@@maxunbb I wish I new exactly where to find it, but it shows up in Turrican 2 and Thalion games. It's a code library by Jocium Hipple that was his secret sauce.
I like this collection of platformers games. I consider Wonderboy as one of the best arcade port made for the ST. Somehow I've never been a fan of Gods; too slow, too silent, too marketing.
The interesting trivia from history perspective is that Atari ST was actually a big part of Amiga's huge success. Back then Ocean Software used Atari ST's to develop games for the other systems, including Amiga's system seller. There are many photos available on their facebook page.
I wish I had known about just a few of these games when I was younger. I had such limited exposure...only knew of the games ST games available at a limited number of electronics stores in the area....which was about nothing by 1990.
@@powerofvintage9442 you had and have all those great ST machines! We had to drive to a store called Computer Games Plus 50 miles away to find ST EURO magazine. We still only played 25% or less that were available.
@@andrzejsikorski9997 the impressive thing here is that these are fun and good and crafted without having the extra hardware. The Amiga versions of these games are all just as good of better technically, but the ST is its own thing and the Amiga gets all of the attention. These need a little love too.
@@IntoTheVerticalBlank Without extra hardware Best action platformer is Ruff n Rumble. If not show me better. Action platformer Yo. Joe for Atari fan is wet dream. im playing Atari st games, for me atari st is like amiga 250.
I grew up with an ST too, and it's still my favorite, certainly for this reason
Considering the hardware limitations, some of these are surprisingly well made!
I liked SB2 at first but later levels sucked. SB1 is divine :) But a great video again and its interesting hearing your pov
That music on G&G btw … ❤
Great video ,as usual! I loved Switchblade 2, First Samurai (it has a lot of Turrican parts) and Gods (one of my favourites, masterpiece!)
Very nice! Coincidentally, I published a video yesterday of me playing Ghouls and Ghosts. 😀
Thankyou for the video! What was that sound driver you mentioned they used in Seven Gates of Jambala game? I'm keen to learn more about it.

I just like throwing multiple knives! It's well crafted but The Bitmaps needed a better ST sounds driver.
Very interesting to what an impact Batman the Movie (game) had. Overall some excellent games. I would love to give Wonderboy in Monsterland a try.

The Gauntlet sound effects are just OK.
Why not. But Amiga is always better! More fps better scroll and music.
No question that Amiga was better hardware
