Good to see the graphics in International Karate still looking as awesome as I remember them to be. Also that Indiana Jones music still so hauntingly hypnotic
Looking forward to listening to the Podcast after work today. This is a great list - The ST was my main machine around 1986 or so, so this list hits hard. I still occasionally play Sundog to this day!.
Awesome, We are on 1989 ST games now. The latest round table was on Xenon 2 and we are currently working on 2 more eps about 1989 ST games. We skipped 1988, but we'll get to it
A lot of ST folk ignore the early years as those games generally look and sound rank lol. but there are some belting games from the 85/86 era and this is a GREAT video to prove that. Excellent!!!!!!
This an '87 were the years where, for us, the ST was the absolute best computer and video game system available. We didn't really rank the A1200 as it was 3x the price and targeted at business. Most of these games blew away 8bit console and computer games, and also extended games to what computer do best (Phantasie, Rogue, etc). We start covering '87 next episode, but there are so many good games, we have to do in parts over multiple episode .
Just a quick thanks for this video. Huge fan of Into the Vertical Blank, but I'm primarily a podcast listener. This video is essential for the latest episode and made it so much more enjoyable. I hope you guys can make this concept into a series, along with updates of your STOS games!
Wow, thanks, Gabriel! Oh, we have A LOT of ST content planned. Its a system that is not covered elsewhere much at all, and we are going to go through ALL of the games in this way. We will be doing some other Atari systems that don't get much love too. +A LOT of STOS and Atari system game development.
I like these games where they didn't know how to fully utilise the ST yet, so their only option was to just to have great gameplay. Not all succeeded in achieving that, though :)
That's actually a good comparison. It was the Speccy the the Amiga's C64 for many in the UK. In the USA the ST would be compared to the Apple 2, and Amiga would be the Atari 800.

Time bandit on the Atari St is one of my all-time favourites

16:49 Sword of Kadash!!! Thank you, i wasn't able to gind that game that must have been the first one we played as little kids 😁
We love this one too. It's really fun and well done.
Great video, thanks.
Nice games selection! ;)
So glad to see Phantasie here. One of my favorite games from my all-time favorite publisher.
Incredibly fun set of RPGs!
Nicodemus would be pleased.
@@godslayer1415 As would Nikademus!
Why turn on the scanlines? It looks awful.
I only saw that after the video went up. They show up for the games run in STEEM and upscaled. I only used that for about 5 games.

Exactly. Simple games that sometimes hit and sometimes missed.
if there was a way to replace the video, I'd do it. I'll just have to replace them and put up a new video.

Merci pour la réponse.
It reminds me of the spectrum 48k

@@IntoTheVerticalBlank I kinda wished I'd owned one now...... It definitely has its own charm... Cool vid 👍
Megaroids was one of the best pieces of PD software...
Yes, yes it was!
Interesting that the last game used a snippet of Propagandas, 'Duel' from 1985.
That's what that is. Good find!
Huh.... so FTL completely ripped the idea from sundog :O
I said that years ago and everyone said they had never heard of the game. I still am not sure I believe them.
@@IntoTheVerticalBlank BS! even the ship is similar shape. They do lie XD
