he played so scared Week 1. Better and better since then.

What is elevating his game is that now he has an offensive line. Prior to this our line was atrocious. Now he has a line, better weapons. The first 4 weeks of the NFL is more like preseason games. It's when they truly get the rust off, and build better timing. Things will improve and the Giants will be better team this year.
Giant's are #1 in the league in dropped balls, but all the blame goes to Daniel Jones? Not to mentioned fumblitis Singletary and Eric Gray always putting DJ behind the 8 ball. Take half of those drops and fumbles back, and DJ is one of the best QB's in the league. So, give me a break that'll he'll never be Elite. Stop drinking the Kool Aid and vaccines, and look at what's really happening

Wasnt even that foreal. It was the OL. Giants OL has been bottom 3 last 4 years and recievers had been bottom 3 in drops every year.
While the giants recievers are still dropping alot of passes, he now has time in the pocket so those drops arent as costly (although they were vs dallas)
The ability is an issue too actually.

He's 230 pounds, I read something a few days ago that some say he's closer to 235-240.

Reminder that Daniel Jones has played well enough to be 4-1, the rest of the team didn’t come through (singletary goal line fumble, gray goal line fumble, constant drops by WRs)
Take out week 1, and since then DJ is 5th in efficiency, a 6-1 TD to INT ratio, 68% passing. IS this guy the answer for the Giants, maybe not, but we can win with those type of numbers. He has played better every week as he trusts his knee and the Oline. Hell even his deep ball was on point in this game. Giants also have 22 sacks most in the league.
Honestly I’ve completely given up on anything the talking heads say about QB’s! The narratives are clear which ones you make excuses for and those you blame!

Daniel Jones? Let's bench him, trade him, cut him, humiliate him, burn him in effigy -- NOT. Of course, don't bet on Daniel Jones, because it would spoil the I hate Daniel Jones cottage industry. Daniel Jones works hard, is a great teammate, and he can play through the negativity of the New York press.
Without watching the entire video I skimmed through all of his snaps and my initial thought was he played more than good and over above average. I’ll watch this now and see what ya got.

I just don't know what to do with DJ. This is where we wanted him to start last year. But if he continues to grow, I'm all in . I like the kid, just didn't think he had IT. Didn't think IT was developing.
He finished 2022 on such a high . Dabs started opening the playbook and we saw him put up huge numbers with likes of Ritchie James and Isaiah Hodgins. Then he got killed the first 4 games in 2023. I think he was sacked 20+ times with a record rush and hit on QB. That oline group set us back a whole year. It's good to see him stand in that pocket being protected . Don't sleep on this team.
Jones is playing better because Evan Neal isn’t out there getting beat within 1 second.
You see how a QB’s performance increase when a the OL plays well consistently.
I think we let him play out his contract, maybe draft a potential successor who can learn behind jones and then see what happens. Im still skeptical of him being our.truley elite QB of the future but he has more than earned the job for now and he is rapidly shutting up his haters.
@@BrutalSho but the QB has a lot to do with those sacks, and running game. I don't know why every defense doesn't take Dallas's approach: pack the line of scrimmage, shut down the run and dare DJ to hurt you deep under pressure. When DJ doesn't, it just steps up. I remember when NO tried to do a 10 man blitz against Simms his rookie year. He responded by unleashing a TD pass. The defense had to back off.

I think Jones got most of the fan base on his side after that game. I was a major critic of him but after what i saw im a Daniel Jones fan/believer Lets go GMEN!!!

What elevates Jones is that he actually has a O line to block for him! Right now Giants O line is the 11th best in football in contrast to last season 32 best! I always say a great O Line or even a good line will always make an average QB look good!

This is what he does. He has these bizarre games where he looks good then tricks the organization into thinking he's stable enough to keep. Before proceeding to fall back to Earth.
This is his best Oline since he's been in league. And best set of skill positions. He has no more excuses even coming off 2 injuries. It's his last chance. So far he's making best of it. But gotta do better
He's a solid NFL quaterback, He's proven that at this point I feel. I dont think he'll ever be much better than this, but you can field a more than serviceable team around a QB like him. That said I dont think he's the answer for the giants to contend, But as a bridge QB while perhaps we draft his replacement and let him learn for a year behind jones? I say we let him play out the contract, Build the team up even more and actually allow our next QB to come into an advantageous situation to learn and not be thrown to the wolves ( Like jones was, ironically).
